Stairlift Service Across Montgomery County

Montgomery County, PA

We install across all of Whitemarsh Township's 14.5 square miles — from Lafayette Hill split-levels off Germantown Pike to Fort Washington Colonials near Militia Hill, and the older stone homes in Barren Hill and Marble Hill. The Cold Point historic district has some of the steepest staircases we work on, with treads dating to the 1800s. In Spring Mill and along the Schuylkill, narrow rowhome-style stairs need careful rail routing. Whitemarsh Woods and Whitemarsh Hill in Lafayette Hill are classic 1960s-1990s suburban builds — straight rails fit cleanly. We also cover the Whitemarsh portion of Plymouth Meeting and Miquon. Most installs run 3-4 hours, rail to treads, no drywall work.

Straight

Straight Rail in a Militia Hill Split-Level

Militia Hill, PA Installed March 2026

1955 split-level off Cannon Hill Road with dark oak treads and a straight 14-foot staircase. The Henderson family needed a lift for their mother, who had started avoiding the upstairs bedroom. Luis bolted the cream-colored rail directly to the oak treads — no wall work, no drywall patches. The seat parks at the bottom landing, folded up when not in use. From measurement to demo, the job was complete in one morning.

Curved

Curved Rail at a Cold Point Historic Home

Cold Point, PA Installed January 2026

An 1840s stone home in the Cold Point Historic District with a steep staircase that turns 90 degrees at the upper landing. The treads were uneven — common in pre-Civil War construction — and the stair width was just 30 inches. Luis took a 1-hour laser measurement, the factory bent the rail to match each angle, and the brown seat parked at the top floor near a chandelier. Five hours from arrival to final demo.

Straight

Compact Straight Rail in Whitemarsh Woods

Whitemarsh Woods, PA Installed April 2026

A 1980s Colonial in Whitemarsh Woods with stone-tile treads and a straight staircase leading up from a tight foyer. The homeowners had a wooden sideboard at the base of the stairs — Luis routed the rail to end just past it, leaving furniture undisturbed. The brown seat matched the existing wood tones. Three hours, five bolts per tread, no special tools. The homeowner made coffee while the team worked.

Outdoor Lift on a Barren Hill Stone Porch

Barren Hill, PA Installed October 2025

A rough stone-paved front porch in Barren Hill — seven steps up from the driveway with full exposure to Pennsylvania winters. The cream outdoor seat was mounted on an IP55-rated marine-grade rail, sealed against freeze-thaw moisture and de-icing salt. Natural daylight installation, no covered entry. The 4Ah battery backup runs the lift through a full-day power outage. The homeowner's father now gets from the car to the front door without help.

Straight Rail on Carpeted Stairs in Whitemarsh Hill

Whitemarsh Hill, PA Installed February 2026

A 1970s two-story in Whitemarsh Hill with fully carpeted treads and a tiled floor at the base. The brown seat upholstery happened to match the carpet tone almost exactly. Luis lifted the carpet edge at each mounting point, bolted the rail to the sub-tread, then folded the carpet back — clean, no visible cuts. The rail runs 15 feet from the tiled entry to the upstairs hallway. Standard residential install, one morning.

Indoor Platform Lift in Spring Mill

Spring Mill, PA Installed June 2025

A wheelchair-accessible platform lift installed on a straight indoor staircase in Spring Mill, near the Schuylkill River. The flat black deck rides the rail with yellow safety edges on all four sides and a white handrail along the wall. Rated for 600 lb — the homeowner uses a power chair daily. The platform folds up when not in use, leaving the stairs passable for other family members. Indoor use only, DC motor with battery backup.

Common Questions

Everything Whitemarsh Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Whitemarsh Township?

A straight stairlift in Whitemarsh starts at $2,800 installed. Curved rails — common in older Cold Point and Barren Hill homes with landing turns — start at $9,000. Outdoor lifts for Whitemarsh front stoops and decks start at $4,000. Heavy-duty units rated for 600 lb start at $5,050. All prices include the rail, motorized seat, installation, and a 5-year warranty plus lifetime rail coverage. The quote you get at the free in-home assessment is the price you pay — no hidden fees.

How much does a curved stairlift cost for a Whitemarsh split-level?

Curved stairlifts in Whitemarsh Township start at $9,000. The exact price depends on the number of turns and total rail length. A typical Whitemarsh split-level with one 90-degree turn at the landing runs $9,000-$11,000. The rail is factory-bent to your exact stair geometry after a 1-hour laser measurement. We also offer financing from $79/month for qualified buyers.

Are there any hidden fees with stairlift installation in Whitemarsh?

No. The price you are quoted after the free in-home assessment is the final price. It covers the rail, seat unit, installation labor, cleanup, and a full demo of how to use the lift. We do not charge extra for staircases under 16 feet, standard electrical work (the lift plugs into a standard wall outlet), or removing old carpet tack strips from the treads where the rail mounts.

Does Medicare cover stairlift costs in Pennsylvania?

Original Medicare (Part A and Part B) does not cover stairlifts — they classify them as home modifications, not durable medical equipment. However, Pennsylvania's Medicaid Home and Community-Based Services waivers — administered by the Office of Long-Term Living (OLTL) through Community HealthChoices — can cover stairlifts when medically necessary. The OBRA Waiver and the Act 150 Program are the two main pathways in Montgomery County. We help with the paperwork during the assessment.

A word from Luis

I've put stairlifts into just about every kind of home you find in Whitemarsh Township — the 1950s split-levels off Germantown Pike, the older stone farmhouses up in Barren Hill, the newer builds in the Reserve at Lafayette Hill. What I see a lot here are narrow stairs with a turn at the landing. A straight 12-footer from $2,800 bolts in fast. A curved rail takes a 1-hour laser measurement and comes back factory-bent to your exact turn. Either way, the rail goes into the treads — we don't touch the drywall.

This township has some of the steepest staircases I work on in Montgomery County, especially in the older sections around Cold Point and Militia Hill. If you are in Fort Washington or Lafayette Hill and wondering whether a lift will fit, the answer is almost always yes — I have yet to find a staircase in Whitemarsh that can't take a rail. Call me. I'll come out and measure the same day.

— Luis Ramírez, Whitemarsh
Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

Whitemarsh Township has a housing stock that spans three centuries — from 18th-century stone farmhouses to 1950s split-levels to 1990s suburban Colonials. That variety means no two staircases are alike, but the install approach is the same every time: bolt the rail to the treads, not the wall, and get it done in a morning. Whether you are a mile from Fort Washington State Park or right off Bethlehem Pike near Hope Lodge, we measure, quote, and install on your schedule.

If your mom or dad lives in a two-story home in Whitemarsh and the stairs are getting harder, a stairlift changes that. One morning of install work, and they can use the upstairs bedroom and bathroom again without anyone having to walk behind them. Call Luis at the number above — he will come out to your house, take the measurements himself, and give you a quote you can act on the same day.
