Stairlift Service Across Montgomery County

Montgomery County, PA

Upper Dublin Township covers several distinct communities, each with its own housing stock. Fort Washington has the largest concentration of split-levels and colonials from the 1960s and 70s — homes where the stairs often run straight up a center hall, a standard-rail install. Dresher and Jarrettown still have 18th-century stone farmhouses with narrow, winding staircases that need custom-curved rails. Maple Glen and Dublin Estates feature 1990s construction with wider treads and higher weight tolerances. Oreland and North Hills have a mix of pre-war Capes and mid-century ranches, many with tight turns at the landing.

Center-Hall Colonial in Dublin Estates

Dublin Estates, PA Installed March 2026

The Morrisons' 1990s colonial in Dublin Estates had oak treads that were showing wear — slick spots near the nosing. We installed a 14-foot straight rail on the center-hall staircase, bolted to the treads. The beige seat matched the hallway wainscoting. Three hours from truck to test ride.

Formal Staircase with Upper-Landing Turn in Dresher

Dresher, PA Installed January 2026

The Sterns' home in Dresher had a formal front staircase with a 90-degree turn at the upper landing beneath a brass chandelier. We ran a curved rail that hugged the turn without blocking the hallway sightline. Brown upholstery matched the existing stair runner. Laser measurement took an hour; install took four.

Stone Farmhouse in Jarrettown

Jarrettown, PA Installed February 2026

The Kaplans' 1700s stone farmhouse in Jarrettown had original flagstone treads — uneven and narrow. We mounted a straight rail directly to the stone risers, not the tread faces, to preserve the historic masonry. The compact brown seat folded to just 11 inches from the wall. Three-hour install.

Stone Porch Entry in Maple Glen

Maple Glen, PA Installed November 2025

The Gallaghers' front porch in Maple Glen had a three-step stone stoop that iced over every winter. We installed an outdoor straight lift with IP55 weather sealing and rust-resistant hardware. The cream seat sits under the porch overhang — out of direct snow but fully exposed to freeze-thaw. Running through its second Pennsylvania winter.

1950s Cape Cod in Oreland

Oreland, PA Installed April 2026

Nancy's 1950s Cape in Oreland had thick beige carpet on both the stairs and the upstairs hallway. We used a straight rail with brown upholstery that contrasted just enough to be visible but didn't clash. The rail bolted through the carpet to the treads underneath — no carpet damage, no trim removal.

Platform Lift

Split-Level Wheelchair Access in Fort Washington

Fort Washington, PA Installed May 2026

Mr. Henderson in Fort Washington uses a wheelchair full-time and couldn't reach the second floor of his split-level. We installed an inclined platform lift along the main stair run — black flat deck, yellow safety edges, folding ramp that tucks against the wall when not in use. Rated 600 lb. The rail runs on the wall side so the handrail stays clear.

Common Questions

Everything Upper Dublin Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Upper Dublin Township?

A straight stairlift in Upper Dublin starts at $2,800 installed. Curved lifts for homes with landings or turns — common in Dresher's older farmhouses and the split-levels in Fort Washington — start at $9,000. Outdoor lifts for porch steps start at $4,000. Every quote includes the rail, seat, installation, and a site visit to measure. No hidden charges.

Why do curved stairlifts cost more than straight ones?

Curved rails are custom-fabricated to match your exact stair geometry. We do a 1-hour laser measurement on site, the rail gets bent at the factory, then we install it two weeks later. Straight rails use standard off-the-shelf components. Upper Dublin has a lot of older homes with non-standard stairs — particularly the stone farmhouses in Jarrettown and the pre-war Capes in Oreland — where a curved rail is the only option.

Can I finance a stairlift in Upper Dublin?

Yes. Financing starts at $79/month. Most families in Upper Dublin choose this route — it keeps the upfront cost low and the monthly payment is predictable. No prepayment penalties. We run the application during the assessment visit; approval usually comes back same-day.

Does the price include removal if I no longer need the lift?

Removal is quoted separately but typically runs $300–$500. The rail unbolts from the treads and leaves no structural damage. The original flooring or carpet remains intact underneath. We've done removals in Fort Washington and Oreland where you'd never know a lift was installed.

A word from Luis

I've installed stairlifts in Upper Dublin for over 15 years, and I can tell you the housing here runs the full range — stone farmhouses from the 1700s on Jarrettown Road, mid-century split-levels in Fort Washington, 90s builds in Dublin Estates. Each one needs a different approach.

The split-levels usually take a straight rail — 14 feet, bolt to the treads, done by lunch. The older farmhouses with their narrow, winding stairs need a curved rail, which takes a laser measurement first and about two weeks to fabricate. Either way, we leave the drywall alone. No patching, no painting.

If you live in Maple Glen, Dresher, or anywhere in the township and the stairs are becoming the daily hurdle, call me. We'll figure out what fits.

Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

Upper Dublin Township homes run the full range — from 18th-century stone farmhouses along Jarrettown Road to mid-century split-levels in Fort Washington and newer construction in Dublin Estates. That means no two stairlift installs look the same here. We stock straight rails for the standard center-hall colonials and measure for custom-curved rails when the stairs bend.

Same-day or next-day assessments across the township — Fort Washington, Dresher, Maple Glen, Oreland, North Hills, and the surrounding Montgomery County communities. Phone quote in 10 minutes if you have the stair measurements ready.
