Stairlift Service Across Cuyahoga County

Cuyahoga County, OH

Westlake runs from the Lake Erie shoreline south to the Lorain County line, with I-90 splitting it north to south. Canterbury Manor and Dover Center have the oldest stock — 1950s and '60s ranches and split-levels with original oak treads, mostly straight-rail installs. Country Club Estates and Lands End flip to custom '90s and 2000s Colonials, where curved staircases with mid-landing turns are common. Prestwick Crossing backs up to Hilliard Lakes Golf Course — outdoor lifts are popular here for deck access. Orchard Park is a 55-and-over community with carpeted straight-rail installs. Crocker Park has condos above the retail with compact internal stairs. We also serve Bay Village, North Olmsted, Rocky River, and Avon.

Straight

Canterbury Manor — straight rail on dark oak treads

Canterbury Manor, OH Installed March 2026

A 1963 split-level in Canterbury Manor with original oak treads — dark stain, narrow staircase at 30 inches. The homeowner had been sleeping in a recliner for six weeks after a fall. Straight rail bolted through the treads with padded mounts, the cream seat parked at the bottom landing against the dark wood. No drywall work, no rail on the wall.

Curved

Lands End — curved rail at the upper landing

Lands End, OH Installed January 2026

An all-brick Colonial in Lands End near Crocker Park, built in 2004. The staircase wraps 90 degrees around a half-wall at the upper landing with a chandelier overhead. Laser measurement captured the exact turn geometry. The custom-bent curved rail went in over one afternoon, the brown seat parking discreetly at the top floor. The homeowner's mother now uses the upstairs guest suite instead of the main-floor pullout.

Straight

Quail Hollow — straight rail on stone-tile treads

Quail Hollow, OH Installed February 2026

An all-brick home off the east side of Bradley Road in Quail Hollow. Stone-tile treads on the main staircase, a compact entryway with a wooden sideboard at the base. The straight-rail mounts needed masonry bits for the stone, but otherwise a standard install. The brown seat blends with the warm interior tones. The homeowner recovered from hip surgery at UH St. John and needed stair access for outpatient PT.

Outdoor

Prestwick Crossing — outdoor lift on a stone-paved porch

Prestwick Crossing, OH Installed May 2026

A home backing up to Hilliard Lakes Golf Course. The outdoor cream seat went on a rough-cut stone porch — four steps down to the patio. IP55-rated rail, weather-sealed for Lake Erie moisture and lake-effect snow, anchored into the stone with stainless brackets. The homeowner uses it to get from the kitchen out to the deck over the 14th fairway. Installed in May and already through a full winter.

Straight

Orchard Park — straight rail on carpeted stairs

Orchard Park, OH Installed April 2026

A 55-and-over condo in Orchard Park with a carpeted staircase — beige pile, tiled floor at the base. The brown-seat rail went on the right side, brackets compressing the carpet without tearing. A powered swivel seat was added so the homeowner doesn't twist at the top landing. She had been confined to the ground-floor primary suite; now the upstairs guest room and storage are reachable again.

Platform Lift

Savannah — indoor wheelchair platform lift

Savannah, OH Installed February 2026

A 1989 Colonial in the Savannah subdivision. The homeowner's brother, a retired Navy veteran, uses a wheelchair full-time. We installed an inclined platform lift on the main staircase — flat black deck, yellow safety edges, white handrail, 600-lb capacity. The platform folds up so the rest of the family can still use the stairs. A HISA grant through the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA covered the first $6,800.

Common Questions

Everything Westlake Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding, no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Westlake?

A straight-rail stairlift in Westlake starts at $2,800 installed. Curved rails, which are custom-measured and factory-bent to your stair turn, start at $9,000. Outdoor lifts for porch or deck access start at $4,000. These prices include the on-site measurement, the rail, the carriage, the seat, installation labor, and a 5-year warranty with lifetime rail coverage. No hidden fees — Luis gives you a firm number at the assessment, not an estimate range.

How much is the heavy-duty stairlift in Westlake?

Our heavy-duty stairlift starts at $5,050 installed and is rated to 600 pounds, with a wider seat pan and reinforced track for bariatric users and wheelchair transfers. Families in single-story ranches and the Orchard Park 55-plus community often choose it for the larger seat and higher rating. It carries the same 5-year parts and lifetime rail warranty, and the price is firm after the free assessment.

Are there any Westlake-specific permit or inspection fees?

Stairlifts are classified as home accessibility equipment, not structural renovations, so Westlake building permits are typically not required. The rail bolts to the stair treads — no wall work, no rewiring. If you're in an HOA community like Lands End or Prestwick Crossing, we recommend a quick check with your association, but in 15 years we've never had a Westlake HOA block a stairlift install.

Does Medicare cover a stairlift in Westlake?

Medicare does not cover stairlifts — they're classified as home modifications, not durable medical equipment. However, Ohio's PASSPORT Medicaid waiver covers up to $15,000 per calendar year for home modifications, including stairlifts, for eligible residents 60 and older. The Cuyahoga County Department of Senior and Adult Services can help determine PASSPORT eligibility.

A word from Luis

Westlake is one of those suburbs where the housing stock tells you exactly what kind of install you're walking into. A 1960s split-level in Canterbury Manor has a different stair geometry than a 2000s Colonial in Country Club Estates. I've done both. The Canterbury job took about three hours — straight rail, oak treads, bolted right through. The Country Club curved rail needed a laser measurement on site and a custom-bent track, but the family had their mom using the upstairs bathroom again inside two weeks.

Crocker Park gets all the attention, but Westlake is also Bradley Woods Reservation and the lakefront over toward Huntington Beach. A lot of my installs are in homes where people moved in 30 years ago and don't want to leave. Last month I put an outdoor straight lift on a back porch in Prestwick Crossing so the homeowners could use their deck over the golf course again — IP55-rated and weather-sealed for the Lake Erie moisture. Still running like the day we bolted it down.

Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

Westlake's aging housing stock and the 55-plus community at Orchard Park mean stairlift demand here isn't hypothetical — it's families looking at a split-level built in 1965 and realizing Mom can't do those stairs anymore. Luis has done installs in every neighborhood from Canterbury Manor to Lands End, and he'll tell you the same thing each time: the house tells you what it needs.

If you're near UH St. John on Center Ridge Road, call (800) 965-0350. Luis can be at your house within two days for a measurement — no obligation, no sales pitch, just a straight answer on what it takes to get your stairs working again.
