Straight Stairlift — Westchester, FL

Straight Stairlift

The standard install for Westchester's CBS two-stories, tile-stair ranches, and raised-foundation homes.

Over 70% of the stairlifts we install in Westchester are straight rails -- the rail bolts into tile-over-concrete or terrazzo treads using diamond masonry anchors, never into the wall. The seat and footrest fold flat, the battery backup provides 30-plus trips through the next hurricane-season outage, and most installs wrap in under four hours. Every Westchester install ships with IP54 sealed motor housings and stainless fasteners as South Florida standard.

Starting at $3,250 installed

What's Included

  • Battery backup for power outages
  • Swivel seat with safety lock
  • Two wireless remote controls
  • Soft start and soft stop motion

  • 10-year motor & gearbox warranty

Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across Miami-Dade County

Miami-Dade County, FL

From the postwar CBS blocks near Olympia Heights -- where 1950s and 1960s ranches have the narrow staircases and original terrazzo or tile treads our installers measure every week -- to the denser two-stories of Fountainebleau where wrought-iron banisters and jalousie-window landings define the floor plan, our team has worked in every corner of Westchester. We know which blocks along Coral Terrace have the wide stairwells that install in under three hours and which streets in Westwood Lakes have 1950s homes with raised foundations requiring a weather-sealed outdoor entry lift. The Sunset corridor south of the Palmetto has newer CBS construction with wider treads and updated electrical panels -- among the fastest installs in our Miami-Dade territory.

We also cover the surrounding areas without a travel fee -- Fountainebleau, Sweetwater, Olympia Heights, and the Westwood Lakes communities north toward the Tamiami Trail -- so you never wait on a technician driving in from another county.

Westchester CBS two-story -- straight rail through tile-over-concrete treads

Westchester, FL Installed March 2026

A 1968 CBS two-story near SW 87th Avenue with tile-over-concrete stairs and the original wrought-iron banister the family bought the house for. Sra. Castellanos's son called from Tampa after his mother admitted she had been avoiding the upstairs bathroom for three weeks. We measured on a Wednesday, drilled the rail into the tile treads with diamond masonry bits, and had her riding by Thursday afternoon. The wrought-iron banister was not touched. Sra. Castellanos sent her son a video on WhatsApp the same evening from her upstairs bedroom.

Fountainebleau two-story -- curved rail through a narrow 90-degree upper landing

Fountainebleau, FL Installed February 2026

A 1972 Fountainebleau two-story with a stairwell so narrow that two other companies refused the job. The 90-degree turn at the upper landing compounded the clearance problem. We digitally scanned the staircase during the first visit, fabricated a curved rail that navigates the turn and delivers Mr. Medina from the foyer to the upstairs hallway in one continuous ride, and added a swivel-exit seat so he steps off onto the flat hallway floor. The folded seat clears the 36-inch passageway. Luis conducted the entire consultation and walkthrough in Spanish -- the Medina family's preference from the first call.

Olympia Heights 1959 ranch -- straight rail on original terrazzo without a crack

Olympia Heights, FL Installed January 2026

A 1959 CBS ranch in Olympia Heights with original poured terrazzo stairs -- some of the finest we have seen in this part of Miami-Dade. Mr. Perez's primary concern was not the lift itself but the terrazzo. He had read about a neighbor's tile cracking during a different company's install and was close to saying no. We brought the diamond masonry bits and the water cooling guide to the assessment and drilled a sample hole in a back tread with Mr. Perez watching. He approved. Four clean anchor points, zero hairline cracks, rail mounted in four hours. He told us afterward it was the cleanest work anyone had done in that house in thirty years.

Coral Terrace 1990s home -- slim-profile rail for a design-conscious homeowner

Coral Terrace, FL Installed December 2025

A 1994 CBS home in Coral Terrace with wide tiled stairs and a homeowner who was emphatic that the lift could not look clinical in her front entry. Mrs. Vargas had toured two showrooms and rejected both on aesthetic grounds alone. We specified the slim-profile rail, chose a neutral upholstery from the sample book that complemented her tile runner, and mounted the chair so it parks flush against the wall at the base. Her sister, who visited two weeks later, asked whether the contractor was coming back -- she had not noticed the rail at all.

Westwood Lakes raised CBS entry -- humidity-sealed outdoor lift on porch steps

Westwood Lakes, FL Installed November 2025

A 1961 CBS ranch in Westwood Lakes with seven exterior concrete steps from the driveway to the front door -- the last barrier keeping Mr. Moreno's mother in the house and out of assisted living. The outdoor lift is sealed against South Florida humidity, UV-coated for the subtropical sun, and anchored into the CBS porch steps with stainless masonry bolts rated for Miami-Dade's High Velocity Hurricane Zone. It has run through the 2025 storm season without a service call. Luis walked the family through every control at the kitchen table in Spanish before closing the door.

Sunset corridor -- rapid install for post-hip-replacement recovery

Sunset, FL Installed October 2025

Mrs. Fuentes had hip replacement surgery at Baptist Hospital of Miami and was discharged to her Sunset-area CBS home before the stairlift was arranged. Her daughter called us from the hospital discharge lounge. We measured that afternoon, installed the following morning, and Mrs. Fuentes rode the lift from the foyer to her bedroom for the first time at noon on day two of recovery. Her orthopedic surgeon confirmed she completed every prescribed stair-avoidance protocol because the lift eliminated the risk. She was back to full weight-bearing six weeks ahead of the projected timeline.

Common Questions

Everything Westchester Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Westchester right now?

Straight rails in Westchester's CBS two-stories and tile-stair ranches run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails -- needed when your staircase has a 90-degree landing or an L-shaped turn, which is common in the Fountainebleau and older Olympia Heights homes -- run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact geometry. Outdoor lifts for raised CBS entries and porch steps run $4,000 to $7,500 with full South Florida humidity-sealed hardware included. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and covers installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Do you charge more for homes on the west side of the Palmetto?

No travel surcharge anywhere in Westchester or the surrounding unincorporated areas -- Olympia Heights, Fountainebleau, Westwood Lakes, or Sweetwater. Equipment prices are the same as the rest of Miami-Dade. What can vary slightly is install labor for unusual conditions: preserving original terrazzo treads in 1950s-era homes, narrow stairwells in older Fountainebleau two-stories, or outdoor rails on raised CBS foundations that require HVHZ-rated anchors. We list every line item on the written quote.

Do you charge extra for conducting the assessment in Spanish?

Never. Spanish is the primary language in a large share of Westchester households and every assessment is available in Spanish from the first phone call. Luis is bilingual and has conducted hundreds of consultations in Spanish across southwest Miami-Dade. Every quote, consent form, and operating manual is also available in Spanish at no charge.

Are there hidden fees if my HOA requires approval?

No. Our quote includes the HOA paperwork we handle for you. We have worked with dozens of Miami-Dade HOA boards and know the Florida Fair Housing Act reasonable-accommodation process well. What can occasionally add cost is when a board requires its own engineer's letter -- if that happens, we tell you before we start, not after.

A word from Luis

Westchester is CBS block houses built between 1955 and 1975 -- tile-over-concrete stairs, wrought-iron banisters, and homeowners who have been in the same house for 30 or 40 years and have no interest in leaving. I have measured those stairs hundreds of times. The tile looks original because it is. The banister is part of the house. My job is to install a rail that respects all of it.

I can be at your door within 24 hours. I bring a laser measure, a written quote that holds for 30 days, and the SMMC-LTC Medicaid paperwork for qualifying residents. Hablo español en cada visita -- sin costo adicional.
