Stairlift Service Across Fairfax County

Fairfax County, VA

West Falls Church runs on postwar subdivisions — Jefferson Village (Cape Cods, 1948–1952), Westlawn (split-levels, 1954–1958), Hillwood (brick ramblers, early 1950s), Sleepy Hollow (colonials with 90° staircase turns), Woodley (1960s colonials, wider treads), and Raymondale (1950s ranchers with exterior stone entries). Stair width averages 32–36 inches. Most staircases are hardwood or carpet-over-pine — the rail bolts directly to the treads. No wall mounting, no drywall repair, no HOA friction under Fairfax County's accessibility-equipment exemption.

Straight

1948 Cape Cod Straight Rail — Jefferson Village

Jefferson Village, VA Installed March 2026

The Chen family's 1948 Cape Cod on a Jefferson Village side street had 13 hardwood steps with a tight 32-inch width. The seat parks at the bottom landing, tucked beside a built-in bookcase that dates to the original construction.

Common Questions

Everything West Falls Church Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in West Falls Church?

Straight stairlifts start at $2,800 installed. Curved rails, custom-bent to your staircase, start at $9,000. Outdoor units begin at $4,000 with IP55 weather sealing. Heavy-duty lifts rated for 600 lb start at $5,050. All pricing includes the on-site measurement, rail, carriage, seat, installation labor, and a 5-year warranty. Financing runs $79/month for qualified buyers. The free in-home assessment gives you an exact quote — no surprises, no hidden fees.

Are stairlift prices higher in Fairfax County compared to neighboring areas?

No. Our pricing is flat across Northern Virginia — the same $2,800 straight-lift quote you get in Arlington, McLean, or Vienna applies in West Falls Church. What changes is the install time: older West Falls Church homes (1940s–1950s construction) sometimes have narrower staircases or non-standard tread depths, which can add 30–60 minutes to the install but do not change the equipment price.

Does insurance cover stairlift costs in Virginia?

Medicare does not cover stairlifts. However, Virginia Medicaid's CCC Plus Waiver covers Environmental Modifications — including stairlifts — for eligible members. The Virginia Livable Home Tax Credit (LHTC) offers up to $6,500 in state tax credits for accessibility retrofits. VA HISA grants provide up to $6,800 for service-connected veterans. We help with the paperwork at no charge during your assessment.

What financing terms are available for West Falls Church residents?

Financing starts at $79/month through our third-party partner. Terms run 12–60 months with no prepayment penalty. Approval takes under 10 minutes online. We also accept credit cards, checks, and ACH transfers. For veterans, the HISA grant can cover the full cost of a straight lift — we file the forms with the Washington DC VA Medical Center at 50 Irving Street NW.

A word from Luis

I've installed over 400 lifts in this CDP — and I can tell you the 1949 Cape Cod on a Jefferson Village side street has a different staircase geometry than the 1955 split-level over in Westlawn. The housing stock here is postwar, tight, well-built. Tread depths vary. Some of these homes have stairs that are 32 inches wide — that's narrower than modern code, but our rails fit.

The thing I hear most from families in Raymondale and Sleepy Hollow is that they didn't think a lift would work in their older home. It almost always does. The rail bolts to the treads, not the wall — the plaster and drywall stay intact. For the curved colonial staircases with the 90-degree turns at the upper landing, we do a 1-hour laser measurement and the rail comes back bent to match exactly.

If your mom or dad lives in one of these 1940s or 1950s homes and the stairs are becoming a problem, call me. I'll come out, measure, and give you a firm quote — no pressure, no sales pitch. I've been doing this 15 years. I live 10 minutes from Seven Corners. This is my community too.

— Luis Ramírez, West Falls Church
Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

West Falls Church — the CDP east of the City of Falls Church, bounded roughly by I-66 to the north and Route 50 to the south — has one of the highest concentrations of postwar housing stock in Fairfax County. Jefferson Village, Westlawn, Hillwood, Sleepy Hollow, Woodley, and Raymondale were all platted between 1940 and 1955. Those homes have narrow staircases, hardwood treads, and sometimes steep pitches. They were built for young families in the Truman and Eisenhower years. Seventy years later, those same homeowners — or their children — are making them work for a new stage of life.

A stairlift is the fastest, least-disruptive way to keep a West Falls Church home accessible. No moving, no ramps, no first-floor bedroom conversion. Just a rail bolted to the treads, a seat that glides up, and one less reason to worry about a fall. Call Luis at (703) 555-0142 for a free assessment. He knows every block in this CDP — and he's probably installed on your street already.
