Stairlift Service Across Indian River County

Indian River County, FL

Vero Beach stairlift installs span barrier-island and mainland homes with different needs. On the island, Central Beach cottages off Ocean Drive have outdoor stair access tested by salt air and hurricane season. Castaway Cove and Riomar hold two-story homes where curved rails handle 90-degree turns at the landing. Historic Osceola Park, a National Register district, has 1920s bungalows with original oak treads and narrow stairwells that need slim-profile straight rails. On the mainland, Grand Harbor and Bent Pine are golf communities with carpeted stairs and wide turns, while Citrus Springs, a 548-home gated neighborhood south of Route 60, has standard-width 2000s-era staircases that take a straight lift in under three hours.

1920s Osceola Park Bungalow — Original Oak Treads

Osceola Park Historic District, FL Installed March 2026

The Morrison bungalow was built in 1925 with narrow 31-inch stairs and original oak treads — exactly the kind of staircase that makes Vero Beach's historic district special, and tricky. The slim-profile straight rail bolted through the treads, not the wall, preserving the original woodwork. The seat parks at the bottom landing next to a 1920s built-in sideboard the family wanted untouched.

Riomar, FL Installed January 2026

The Callahans' Riomar home has a grand staircase with a 90-degree turn at the upper landing, directly beneath a chandelier. The curved rail was laser-measured on site, then custom-bent to sweep around the turn without touching the light fixture. The brown-seat carriage parks at the top floor, letting Mrs. Callahan use her upstairs bedroom suite again.

Common Questions

Everything Vero Beach Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Vero Beach?

Straight stairlifts start at $2,800 installed. Curved rails start at $9,000 — the price depends on the number of turns and total rail length. Outdoor lifts start at $4,000 with IP55 weather sealing for Vero Beach's salt-air environment. Platform lifts for wheelchair users start at $5,050. All prices include the in-home measurement, custom rail fabrication if needed, installation, and a 5-year warranty. Financing runs $79/month. We give you a firm quote after the 30-minute site visit — no surprises.

Are there hidden fees or add-ons with Vero Beach stairlift pricing?

No. The quote you get after the in-home measurement is the final price — tax, install labor, rail fabrication, and the first year of service calls are all included. The only situation where pricing changes is if your stairs have an unexpected structural issue we can't see from the surface, which we flag during measurement before any work starts. In 15 years installing across Indian River County, that's happened twice.

Does Medicare cover stairlift installation in Vero Beach?

Original Medicare does not cover stairlifts — they're classified as home modifications, not durable medical equipment. A Medicare Advantage plan may offer a home-safety allowance; check your specific plan's Summary of Benefits. The main funding paths for Vero Beach residents are the VA HISA grant (up to $6,800), Florida's SMMC-LTC Medicaid waiver, and the $79/month financing option.

Can I get a stairlift for under $3,000 in Vero Beach?

A basic straight stairlift starts at $2,800 installed. If your staircase is a standard straight run — common in Citrus Springs, Vero Lake Estates, and the ranch homes on the mainland — that price holds. If you need a curved rail, outdoor weather sealing, or a platform lift, the starting price moves up. We don't push upgrades you don't need; the measurement visit tells us what your stairs require.

A word from Luis

Vero Beach has two housing stocks that need different things from a stairlift. The 1920s homes in Osceola Park have narrow stairs and real oak treads — the straight rail bolts into the treads in about two and a half hours, no wall work. Out on the barrier island in Castaway Cove and Riomar, we see more two-story layouts with turns and outdoor stair access. The outdoor installs need the IP55 weather sealing — between the salt air and hurricane season, that marine-grade rail coating earns its keep.

On the mainland side, Grand Harbor and Bent Pine are where we do a lot of curved rails. Wide turns at the landing, often carpeted treads, and the rail gets custom-bent from a laser measurement we take on site. Citrus Springs and Vero Lake Estates tend toward straight installs on standard-width stairs built in the last 20 years — those are three hours, start to finish.

One thing people don't expect: we install a lot of platform lifts in the golf communities. Residents who use a wheelchair and want to keep using the upper floor without a caregiver carrying them. The platform lift handles up to 600 pounds and fits right onto the stair rail — no elevator shaft needed.

Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

Vero Beach stairlift work comes down to knowing the house. Whether it's a 1920s Osceola Park bungalow with narrow oak stairs, a Castaway Cove stilt home needing an outdoor lift with salt-air protection, or a Grand Harbor estate with a curved staircase — the install starts with measuring your actual stairs and fitting the rail to what's there. No catalog guessing, no one-size-fits-all.

Call us at the number above or fill out the form. Luis and the team handle the measurement, the install, and the VA paperwork if you qualify for the HISA grant through the Indian River VA Clinic or the West Palm Beach VA Healthcare System. Most installs take a single morning.
