Stairlift Service Across St. Lucie County

St. Lucie County, FL

Lakewood Park sits in northern St. Lucie County along Kings Highway, roughly 10 miles north of downtown Fort Pierce. The original 1950s subdivision runs between N Kings Highway and Emerson Avenue — these are the midcentury concrete-block ranches with narrow interior staircases that keep us busy on straight-rail installs. Indian River Estates, just south off Indrio Road, is a 1960s-70s single-family community where 8-inch treads on compact interior staircases are the norm. West of Kings Highway along the canal-drainage streets — San Felipe, Kenwood Road, Sebastian Road — homes sit at lower elevation and humidity is a real factor, so we use corrosion-resistant rail coatings. White City, about 9 miles south, has older frame houses from the 1920s through 1940s with the steepest stair angles in the area.

Straight

Midcentury Ranch on Kings Highway

Kings Highway corridor, FL Installed February 2026

Classic 1957 concrete-block ranch off Kings Highway with a straight interior staircase — 11 steps, oak treads, 9-inch depth. The beige seat parks at the bottom landing, right by the front door. The rail bolts to the treads in five places; drywall and baseboards were untouched. The rail's cream finish blends with the warm oak tone. Homeowner needed the lift after a knee replacement made the stairs a daily hazard.

Split-Level with 90-Degree Upper Landing

Emerson Avenue area, FL Installed January 2026

This 1968 split-level a block off Emerson Avenue has a 90-degree turn at the upper landing where a half-wall creates a tight corner. Luis laser-measured the entire run and had the curved rail fabricated to the exact turn radius. The brown seat parks at the top floor, tucked against the landing rail.

Compact Home Near Lakewood Regional Park

Lakewood Regional Park area, FL Installed March 2026

Small 1980s two-story near Lakewood Regional Park with stone tile treads — common here where owners upgraded from original linoleum. The brown seat sits at the bottom near a wooden sideboard, and the compact rail runs straight up 12 steps. Stone treads require sleeve anchors instead of standard wood-thread bolts, which adds about 30 minutes but is rock-solid once done. The cottage-style interior pairs well with the rail's dark upholstery.

Canal-side Lakewood Park, FL Installed October 2025

Outdoor porch install on San Felipe Drive, where the back deck faces one of Lakewood Park's drainage canals. Eight stone-paved steps lead up from the driveway to the front door. The cream outdoor unit is IP55-rated with marine-grade coating on the rail, bolted to the stone with stainless anchors, and wired through weatherproof conduit to an exterior GFCI outlet.

1960s Ranch in Indian River Estates

Indian River Estates, FL Installed December 2025

1965 concrete-block ranch in Indian River Estates with a carpeted staircase added during a 1990s renovation — beige pile on 12 steps with a tiled floor at the base. The narrow 29-inch tread width called for the Bruno compact straight rail. Luis mounted the rail through the carpet into the wood sub-treads; the carpet fibers were trimmed around each bolt point and the edges tucked — clean finish, no fraying.

Platform Lift

Wheelchair Platform for Fort Pierce North Split-Level

Fort Pierce North, FL Installed April 2026

This Fort Pierce North split-level had an interior staircase that was impossible for a wheelchair user. The indoor inclined platform lift was installed along the straight stair run — a flat black deck with yellow safety edges and a white handrail. The deck carries up to 600 pounds, more than enough for a power chair plus the rider. The platform folds vertically when not in use, leaving the staircase clear for walking.

Common Questions

Everything Lakewood Park Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Lakewood Park, FL?

A straight-rail install in Lakewood Park starts at $2,800. Curved units run from $9,000 up, depending on turn count and rail length. Outdoor porch units start at $4,000. Heavy-duty models with a 600 lb capacity start at $5,050. These prices cover the rail, seat, installation, and a 5-year warranty with lifetime rail coverage. We also offer financing at $79/month — no prepayment penalty, and we handle the credit application during the in-home assessment.

Are there any hidden fees with Lakewood Park stairlift installation?

No. The quote Luis gives at the in-home measurement is the final price — it includes the rail fabrication, the seat and carriage, installation labor, a battery backup, and the warranty. St. Lucie County doesn't require a permit for stairlift installations in single-family homes, so there's no permit fee. The only variable is if your staircase needs a custom curve, which adds fabrication cost — but that's always discussed and quoted before anything gets ordered.

Why do curved stairlifts cost more in older Lakewood Park homes?

The Kings Highway corridor homes from the 1950s often have staircases with a 90-degree turn at a landing or a split-level entryway that requires a custom-bent rail. A curved rail is fabricated after a 1-hour laser measurement on site — every bend and angle is unique to your staircase. There's more engineering, more fabrication time, and more installation labor involved. Straight rails, by contrast, are pre-fabricated and typically installed in 3 hours.

Can I rent a stairlift in Lakewood Park instead of buying?

We don't offer rentals for the Lakewood Park area — the economics don't work for short-term use when the install and de-install labor is the same as a purchase. But at $79/month financing with zero down, buying is often cheaper than renting over a 12-month period. If your situation is temporary (post-surgery recovery, for instance), give Luis a call — he can walk you through whether a purchase with the 5-year warranty transfer makes more sense than hunting for a rental.

A word from Luis

I've put stairlifts into Lakewood Park homes since 2009, and the housing stock here tells a pretty specific story. Most of these places went up between 1950 and 1975 — concrete block ranches, single-story, and a lot of them have the original narrow staircases going up to a second-floor bedroom addition or a converted attic. The treads are usually 8½ or 9 inches deep, and that means we're almost always bolting a straight rail right to the staircase itself. No wall work needed.

The Kings Highway corridor homes tend to be the midcentury originals — some have those tight 90-degree landings where a curved rail saves the day. Over on the west side near Emerson, the newer builds from the 1990s and 2000s have wider stairs but higher humidity issues from the canal proximity, so we spec corrosion-resistant rail coatings even on interior jobs. And for the folks out in Indian River Estates, I've done a dozen installs on those 1960s block ranches where the staircase is narrower than current code — Bruno's compact straight rail fits 28-inch treads without a problem. Every install here is a little different because the homes aren't cookie-cutter.

— Luis Ramírez, Lakewood Park
Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

Lakewood Park's mix of midcentury ranches, canal-side homes, and newer construction means every stairlift install in this community starts with a home visit — there's no such thing as a one-size-fits-all rail here. From the 1950s block homes along Kings Highway to the 1960s ranches off Indrio Road, the staircase geometry changes block by block.

Call (772) 205-3355 or fill out the form above. Luis schedules assessments Monday through Saturday throughout northern St. Lucie County, and most Lakewood Park installs happen within 5 business days of the measurement visit.
