Stairlift Service Across Indian River County

Indian River County, FL

South Beach runs along SR A1A from the 17th Street Causeway south to the Indian River County line. Gated oceanfront communities like Castaway Cove and Sea Oaks hold multi-level homes and condos where curved rails follow split-level entries and second-floor suites. Silver Sands and Seagrove mix mid-century cottages with newer builds — straight rails fit their 36-inch interior staircases. Along the lagoon, Smugglers Cove and Oyster Bay have dock-side homes with elevated entries, while Anglers Cove blends townhomes and beachfront access. Salt air means every outdoor install here gets marine-grade sealing.

Straight

Straight Rail, Oak Treads — Anglers Cove Condo

Anglers Cove, FL Installed February 2026

The Morrisons' Anglers Cove condo had a straight flight of dark oak treads — a classic barrier-island build from the early 2000s. The beige seat parked at the bottom landing near the entry foyer, blending with the warm wood tones. Rail bolted to the treads at five points, plugged into a nearby outlet, tested — three hours door to door.

Curved Rail, 90° Turn — Sea Oaks Home

Sea Oaks, FL Installed January 2026

A Sea Oaks home with a curved staircase wrapping 90 degrees around a half-wall at the upper landing, chandelier overhead. The brown leather seat parked at the top floor. We bent a custom rail to the exact turn radius after a one-hour laser survey. The powered swivel cleared the half-wall by three inches at the top landing.

Straight

Straight Rail, Tile Treads — Silver Sands Cottage

Silver Sands, FL Installed March 2026

A Silver Sands cottage with stone-tile treads and a wooden sideboard at the staircase base. Compact space — the brown seat parked at the bottom near the cabinet. The tile treads took slightly longer to anchor than wood, but the rail went in clean at five bolt points. The Delgados kept the sideboard in place; the folded seat cleared it by two inches.

Outdoor

Outdoor Lift, Stone Entry — Castaway Cove Oceanfront

Castaway Cove, FL Installed April 2026

A Castaway Cove home with a rough stone-paved outdoor entry — eight steps up from the driveway to the front porch. We mounted the cream outdoor unit on the stone treads with marine-grade stainless hardware, an IP55-sealed motor, and a UV-stabilized rail cover. The Petersons face the Atlantic about 200 yards away; the salt spray is constant, so the rail got a marine powder coat.

Straight

Straight Rail, Carpeted Treads — Seagrove Home

Seagrove, FL Installed May 2026

A Seagrove home with wall-to-wall beige carpet on the staircase — the brown seat upholstery matched the carpet tone almost exactly. The rail mounted at the landing with the seat parked at the tiled foyer at the base. A standard residential flight, 13 risers. The carpet absorbed any vibration and the lift tracked silently.

Platform Lift

Indoor Wheelchair Platform — Oyster Bay Home

Oyster Bay, FL Installed February 2026

An Oyster Bay home where the homeowner uses a wheelchair full-time. We mounted an indoor inclined platform lift along a straight staircase — flat black deck, yellow safety edges, white handrail. The platform carries the wheelchair and rider up to 600 lb on a DC motor with battery backup. Installed in five hours including the reinforced rail mount points.

Common Questions

Everything South Beach Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding, no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in South Beach, Vero Beach?

A straight stairlift in South Beach starts at $2,800 installed. Curved rails, custom-bent to the exact geometry of your staircase, start at $9,000. Outdoor units for beachside decks and lagoon-side entries start at $4,000. Heavy-duty lifts rated for 600 lb start at $5,050. All prices include the in-home assessment, rail, carriage, installation, and a 5-year warranty with lifetime coverage on the rail. Financing starts at $79/month. No trip charge to the 32963 barrier island.

Why do curved stairlifts cost more than straight ones?

A curved rail is a one-off part — cut and bent to match your exact stair turn after a laser measurement on site. No two curved installs are alike. On the barrier island we see a lot of split-level entries with 90-degree landings and custom staircases in older Castaway Cove homes where the geometry is unique. The site survey takes about an hour, the rail is fabricated off-site, and installation runs about four hours. Straight rails are mass-produced in standard lengths and install in about three hours.

Does Medicare cover stairlifts in Indian River County?

No. Original Medicare (Parts A and B) does not cover stairlifts — they are classified as home modifications, not durable medical equipment. Some Medicare Advantage plans offer a home-safety allowance, but coverage is plan-specific. The main funding paths in Indian River County are the VA HISA grant (up to $6,800 for service-connected veterans), Florida's SMMC-LTC Medicaid waiver, and the federal Older Adult Home Modification Program for low-income seniors.

Are there any hidden fees when installing a stairlift in South Beach?

No. The price quoted at your free in-home assessment is the price you pay. That covers the rail, carriage, installation labor, battery backup, and programming. We don't charge a trip fee to the barrier island, and we don't charge extra for weekend or same-week scheduling. If your home needs an electrical outlet near the stair base, we can refer a local electrician, but that is the only possible add-on and it's disclosed at the assessment.

A word from Luis

South Beach is the stretch of barrier island south of the 17th Street Causeway down to the county line — A1A runs the length of it, oceanfront on one side and the Indian River Lagoon on the other. The housing is coastal through and through: stucco exteriors, open floor plans, and a lot of stairs. Most homes from the '70s through the early 2000s have straight interior staircases with oak treads or tile risers — those are the easy installs, three hours in and out. The older beach cottages from the '50s and '60s are trickier, with tight turns and narrow risers, so we go curved rail, laser-measured on site, about four hours.

What catches people off guard is the salt air. An outdoor lift on a beachside deck needs marine-grade sealing — IP55-rated units with sealed motors and stainless hardware. I've put outdoor units on decks off A1A, on lagoon-side boardwalks, and on the elevated entries so many island homes have for flood code. For our veterans, the HISA grant covers a lot of these installs — the Vero Beach VA Clinic on 17th Street is where the paperwork starts. I walk families through it at the assessment.

Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

Living on a barrier island means stairs aren't optional — nearly every South Beach home has at least one flight, whether it's the elevated main entry required by coastal flood codes, the interior staircase to the second floor, or the deck steps down to the sand. None of it has to become a reason to leave the island you love.

Call Luis at the number above or fill out the form for a free assessment at your home — he covers the whole 32963 stretch from the 17th Street Causeway to the county line, same-week availability, no trip charge to the island.
