Stairlift Service Across Bexar County

Bexar County, TX

Old Rose Garden, the oldest section of Universal City, has compact 1950s-60s ranch homes where stairs are often narrower than 36 inches. Coronado Village, off Kitty Hawk Road, features 1970s split-level floorplans — two short flights instead of one long one. Heritage Hills and Meadow Oaks mix single-story and two-story homes, the two-story units typically having straight staircases against an interior wall. Springwood, the only gated community, has newer construction but steep stairwells in its larger floorplans. Parkview Estates backs up to Universal City Park; many homes here have carpeted stairs that take a rail-mounted lift. Cimarron and Forum Creek both have midsize homes whose straight staircases take a bolt-to-tread rail in about three hours.

Straight

Narrow Oak Staircase in Old Rose Garden Ranch

Old Rose Garden, TX Installed March 2026

The Anderson family's 1964 ranch home has dark-oak stairs only 32 inches across — too narrow for most chairs. Luis installed a Bruno 1550 with the cream seat parked at the bottom landing. Five bolts into the treads, three hours total, and the chair folds to 12 inches at the rail to preserve walkway clearance.

Curved

Curved Rail at Split-Level Landing in Coronado Village

Coronado Village, TX Installed February 2026

The Delgados' 1970s split-level has a 90-degree turn at the upper landing beneath a chandelier. After a one-hour laser measurement, the curved rail arrived three weeks later — bent to match the exact turn radius. The brown seat parks at the top floor, out of the walking path. Four and a half hours on install day.

Stone-Tread Straight Rail Beside Wooden Sideboard

Heritage Hills, TX Installed January 2026

The Simmons family's cottage-style home in Heritage Hills has stone-tread stairs with a wooden sideboard at the base. Luis used a specialized masonry bit to bolt the straight rail into the stone — no cracking. The brown seat tucks beside the sideboard. Install wrapped in three and a half hours.

Outdoor Porch Lift on Stone Pavers in Meadow Oaks

Meadow Oaks, TX Installed April 2026

The Torres family needed their front porch steps covered — rough-hewn stone pavers exposed to full Texas sun and occasional winter freezes. Luis mounted the cream outdoor unit with an IP55 weather-sealed motor and marine-grade rail directly to the stone. The lift kept running through the January 2026 ice storm without a hiccup.

Northview, TX Installed May 2026

The Clarks' 1980s two-story in Northview has carpeted stairs where the beige pile nearly matches the brown seat upholstery. The straight rail bolts through the carpet and pad into the wood treads beneath — no carpet damage, no subfloor repair. Install took three hours, plugged into the hallway outlet.

A word from Luis

Universal City is a military town through and through. When I pull up to a house on Toepperwein Road or in Coronado Village, there's a good chance the homeowner either served at Randolph or has family who did. The housing stock here tells the story — most of these homes went up in the 60s and 70s when the base was expanding, and nobody was thinking about stairlifts back then.

The installs I do here tend to be on narrower staircases than what I see in newer San Antonio subdivisions. A lot of the ranch homes in Old Rose Garden have 34-inch-wide stairs, which rules out some chair models. We use the Bruno 1550 for those — it fits a 30-inch width. And because so many of our customers here are veterans, the HISA grant comes up in almost every assessment. I walk them through the two forms and we submit to the Audie Murphy VA. About half the installs I do in Universal City use some kind of VA or Medicaid funding.

The biggest surprise for most folks is how fast it goes. Three hours, start to finish. The rail bolts to the treads — no wall work, no drywall dust, no electrician. They're riding it the same afternoon.

— Luis Ramírez, Universal City
Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

Universal City's identity is tied to Randolph Air Force Base — and that means a population with many retired service members who want to stay in the homes they've owned for decades. A stairlift is often the single modification that lets them keep the upstairs bedroom or the ground-floor den without a move to assisted living.

We serve the entire 78148 zip code, from Pat Booker Road to the Cibolo Creek trails, from Old Rose Garden to Springwood. Every assessment is free, every install comes with a five-year warranty and lifetime rail coverage, and if you qualify for HISA, STAR+PLUS, or the Amy Young Barrier Removal Program, we handle the paperwork.
