Trinity sits inland in West Pasco County at the junction where Pasco, Hillsborough, and Pinellas Counties meet, at about 33 feet elevation across 6.27 square miles. It is considered part of the greater New Port Richey area in Tampa Bay's northern suburbs.
Source ↗Expert Stairlift Installation in Trinity, FL
Trinity never had an old downtown to grow up around — it was built out almost entirely from the late 1980s forward as a string of planned developments: Champions Club, Trinity Oaks, Thousand Oaks, Wyndtree, Chelsea Place. A lot of the original buyers in those neighborhoods are still in the same two-story house or townhome twenty-plus years later, and a staircase that felt like nothing at 45 is a different conversation at 75. With roughly one in five Trinity residents now 65 or older, we install stairlifts in these West Pasco floor plans on a regular basis — split staircases, open two-story great rooms, the works.

What makes Trinity different
Why a stairlift installed in Trinity, FL is planned around the way this specific community lives, not stamped out from a one-size-fits-all template.
Trinity is a master-planned West Pasco community of higher-priced single-family homes and luxury apartment complexes, built out across named developments such as Champions Club, Trinity Oaks, Thousand Oaks, Wyndtree, and Chelsea Place. Development expanded largely from the late 1980s onward.
Source ↗Trinity is an affluent, family-oriented community where 69.9% of households are married couples, with a 2020 median age of 47.9 years and 25.5% of residents aged 65 or older. That rising retiree share in an upscale housing market drives premium accessibility demand.

Luis came to our Champions Club home and laser-measured everything in about an hour. The curved rail arrived three weeks later and the crew had it done by 2pm. My wife has Parkinson's and hadn't been upstairs in over a year. She rode up that afternoon and sat in her reading chair by the window. I wrote the check and didn't think twice.
We're in Fox Wood and the stairs are oak with a landing halfway up. Luis pointed out the rail bolts to the treads, not the wall, so our drywall stays untouched. He was right — the curved section took about five hours and the rail follows the turn so tightly you barely notice it. My dad uses it four times a day now.
Heritage Springs resident here. I needed an outdoor lift for the six steps up to my front door — the garage entry was getting harder with my hip. Luis recommended the weatherproof IP55 model and explained the marine-grade aluminum. Installed in four hours, works in the rain, and I'm back to getting my own mail.
Our Trinity Oaks home has carpeted stairs and I worried the install would tear them up. Luis showed me how the brackets go through the carpet into the treads — no damage at all. The straight rail took three hours and my mother-in-law doesn't have to sleep on the sofa anymore. Financing at $79 a month made it work for us.
We're over in Wyndtree and our stairs are the Florida-style tile treads that came with the house in 1999. Luis knew exactly how to mount on tile without cracking it — a specialty bit and substrate-rated anchors. Straight install, three hours, no cracked tiles. Got my husband back upstairs the day after his knee replacement.
My brother uses a wheelchair and we needed a platform lift in our Thousand Oaks home, not a seat. Luis recommended the inclined platform model — flat deck, yellow safety edges, 600 lb capacity. About six hours to install, and my brother can reach the upstairs bathroom on his own now. The VA HISA grant through the New Port Richey clinic covered most of the cost.

Stairlift Service Across Pasco County
Trinity's housing splits cleanly by era and stair type. Champions Club and its enclaves Cielo and Floresta line Trinity Boulevard with mid-2000s luxury homes — curved staircases and open two-story foyers are common. Fox Wood, a 900-home gated community off Little Road, runs split-level and traditional two-story layouts from 1998 to 2006, most on wood treads. Heritage Springs, the 55-plus village off Robert Trent Jones Parkway, mixes single-story villas with two-story homes that often need a straight rail on carpeted stairs. Trinity Oaks, Thousand Oaks, and Wyndtree add late-1990s family homes with standard straight staircases of 12 to 16 treads.

Everything Trinity Homeowners Actually Ask
Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding, no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.
How much does a stairlift cost for a home in Trinity?
Straight staircases — common in the newer single-story-with-loft and simpler two-story plans around Trinity — run at the lower end of the pricing range. Curved or split staircases, which show up more in the larger custom builds in Champions Club and Trinity Oaks, cost more because the rail has to be custom-fitted to the stairs rather than ordered off a standard length. We'll give you an exact number after seeing the actual staircase, not a guess over the phone.
Does a bigger, higher-end Trinity home mean a bigger stairlift bill?
Not automatically. Square footage doesn't drive the price — the shape of the staircase does. A large home in Wyndtree or Thousand Oaks with one straight flight can actually cost less to fit than a smaller home with a curved or mid-landing staircase. What matters is turns, landings, and rail length, not the size of the house around it.
How long does a stairlift install take in a Trinity home?
A straight staircase, which is what you'll find in most of the single-family plans built through Trinity's developments since the late 1980s, typically installs in a few hours in a single visit. A curved staircase takes longer because the rail is custom-measured and manufactured to that specific stairway before our crew ever shows up to install it.
Will the installation damage my staircase or banister?
No. The rail mounts to the treads of the stairs themselves, not to the wall or the banister, so the existing handrail stays exactly as it is. That matters in a lot of Trinity's higher-end builds where the staircase and banister are a real architectural feature of the house, not something anyone wants altered.
Does Florida Medicaid cover a stairlift for a Trinity, Pasco County resident?
It can, through Statewide Medicaid Managed Care Long-Term Care (SMMC LTC) as a home accessibility adaptation. There's no fixed dollar cap written into the program — whether it's approved, and for how much, depends on your individual plan of care through your managed care plan (MCO). Start with the SMMC Choice Counseling Helpline at 1-877-711-3662 to find out where you stand.
I'm a veteran in Trinity — will VA benefits pay for a stairlift?
The VA's HISA grant ($6,800 lifetime for a service-connected rating, $2,000 for non-service-connected) explicitly excludes stair lifts — it's for structural changes like ramps and door widening, not the lift itself. For the stairlift, the right route is the VA Prosthetic and Sensory Aids Service through the VA Tampa health care system: a medically prescribed lift through Prosthetics has no set dollar cap the way HISA does.
Are there other local programs in Pasco County that help with the cost?
A few worth checking. The state-funded Home Care for the Elderly (HCE) program pays a basic $160/month subsidy and can approve special, uncapped subsidies for home accessibility work — call the Elder Helpline at 1-800-963-5337. The Area Agency on Aging of Pasco-Pinellas (Aging Matters), which covers Trinity at 727-570-9696, doesn't list stairlifts as a specific line item but can point you toward case management and other funding streams. And FAAST's New Horizon Loan Program offers roughly $3,000 to $30,000 in low-interest financing if you're covering the cost yourself. On the tax side, Florida's Senior Additional Homestead Exemption can free up to $50,000 more of home value from property tax on top of the standard $50,000 exemption — it won't pay for the lift directly, but it lowers your monthly carrying cost so the budget has more room.

I've worked on more than a few homes in Trinity Oaks and Champions Club where the staircase was clearly not designed with an older body in mind — nobody was thinking about a 75-year-old knee when these places went up in the '90s. What I run into a lot now are couples who bought here in their 40s and 50s, put down roots, and have no interest in selling the house to move somewhere single-story. A stairlift is usually the one piece of equipment that lets them stay exactly where they are.
Ready to get started? It's simple.
Trinity has more than doubled since 2000, and the building hasn't stopped — infill around the SR 54 corridor keeps adding two-story homes to the mix. Whether your stairs are the curved foyer of a Champions Club build or a carpeted straight run in Heritage Springs, we measure once and install clean, usually in a single morning.
Between the New Port Richey VA Clinic six miles down Little Road and James A. Haley Veterans' Hospital in Tampa, Trinity veterans have two clear paths to the HISA grant, and Florida's SMMC-LTC waiver covers many Medicaid families. Call (800) 965-0350 for a free in-home assessment.
