Straight Stairlift

The workhorse of Tampa's two-story homes — from Carrollwood ranches to New Tampa colonials.

Over 65% of Tampa installs are this model. A single straight run, the rail bolts directly to your stair treads (never into the wall, never into the baseboard), the seat and footrest fold up out of the way, and our extended-capacity battery backup is spec'd for the kind of multi-day outages Hillsborough saw during Helene and Milton. On concrete-block construction — Seminole Heights, Westshore, Carrollwood — we bolt into the masonry treads with stainless sleeve anchors, not wood screws. Most installs wrap in 3 to 4 hours.

Starting at $3,200 installed

What's Included

  • Battery backup for power outages
  • Swivel seat with safety lock
  • Two wireless remote controls

Stairlift Service Across Hillsborough County

Hillsborough County, FL

From 1920s Mediterranean Revival mansions in Hyde Park, Davis Islands, and Bayshore Beautiful — where original hardwood banisters and tight-turn landings mean curved-rail territory and the family insists we don't touch a single spindle — to 1920s craftsman bungalows in Seminole Heights with narrow stair runs and original heart-pine treads, we know Tampa housing stock from the stairs up. Ybor City's converted cigar factory lofts and 1890s casita row houses sit inside a National Historic Landmark District, so every exterior modification there runs through a different review.

Outside the historic core, we work Westshore and Palma Ceia's 1950s concrete-block ranches, Carrollwood and New Tampa's 1980s-2000s stucco tract homes, Temple Terrace's golf-course colonials, and the condo stock along Channelside and Water Street. Each sub-market gets a dedicated specialist so you're never waiting on a tech driving in from Pinellas.

1925 Hyde Park Mediterranean Revival — curved rail past an original hardwood newel

Hyde Park, FL Installed March 2026

A 1925 Mediterranean Revival on South Boulevard with a 90° landing turn and an original dark-stained oak banister the Castellanos were absolutely clear nobody would touch. We laser-scanned the staircase on day one, custom-fabricated a curved rail that threads past the original newel with two inches of clearance, and installed in a single afternoon. The rail was color-matched to the existing stain. Mrs. Castellano rides from the foyer up to her second-floor library and the chair parks flush at the upper landing. Her book club hasn't noticed it yet.

1923 Seminole Heights bungalow — rail bolted into original heart-pine treads

Seminole Heights, FL Installed February 2026

A 1923 craftsman bungalow on Central Avenue, narrow stair run, original heart-pine treads the family would not let us replace, and an original chestnut banister that's been there for a century. We installed a slim-profile straight rail anchored into the existing treads without touching the sidewall or the banister, finished in a matte walnut that disappears against the dark wood. Mrs. Tibbetts has climbed those exact stairs since 1962 — she moved in two years after her wedding. She rode the lift the afternoon we finished and said the motor was quieter than her old refrigerator.

1968 Carrollwood concrete-block ranch — masonry anchors, not wood screws

Carrollwood, FL Installed January 2026

A 1968 concrete-block ranch off North Dale Mabry with a 14-step interior run to a second-floor addition, concrete stair treads under thin carpet. The first installer the family had called out showed up with wood screws and walked away. We came back with a rotary hammer and stainless sleeve anchors rated for shear, drilled the pilots in about 40 minutes, and bolted the rail into solid masonry. That's how you anchor a stairlift into a post-war Florida ranch. Mr. Bergstrom — 79, retired Air Force, MacDill alumnus — rode it within the hour.

Bayshore Beautiful — salt-air-rated outdoor porch rail with hurricane tie-downs

Bayshore Beautiful, FL Installed December 2025

A 1938 Mediterranean on Bayshore Boulevard, two blocks from the seawall, nine-step front porch overlooking the water. Dr. Eastwood had stopped using the front entry after a fall in late 2024. We installed a weather-sealed outdoor straight rail anchored into the concrete porch stringer with stainless wedge anchors, marine-grade powder coat on the rail, IP54 sealed motor housing, UV-stabilized upholstery, and hurricane tie-down straps specified for the post-Helene/Milton standard we now run on every Bay-front install. Quick-release seat bracket included so the motor pops off in 30 seconds before the next named storm.

New Tampa colonial — 48-hour install for a Haley VA post-surgery discharge

New Tampa, FL Installed November 2025

A call came in Wednesday afternoon: retired Army sergeant major, service-connected back injury, scheduled for spinal fusion Thursday at Luis A. Haley, discharge planned for Saturday, and his two-story New Tampa colonial in Tampa Palms had 16 carpeted stair treads with nothing temporary in place. We measured Thursday morning during his surgery, installed Friday at 2 PM, tested every sensor by 6, and pre-filed VA Form 10-0103 for the HISA grant that same week. He rode it up from the garage the evening he came home. HISA covered the full $8,150.

Platform Lift

Davis Islands — vertical platform lift to a raised-entry 1924 Mediterranean

Davis Islands, FL Installed October 2025

A 1924 Mediterranean Revival on Adalia Avenue, five-foot rise from the driveway to the elevated front entry — a typical Davis Islands layout from the D.P. Davis era. The Rinaldis' mother uses a power wheelchair after a stroke and had basically stopped leaving the house. We installed a vertical platform lift at the side entry with stainless hardware throughout, marine-grade powder coat, a weather-sealed motor housing, yellow high-visibility safety edges, and a keyed call station. The Bay salt air was the whole spec conversation. Approved through SMMC-LTC via Humana — zero out-of-pocket to the family.

Common Questions

Everything Tampa Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift actually cost in Tampa right now?

Straight rails in a standard two-story Tampa home — Carrollwood, New Tampa, Westshore tract colonials — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for Hyde Park and Davis Islands Mediterranean Revival homes with landing turns, and Seminole Heights bungalows with tight banister geometry, run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact stair geometry. Outdoor weather-sealed rails for Bayshore Beautiful porches and raised post-Milton entries run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes the rail, seat, battery backup, install labor, and the first service visit. No South Tampa premium.

My 1925 Hyde Park bungalow has the original heart-pine banister — will you have to touch it?

No. Modern stairlifts bolt into the stair treads themselves, not the wall or the banister. The rail is self-supporting. In Hyde Park, Davis Islands, Bayshore Beautiful, and Seminole Heights we've installed dozens of lifts in pre-war homes without touching a single original spindle, newel post, or millwork detail. We bring wood samples on the first visit and match the rail finish to your existing stain. When the lift eventually comes out, you're left with a handful of small anchor holes in the tread wood — nothing else.

Is there a price difference between South Tampa and the suburbs like Carrollwood or New Tampa?

No. Our written Tampa quote covers all of Hillsborough County with no neighborhood premium. Hyde Park, Davis Islands, and Bayshore Beautiful carry the same base price as Carrollwood, New Tampa, Brandon, and Riverview. The only price variables are the type of install — straight rail, curved rail, outdoor, or platform lift — and material upgrades for coastal properties within a mile of Tampa Bay, where we spec stainless fasteners and a sealed IP54 motor housing as standard. Those marine-grade upgrades are built into the Bay-adjacent quote — not charged as a surprise line item on install day.

Do you offer rentals for short-term medical recovery in Tampa?

Yes. A significant share of our Tampa installs are post-surgical — discharge patients from Tampa General, St. Joseph's, and AdventHealth who need a lift running for 6 to 12 months of recovery and may not need it permanently. We offer a rental-to-purchase program: fixed monthly rate, full purchase credit if you decide to keep it, and we remove the rail at no charge if recovery goes well. Straight rails can be installed on 48 to 72 hours notice across Hillsborough. Curved rails need custom fabrication — if the timeline is very tight, we'll discuss a temporary straight option on one flight while the curved rail is being built.

A word from Luis

Most of my Tampa calls come from two places: a 1920s Mediterranean Revival in Hyde Park or Davis Islands where the family won't let anyone touch the original hardwood banister, or a post-war concrete-block ranch in Seminole Heights or Carrollwood where the rail has to bolt into solid masonry, not wood. Different houses, same answer — we show up with the right anchors and the right paperwork.

My promise: on-site within 24 hours across Hillsborough and Pinellas, a written quote honored for 30 days, battery backup spec'd for a full hurricane-season outage, and marine-grade fasteners on every install within a mile of the Bay. Atendemos en español — Ybor, Town 'N Country, y el East Side son la mitad de mis llamadas.
