Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across Grundy County

Grundy County, MO

We cover all of Trenton and Grundy County. The Chestnut Street historic district has 1890s Victorians with steep, narrow original-oak staircases that suit a tread-bolted straight rail. Postwar homes along Oklahoma Avenue and Rural Street often have a mid-flight turn that calls for a curved rail. Downtown apartments above Main Street shops near the Grundy County Museum frequently need a platform lift for wheelchair access. Homes near Crowder State Park off Highway 6 use outdoor units sealed against Trenton's hard freeze-thaw winters. We also serve East 9th Street, Tindall Avenue, and Harris Avenue, plus nearby Chillicothe and Spickard.

Straight

Chestnut Street — straight rail on original oak treads

Chestnut Street, MO Installed March 2026

Built in 1898, this Chestnut Street Victorian still has its original dark-oak staircase, 12 treads at 34 inches wide. The Ellisons' mother had stopped using the second floor entirely. We bolted a beige straight rail to the treads in three hours, leaving the antique woodwork untouched.

Rural Street — curved rail at the upper landing

Rural Street, MO Installed January 2026

This two-story on Rural Street has a 90-degree turn at the upper landing where the staircase wraps a half-wall beneath a chandelier. We laser-measured the curve and fabricated a custom rail that hugs the turn. The brown seat parks at the top floor, giving Mr. Vance direct access to the master bedroom.

Oklahoma Avenue — compact straight lift near a sideboard

Oklahoma Avenue, MO Installed February 2026

A 1950s bungalow on Oklahoma Avenue with stone-tile treads and tight clearance at the base, where the stairwell opens near a wooden sideboard. We fit a straight rail with the brown seat parked at the bottom, leaving room to walk past. The stone treads needed carbide bits, but it was done same-day with no cracking.

Crowder State Park area — outdoor porch lift for all-season access

Crowder State Park area, MO Installed November 2025

This home off Highway 6 near Crowder State Park has 14 stone-paved porch steps, the only way inside. Trenton runs through a hard freeze-thaw cycle every winter, so we installed an IP55-sealed outdoor unit with a cream seat and full rain cover. The Merritts' father now comes and goes on his own, even in the teens.

East 9th Street, MO Installed April 2026

A standard 1970s two-story on East 9th Street with beige carpeted treads and a tiled floor at the base. The brown seat blended with the carpet so well the Corwins' daughter said it looked like it had always been there. The rail mounted through the carpet into the treads, with no damage to the tile and no wall brackets.

Platform Lift

Main Street — inclined platform for wheelchair access

Main Street, MO Installed October 2025

A downtown apartment above a Main Street shop near the Grundy County Museum, reached by a straight indoor staircase. The Dowells' son uses a wheelchair and needed steady access to his bedroom. We installed an inclined platform lift with a flat black deck, yellow safety edges, and a white handrail that rides the existing stairs with no shaft and no construction.

Common Questions

Everything Trenton Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding, no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Trenton, Missouri?

A straight stairlift in Trenton starts at $2,800 installed. Curved rails, custom-bent to match turns and landings, start at $9,000. Outdoor units for porch and entry steps start at $4,000, and a heavy-duty model rated to 600 pounds starts at $5,050. Every price includes the in-home measurement, rail, seat, installation, and warranty. We do not charge a trip fee anywhere in Grundy County, even out to homes near Crowder State Park.

Are there hidden fees with Trenton stairlift installation?

No. The price we quote at the assessment is the price you pay. It covers the rail, seat, installation labor, battery backup, remote controls, and the warranty. There is no weekend surcharge and no travel fee anywhere in Grundy County. A stairlift bolts to the treads rather than the wall structure, so a permit is rarely needed in Trenton, and if any paperwork is required we handle it at no added cost.

How much is a curved stairlift versus a straight one in Trenton?

A straight stairlift for a single flight starts at $2,800. A curved stairlift starts at $9,000 because the rail is custom-fabricated to your stair geometry after a one-hour laser measurement. The difference reflects engineering and manufacturing time, not a markup. Many older Trenton homes on Chestnut Street and around the Main Street historic district have intermediate landings or winders, so curved rails are common here.

Can I rent a stairlift in Trenton instead of buying one?

We focus on permanent installations rather than rentals, because renting for 12 to 18 months usually costs more than buying outright. For short-term needs, such as recovery after surgery, we can talk through options. Most Trenton families buy because the lift stays with the home and adds resale value, which matters in a market where the median home price is around $100,000.

A word from Luis

I've fitted stairlifts in just about every part of Trenton — the steep, narrow staircases in the Chestnut Street Victorians, the postwar bungalows on Oklahoma Avenue, and the two-story homes out on Rural Street. Each old Grundy County house was framed a little differently, so I measure every job by hand before I quote a number.

The thing I tell families here is don't wait until after a fall. A straight rail runs about $2,800 and we're usually done in three hours, bolted to the treads with no wall damage. The Cameron VA Clinic is about 45 miles south, and I help local veterans fill out the HISA grant paperwork right at the kitchen table during the assessment.
