Stairlift Service Across Denton County

Denton County, TX

We install across The Colony's distinct subdivisions. Stewart Peninsula and The Tribute hold the newer lakeside customs, where wide entry stairs and landing turns often call for a curved rail. Austin Waters and Ridgepointe have compact 1990s two-stories with tile or tight straight runs that take a slim-rail straight lift. The original 1970s–80s South Colony and Legend Trails homes — many Fox & Jacobs builds — usually have a standard straight staircase ideal for a treads-mounted rail. We also serve nearby Lewisville, Little Elm, Frisco, Carrollton, Highland Village, and Plano across Denton County.

Stewart Peninsula — straight rail on original oak treads

Stewart Peninsula, TX Installed February 2026

A wide oak staircase in a Stewart Peninsula lakeside home. Luis bolted a beige straight rail directly to the original treads — no wall work — and parked the seat at the bottom landing. The 78-year-old homeowner had upstairs access back the same afternoon.

Aberdeen at Tribute — curved rail at the upper landing

Aberdeen at Tribute, TX Installed March 2026

A grand curved staircase under a chandelier in an Aberdeen at Tribute home, with a 90-degree turn at the top. Luis laser-scanned the geometry, custom-bent the rail, and mounted it to the treads. The brown seat parks at the upper landing with a powered swivel for a homeowner with Parkinson's.

Austin Waters — compact straight rail on tile treads

Austin Waters, TX Installed January 2026

A compact 1990s two-story in Austin Waters with stone-look tile treads. Luis used bolt-through mounting on the tile — no cracking — and tucked the brown seat beside a wooden sideboard, out of the walkway. Three-hour install.

Ridgepointe — weather-sealed outdoor rail on stone steps

Ridgepointe, TX Installed April 2026

Eight uneven stone steps at a Ridgepointe front entry, slick after a Texas downpour. Luis fitted an IP55 weather-sealed cream rail along the exterior stairs with marine-grade upholstery to handle the heat and humidity. Three-hour install restored front-door access.

Legend Trails — straight rail on carpeted stairs

Legend Trails, TX Installed December 2025

A carpeted staircase in a Legend Trails two-story, with the seat tone matching the carpet. Luis bolted the rail through the carpet into the treads; the tile floor at the base went untouched. Battery backup means it keeps running through a North Texas ice storm.

Stonehaven at Tribute — indoor platform lift for a wheelchair

Stonehaven at Tribute, TX Installed May 2026

The Acostas' son uses a wheelchair full-time. Luis installed an indoor inclined platform lift — flat black deck, yellow safety edges, white handrail. The deck folds up when not in use so the rest of the family keeps the stairs open.

Common Questions

Everything The Colony Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding, no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in The Colony?

A straight stairlift for a standard Colony home runs from $2,800 installed. Curved lifts start at $9,000 — the exact price depends on the number of turns and the rail length needed for your staircase.

Are there hidden costs on a Colony installation?

No. The price Luis quotes at your free assessment is the price you pay. It covers the rail, seat, battery backup, and labor. Most homes need no electrical work — the unit plugs into a standard outlet.

Does insurance cover a stairlift in The Colony?

Most private insurance and Original Medicare don't cover stairlifts, since they're classed as home modifications rather than durable medical equipment. Texas Medicaid's STAR+PLUS program can cover home modifications up to a $7,500 lifetime cap for eligible enrollees.

What financing options exist for The Colony homeowners?

Financing starts at $79 a month with approved credit, on 12- and 24-month terms with no prepayment penalty. Veterans may also qualify for the VA HISA grant — up to $6,800 for service-connected veterans — which can cover most or all of a straight-rail install.

A word from Luis

I've measured stairs in just about every corner of The Colony — the original 1970s Fox & Jacobs homes off South Colony Boulevard, the newer builds out at The Tribute with their curved staircases looking over Lewisville Lake. The older ranch-style two-stories usually take a straight rail bolted right to the treads; the lakeside customs more often need a curved rail bent to a landing turn.

If your mom or dad lives here and the stairs are getting to be a problem, call me. I'll come out, measure, and give you a real number — no sales pitch, just a neighbor who knows these houses.

Luis Ramírez, The Colony
Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

The Colony spreads along the eastern shore of Lewisville Lake, with homes built in waves since 1973. Each pocket — from Stewart Peninsula's custom lakeside builds to the newer construction at The Tribute — brings its own staircase geometry. We install to the treads, so there's no wall mounting and no drywall to repair afterward.

Call (800) 965-0350 for a free in-home assessment anywhere in The Colony. Luis measures your stairs, checks the outlet, and gives you a firm same-day quote — no pressure and no follow-up calls if you're not ready.
