Stairlift Service Across York County

York County, SC

Tega Cay sits on a 1,600-acre peninsula jutting into Lake Wylie, about 20 miles south of Charlotte. Homes here range from the original 1970s builds — two-story colonials and split-levels with oak treads in Lake Shore and Heron Harbor — to 1990s and 2000s expansions in Lake Ridge and Fairway Point, where curved staircases and carpeted treads are common. Cameron Creek and Hunters Run offer newer construction with wider staircases. The active-adult Courtyards at Tega Cay features single-level ranches, while Amber Woods near Trailhead Park has a mix of split-levels and two-story homes with outdoor entry stairs.

Straight

Straight rail on oak treads in Lake Shore

Lake Shore, SC Installed March 2026

The Pattersons bought their Lake Shore waterfront home in 2003 — a two-story colonial with dark oak treads running straight up from the foyer. Mrs. Patterson's knee gave out after a fall last winter. Luis installed a beige straight-rail lift in 3 hours, bolting the rail directly into the treads. The oak stayed intact. She can reach the upstairs bedrooms again.

Curved

Curved rail at upper landing in Fairway Point

Fairway Point, SC Installed April 2026

The Nguyens live in Fairway Point, their home overlooking the 9th fairway. A 90-degree turn at the upper landing, framed by a half-wall and chandelier, ruled out a straight lift. Luis completed a 1-hour laser measurement, then returned two weeks later with the custom-bent curved rail. The brown seat parks at the top floor, clear of the walkway.

Compact straight rail in Heron Harbor

Heron Harbor, SC Installed February 2026

The Miltons' home in tree-lined Heron Harbor is a 1980s build with stone-tread stairs climbing from a narrow hallway next to a wooden sideboard. A straight rail fit the run. Luis mounted it to the treads in under 3 hours. The brown seat sits at the bottom when not in use, leaving the hallway walkable and the sideboard fully accessible.

Outdoor

Outdoor porch lift in Amber Woods

Amber Woods, SC Installed January 2026

The Coopers have a split-level in Amber Woods, with rough stone paving on the front porch entry. Mr. Cooper uses a cane, and the three outdoor steps became a daily hazard. Luis installed a cream-colored outdoor lift — IP55-rated, weather-sealed for humid summers and freeze-thaw winters. The rail bolts to the stone treads, and the seat folds against the rail.

Carpeted stairlift in Lake Ridge

Lake Ridge, SC Installed March 2026

The Garcias live in Lake Ridge, near the community clubhouse. Their 1990s two-story has carpeted stairs rising from a tiled foyer. Mrs. Garcia worried the rail would tear up the carpet. Luis explained the bolts pass through the pile into the wood tread beneath — no damage. The brown seat matches the beige carpet tones. Install took about 3 hours.

Platform Lift

Indoor platform lift in Cameron Creek

Cameron Creek, SC Installed April 2026

The Washingtons built their Cameron Creek home in 2021 — wide stairs, modern finishes. Their son uses a wheelchair full-time, so a seat lift would not work. Luis installed an inclined platform lift: flat black deck, yellow safety edges, 600 lb capacity. The platform rides the rail up alongside the stairs and folds against the wall when not in use.

Common Questions

Everything Tega Cay Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Tega Cay?

A straight stairlift starts at $2,800. Curved lifts, common in Fairway Point and Lake Ridge homes with landing turns, start at $9,000. Outdoor lifts run from $4,000, and heavy-duty models from $5,050. Financing is available at $79 a month. Every quote includes the rail, seat, installation, and a 5-year warranty.

Are curved stairlifts in Tega Cay homes more expensive?

Yes — curved rails cost more because each one is custom-bent to your exact staircase after a 1-hour laser measurement on site. Starting price is $9,000. The rail is fabricated off-site and installed about two weeks later. The fit is precise, and the seat parks neatly at the top or bottom landing.

Does living in Tega Cay affect stairlift pricing?

No — our pricing is the same across York County. What matters is your staircase layout, not your ZIP code. That said, Tega Cay's mix of 1970s through 2020s housing stock means we see everything from narrow original staircases to wide modern runs. Luis can price your exact stairs at the free assessment.

Is there a discount for veterans in Tega Cay?

The VA HISA grant covers up to $6,800 for service-connected veterans and $2,000 for non-service-connected veterans — enough to cover a straight stairlift entirely in many cases. We help with the paperwork through the Rock Hill VA Clinic on Mills Park Drive. The grant is one-time, tax-free, and never repaid.

A word from Luis

I've been installing stairlifts on this peninsula for over 15 years. The housing stock here is consistent — mostly two-story builds from the 1970s through early 2000s, with hardwood or carpeted treads and standard 8-to-9-foot rises. In Lake Shore and Heron Harbor, I see a lot of original oak treads that take a straight rail cleanly. Over in Fairway Point and Lake Ridge, the curved staircases are where the laser measurement really earns its value — no guesswork, one site visit, and the rail fits the turn exactly.

The outdoor installs are their own thing. Tega Cay gets a few hard freezes every winter — that 33-degree January average means ice on the porch steps more often than people expect. Every outdoor lift we install is IP55-rated and weather-sealed for that. I've put them on stone entries in Amber Woods, on decks in Hunters Run, on porches facing the lake. They hold up. If you're wondering whether a lift will work in your home, call me. I'll come by, take a look, and tell you honestly what it'll take.
