Straight Stairlift

The standard for Rock Hill’s ranches, colonials, and two-story new construction.

Over 70% of the stairlifts we install in Rock Hill are straight rails. The rail bolts into your stair treads (never the wall), the seat folds flat, and the battery backup keeps you moving through summer storms. Every Rock Hill install ships with humidity-rated lubricant and a sealed motor housing as the SC default. Most installs wrap in under four hours.

Dark oak stairs in an Old Town home — beige seat matched to the warm interior

Old Town, SC Installed March 2026

A 1920s Old Town home with dark hardwood oak stairs, an original turned-spindle banister, and a warm indoor palette of creams and browns. We matched the beige seat upholstery to the existing wood tones, bolted the rail into the oak treads using backing plates for the century-old wood, and positioned the lower park behind the hallway archway. The rail blends into the dark hardwood when the seat is folded at the landing. Mrs. Blackmon’s church group has visited twice since — nobody mentioned the lift until she pointed it out.

90° curved rail in an India Hook two-story — brown seat parks at upper landing

India Hook, SC Installed February 2026

A 2004 India Hook two-story with a 90-degree turn at the upper landing and a foyer chandelier that hung directly in the rail path. We scanned the staircase digitally, custom-fabricated a curved rail that threads past the chandelier, and mounted the brown upholstered seat so it parks flush at the upper landing. Mr. Caldwell — a retired Marine — swivels 90 degrees and steps onto the hallway floor. The VA CBOC in Rock Hill wrote the medical-necessity letter and the Columbia VA processed the HISA grant in six weeks.

Stone-tile treads in an Ebinport cottage — compact rail beside the sideboard

Ebinport, SC Installed January 2026

A renovated 1950s Ebinport cottage with stone tile treads and a wooden sideboard at the base of the stairs — a piece that has been in Mrs. Faulkner’s family since her grandmother brought it from upstate. We mounted the brown-upholstered seat on the compact-profile rail, positioned the lower park so the folded chair clears the sideboard by two inches, and drilled into the stone with masonry anchors. The cottage character is intact. Her daughter says it looks like it grew out of the staircase.

Outdoor rail on stone paving at a Manchester Village raised entry

Manchester Village, SC Installed December 2025

The Hardins’ Manchester Village home has a raised front entry with stone paving and four exterior steps that get slick in every summer rain. We installed the cream-colored outdoor seat on a humidity-sealed rail anchored into the stone paving, added a weather hood over the joystick, and tested the unit during a September afternoon downpour. Mr. Hardin rides it in daylight and rain — the sealed motor and stainless fasteners handle the Piedmont moisture without issue. Six months in, zero service calls.

Carpeted stairs in a Riverwalk two-story — swivel seat at the landing

Riverwalk, SC Installed November 2025

A 2008 Riverwalk two-story with 14 carpeted treads and a residential landing at the top. Mrs. Gaines’s mother had moved in from Charlotte and the stairs were the one thing keeping her from full independence in the new home. We installed the brown-upholstered seat with the swivel-exit feature so the chair rotates 90 degrees at the upper landing — she stands on the hallway carpet instead of the top step. The rail runs along the carpet without bunching. Simple install, immediate independence.

Platform Lift

Indoor platform lift with yellow safety edges for a Cherry Park veteran

Cherry Park, SC Installed October 2025

Mr. Pressley is a Navy veteran who uses a power wheelchair and needed access between the main floor and the upstairs bedrooms in his Cherry Park home. We installed an inclined platform lift on the indoor stairway with a flat deck and yellow high-visibility safety edges on all sides. The platform folds up against the wall when not in use so his wife and granddaughter walk the stairs normally. The Rock Hill CBOC wrote the prescription and the Columbia VA processed the HISA grant. He’s made the trip to his own bedroom every night since.

Common Questions

Everything Rock Hill Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Rock Hill right now?

Straight rails in standard Rock Hill homes run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails — needed for India Hook 90-degree landings and Old Town Victorian turns — run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is custom-manufactured. Outdoor models with humidity-sealed components run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

I live in Rock Hill but work in Charlotte. Can a Charlotte company do the install?

Not legally. South Carolina requires installers to hold an SC Residential Builders Commission license. A North Carolina-licensed contractor cannot work in your Rock Hill home. We hold the SC license, are enrolled with SC Medicaid, and are credentialed with the Columbia VA. The state line matters.

Do you charge extra for humidity sealing?

No. Every Rock Hill install ships with humidity-rated lubricant and a sealed motor housing as the South Carolina default. The Piedmont humidity destroys factory-default lubricants within two summers. This is our baseline spec, not an add-on.

Any hidden fees for HOA communities in Riverwalk or India Hook?

Our quote includes the HOA paperwork. South Carolina’s Horizontal Property Act and the federal Fair Housing Act require HOAs to approve reasonable accessibility modifications. We provide the full documentation packet at no extra cost. If the HOA requires an additional engineering letter, we tell you before we start.

A word from Luis

Most Rock Hill families call after a defining moment — a parent in Old Town who hasn’t been upstairs in months, a fall on the front porch steps during a summer rainstorm, a daughter in Charlotte calling about her father in India Hook who swears he’s "fine" but isn’t.

My job is straightforward: get to your house within 24 hours, measure once, and hand you a written quote honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. The Rock Hill VA outpatient clinic is right here in town, and the Columbia VA is 70 miles south — I’ve done the HISA paperwork for dozens of York County veterans.
