Straight Stairlift

The standard for Spring's master-planned two-stories in Gleannloch Farms and Windrose.

Over 70% of the stairlifts we install across north Harris County are straight rails -- the 1990s-to-2010s two-stories in Gleannloch Farms, Windrose, Spring Trails, and Northgate Crossing with wide, carpeted stairs. The track bolts to your stair treads, never into the wall. The seat and footrest fold up out of the way, the battery backup keeps you moving through Gulf Coast storm outages, and most installs finish in under three hours.

Starting at $2,800 installed

What's Included

  • Battery backup for power outages
  • Swivel seat with safety lock
  • Two wireless remote controls
  • Soft start and soft stop motion
  • Fold-up seat, arms, and footrest
  • 10-year motor & gearbox warranty

Compared to Alternatives

vs Curved: 3x less expensive and installed in one visit. vs Home elevator: 10-15x less cost and no construction. vs Moving bedroom downstairs: Keeps your home exactly as it is.

Stairlift Service Across Harris County

Harris County, TX
From Gleannloch Farms -- the 2,100-acre master-planned community off Champion Forest Drive where 3,200 homes went up between 1998 and 2012, mostly two-story colonials zoned to Klein ISD -- to Champion Forest itself, the older-growth subdivision established in 1977 with mature tree canopy, wider lots, and original owners now in their 70s and 80s. Windrose has newer mid-2000s homes with wider stairs and fast installs. Klein and Northgate Crossing shift older with 1980s-1990s two-stories where landing turns require swivel-exit seats. Along Cypresswood Drive, post-flood raised ranches sometimes need outdoor rails on new entry stairs.

Straight

2003 Gleannloch Farms colonial -- straight rail on 14 carpeted treads before knee surgery discharge

Gleannloch Farms, TX Installed March 2026

A 2003 two-story colonial backing onto the Gleannloch Farms golf course, 14 carpeted treads, standard 36-inch stair width. Mr. Tran had a knee replacement at Houston Methodist The Woodlands and needed the lift running before his Friday discharge. We measured Wednesday, installed Thursday morning, and he rode it for the first time that evening in the recliner position the physical therapist recommended. The HOA approval came through in six business days using our Fair Housing Act accommodation packet. Three hours on site, written quote honored to the penny.

1985 Champion Forest traditional -- curved rail with 90-degree upper landing turn and swivel exit

Champion Forest, TX Installed February 2026

A 1985 traditional in Champion Forest with the staircase layout common in that era of Spring construction: 10 treads up, a 90-degree turn at the upper landing, then four more treads to the second-floor hallway. Mrs. Decker's daughter had been driving up from Bellaire every weekend to help her mother navigate the stairs. We laser-scanned the run during the first visit, fabricated the curved rail in 10 days, and installed with a swivel-exit seat at the top landing so she steps off directly onto the hallway floor. The daughter still drives up on weekends -- but now it is for lunch, not for worry.

2006 Windrose traditional -- straight rail on wide modern stairs with extended storm battery

Windrose, TX Installed December 2025

A 2006 traditional in Windrose with the wide, modern stairs that newer Spring construction does well -- 42-inch width, level treads, no landing turn. Mr. Campbell, 74, had been sleeping on the living room couch for three weeks after a fall. His son found us online and we measured the next day. The install took 2.5 hours and the extended battery backup we spec for north Harris County proved its value six months later when Beryl knocked out power for four days. Mr. Campbell rode the lift twice a day through the entire outage without interruption.

1974 post-Harvey raised ranch -- outdoor weather-sealed rail on 11 new entry steps

Cypresswood, TX Installed January 2026

A 1974 ranch near Cypresswood Drive that took four feet of water during Harvey in 2017. The family raised the house on new piers and what used to be a two-step entry is now an 11-step climb. Abuela, 83, had essentially stopped visiting. We installed a weather-sealed outdoor straight rail along the entry stair stringer, UV-coated for the Texas sun, with a quick-release seat bracket for hurricane prep. The entire consultation happened in Spanish -- Luis walked Sra. Morales through every button at the kitchen table while the grandchildren translated the paperwork for the insurance file. She rode it home from the car that same evening.

1992 Klein area ranch -- VA HISA-funded straight rail for retired Navy chief

Klein, TX Installed November 2025

A 1992 ranch-style two-story in the Klein area with a standard 13-tread interior stair. Mr. Hadley is a retired Navy chief who gets his care at the DeBakey VA in Houston. He had been told by another company that the VA does not cover stairlifts -- which is flatly wrong. We pre-filled VA Form 10-0103, the prescription came from his VA provider within three weeks, and the HISA grant covered $6,400 of the total cost. He paid the balance out of pocket and told us it was the easiest VA paperwork he had dealt with in 28 years of service.

2010 Spring Trails two-story -- 600 lb reinforced platform lift for post-surgery recovery

Spring Trails, TX Installed October 2025

A 2010 two-story in Spring Trails where Mr. Washington, 68, needed a lift rated above the standard 300 lb capacity after bilateral knee replacement at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands. The reinforced 600 lb frame and 22-inch padded seat gave him the clearance and confidence to ride from the ground floor to the bedrooms without full weight-bearing on the recovering joints. His physical therapist visited the house a week after install and approved the lift as part of the recovery protocol. He transitioned off it four months later and we removed it -- the treads had six small pilot holes, invisible under the carpet.

Common Questions

Everything Spring Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Spring, TX right now?

Straight rails in standard Spring two-story homes -- the colonials in Gleannloch Farms, the traditionals in Champion Forest, the newer builds in Windrose and Spring Trails -- run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for split-level ranches with landing turns or older homes along Cypresswood with 90-degree mid-landings run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact stair geometry. Outdoor models for post-flood raised entries or front-porch steps run $4,000 to $7,500.

Is a stairlift cheaper than assisted living in Spring?

Assisted living in Harris County averages $4,800 per month -- that is $57,600 per year. A straight stairlift installs in under four hours for $2,800 to $5,500 and lets your parent stay in the home they know, in the neighborhood they love, near their doctors at Houston Methodist The Woodlands and their friends at the Spring Branch church. For most Spring families, the stairlift costs less than two months of assisted living.

Can I pay monthly instead of one large payment?

Yes. We work with three lending partners that offer 0% APR for qualified Spring buyers and low fixed-rate plans starting around $79 per month. The application is a soft credit pull, takes about four minutes, and approval is usually instant. No prepayment penalty. Many north Harris County families combine financing with a partial VA HISA grant or STAR+PLUS waiver to bring their monthly out-of-pocket to under $50.

Do you charge extra for Spanish-language service?

No. Spring has a significant Hispanic population and Spanish is the primary language in many households across the census-designated place. Every assessment can be conducted entirely in Spanish at your request -- Luis is bilingual, the entire home visit runs in Spanish start to finish, and every printed quote, consent form, operating manual, and safety sheet is available in Spanish at no charge.

A word from Luis

Spring splits into two install worlds. The master-planned communities -- Gleannloch Farms, Windrose, Spring Trails, Northgate Crossing -- are 1990s-to-2010s two-story colonials and traditionals with wide carpeted stairs. Standard straight runs, three hours, done. The older stock along Cypresswood and Champion Forest is 1970s-to-1980s construction where landing turns need curved rails and post-Harvey raised entries need outdoor lifts on stairs that did not exist before the house went up on new piers.

I measure both. I speak Spanish with the families along Spring Creek, English with the Klein ISD households, and the quote is written, honored for 30 days, and the install is this week.
