Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across Harris County

Harris County, TX

From raised pre-war bungalows in the Heights — those 6-to-8 step porches on 3-foot brick piers are our outdoor-lift hotspot — to post-Harvey raised ranches in Meyerland and Bellaire where new entry steps quintupled, we know Houston housing stock from the stairs up. Inside the Loop we work Montrose, Oak Forest, and River Oaks. Outside: Sugar Land, Katy, The Woodlands, Pearland, Spring, Cypress, and Kingwood. Each suburb gets a dedicated specialist — no one drives across Houston traffic from another county.

Heights Craftsman — straight rail on dark oak open-tread stairs

The Heights, TX Installed March 2026

A 1924 Craftsman bungalow on Harvard Street in the Heights with dark-stained oak open-tread stairs running from the living room to the second floor. Mrs. Kowalski walks with a cane now and her husband's knees gave out after decades of climbing these original hardwood treads. We bolted a straight rail directly into the oak treads — no wall anchors needed because the stringer is solid old-growth lumber — and parked the beige seat at the bottom landing where it folds flat against the rail. The warm wood tones of the original staircase stayed untouched. He rode it down from the bedroom the afternoon we finished and said it was quieter than their ceiling fan.

1928 Montrose duplex — 180-degree switchback rail past an original newel post

Montrose, TX Installed February 2026

A 1928 duplex on Hawthorne Street with a tight 180-degree switchback between the first and second floors — the kind of staircase that makes straight-rail salespeople pack up and leave. The original newel post is hand-turned oak and the family was clear nothing was getting touched. We laser-scanned the stairs on day one, custom-fabricated a curved rail that threads past the newel with 2 inches of clearance, and installed in a single afternoon. Mr. Ashworth rides from the ground floor to his second-floor study and the chair parks flush at the upper landing next to the framed art on the hallway wall.

Oak Forest cottage — compact straight rail beside the hallway sideboard

Oak Forest, TX Installed January 2026

A 1962 Oak Forest ranch with a compact interior staircase — stone-tile treads, a wooden sideboard with a potted plant at the bottom landing, and barely 36 inches of clearance between the wall and the banister. Mrs. Nguyen's mother, 79, moved in after Harvey took her Bellaire home and the narrow cottage stairs became the daily obstacle. We fitted a slim-profile straight rail anchored into the stone treads, with a folding seat and footrest that tuck flat so the family can still pass on the stairs. The cozy traditional feel of the stairwell stayed intact — the rail runs alongside the sideboard without touching it.

Bellaire raised ranch — outdoor rail on stone-paved porch entry

Bellaire, TX Installed December 2025

A 1968 Bellaire ranch raised 4 feet on new piers after Harvey, turning a 2-step entry into a stone-paved porch staircase with rough natural stone treads and a covered entry overhead. Mrs. Patterson had bilateral hip replacement at Houston Methodist and the stone steps were impossible with a walker. We anchored a weather-sealed outdoor rail into the concrete beneath the stone paving, fitted a cream-colored weather-resistant seat that parks at the top beside the front door, and sealed every fitting against Houston's humidity and hurricane-driven rain. Natural daylight floods the covered entry, and the cream seat blends with the porch trim.

Sugar Land colonial — straight rail on carpeted stairs with landing

Sugar Land, TX Installed November 2025

A two-story Sugar Land colonial in First Colony with carpeted stairs and a tiled landing at the bottom — the brown carpet on the treads runs wall to wall, with light switches on the wall at the turn. Mrs. Gutierrez's mother, who lives with them, needed the lift after a fall on the carpeted stairs last September. We anchored a straight rail through the carpet into the plywood subfloor, matched the brown upholstery to the carpet tones so the seat blends in when parked, and added a swivel-exit at the top landing. Bilingual consultation throughout because her mother is Spanish-dominant. She rode it that same evening and asked Luis to explain every button one more time — in Spanish.

Platform Lift

Pearland — indoor inclined platform lift for a wheelchair-using veteran

Pearland, TX Installed October 2025

Sgt. Whitlow is a DeBakey VA patient with a service-connected spinal cord injury who uses a wheelchair full-time and cannot transfer to a seated stairlift. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift on the interior stairway of his Pearland ranch: a flat black anti-slip platform with yellow high-visibility safety edges, white handrails on both sides, and a DC motor that carries the platform smoothly between floors. The orange-tan walls of his stairwell frame the lift, and the window at the mid-landing floods it with natural light. He qualified for the full $6,800 VA HISA grant — we pre-filled VA Form 10-0103, the HISA coordinator at DeBakey approved it in four weeks, and he rolled onto the platform the afternoon of install. Zero out-of-pocket.

Common Questions

Everything Houston Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift actually cost in Houston right now?

Straight rails in a standard two-story Houston home — Bellaire, Oak Forest, Sugar Land colonials — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for split-levels, Heights bungalows with landing turns, and older River Oaks estates run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact stair geometry. Outdoor lifts for raised-pier front porches in the Heights or post-Harvey raised ranches in Meyerland run $4,000 to $7,500 depending on rise. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes the rail, seat, battery backup, install labor, and the first service visit. No Houston premium, no 'inside the Loop' surcharge.

We raised our Meyerland house 4 feet after Harvey. Now the front entry has 14 steps instead of 3. What are our options?

This is a retrofit we see constantly in Meyerland, Bellaire, and along Brays Bayou. The short answer: an outdoor straight rail or a vertical platform lift, depending on whether the person using it walks or uses a wheelchair. For walking users, a weather-sealed outdoor straight rail handles up to about 20 feet of rise easily. For wheelchair users we install a VPL at the side of the house with a keyed call station. Both get the standard Houston spec: battery backup rated for a week-long outage, UV upholstery, and a quick-release seat bracket so the motor can come inside before the next hurricane. Pricing runs $4,500 to $9,000 for the outdoor straight rail and $12,000 to $18,000 for the VPL, installed.

Is there a price difference between inside the Loop and the suburbs?

No. Our written Houston quote covers all of Harris and Fort Bend counties — the Heights, Montrose, Midtown, and River Oaks inside the Loop carry the same price as Sugar Land, Pearland, Katy, The Woodlands, and Kingwood outside it. We staff dedicated specialists in each sub-market so there's no travel premium added to a Cypress or Friendswood job. The only variable is the type of installation: straight rail, curved rail, outdoor, or platform lift. Stair geometry — not your ZIP code — drives the price.

Do you offer financing for Houston homeowners?

Yes — three lending partners with 0% APR for qualified buyers and low fixed-rate plans from $79/month. Application is a soft credit pull (no hit to your score), takes about 4 minutes, and approval is usually instant. Many Houston families combine financing with the IRS medical deduction or a partial VA HISA grant to bring the monthly payment down further. We walk you through the math during the free assessment — on paper, not a tablet screen you can't read.

A word from Luis

Half my Houston calls start with the same sentence: 'We just raised the house after Harvey and now Mom can't get up the front steps.' The other half are post-surgery families from the Texas Medical Center who need a lift running before a Friday discharge.

My promise: on-site within 24 hours across Harris and Fort Bend counties, a written quote honored for 30 days, and a battery backup spec'd for a week-long outage because we all remember Beryl. Atendemos en español — es la mitad de mis llamadas.
