Stairlift Service Across Spokane County

Spokane County, WA

From the midcentury ranches of Dishman along Sprague Avenue to the newer subdivisions of Veradale climbing the south hills, from the irrigated farmhouse lots of Greenacres along the Centennial Trail to the split-level developments of Opportunity near Pines Road, our team has measured staircases in every corner of the Valley. We know which Mirabeau homes have the narrow basement stairs that only fit a slim-profile rail, which Trentwood ranches have the exposed-concrete garage entry steps that need an outdoor model, and which Millwood cottages have the steep 14-riser runs that require mid-rail parking.

1962 Dishman ranch — straight rail on original oak basement stairs

Dishman, WA Installed March 2026

A 1962 ranch off Sprague Avenue in the old Dishman neighborhood — the kind of home the Valley was built on. Original oak treads on the basement stairs, a finished rec room downstairs with the family's only TV, and Mr. Kowalski hadn't been down there in four months after his second hip replacement. His wife called us on a Monday morning, and by Tuesday afternoon Luis was at the kitchen table with a tape measure and a quote. We bolted a straight rail into the treads without touching the original oak banister, matched the rail finish to the honey-gold grain, and walked both of them through the remotes before leaving. Mr. Kowalski rode down to watch the Gonzaga game that same evening.

90° landing turn in a 1971 Opportunity split-level

Opportunity, WA Installed February 2026

A 1971 split-level near Pines Road and Sprague — the most common staircase layout in the Valley. Six steps from the foyer to the main living level, a mid-landing with a 90-degree turn, then eight more steps up to the bedrooms. Mrs. Fenton's daughter drove over from Liberty Lake every morning to help her mother up the stairs after a broken ankle that healed slowly in the cold. We laser-scanned the staircase, fabricated a curved rail that rides the full run in a single continuous track, and installed a swivel-exit seat at the upper landing so Mrs. Fenton steps off onto the hallway carpet instead of the top tread.

1940s Greenacres cottage — straight rail along stone-walled stairwell

Greenacres, WA Installed January 2026

A 1940s cottage near the old Greenacres irrigation district with a stone-walled stairwell leading to the upper bedrooms. The treads were original fir, the riser height was uneven by a quarter-inch from 80 years of settling, and the stone walls made anchoring anything to the side impossible. We shimmed the rail brackets to compensate for the uneven risers, bolted the track into the fir treads only, and ran the wiring cleanly along the rail channel so nothing touches the stone. Mr. Dahl is a retired Fairchild Air Force Base mechanic — he inspected every bracket before he let us plug it in.

Veradale raised entry — outdoor rail on stone-paved front steps

Veradale, WA Installed December 2025

A 1990s home in the Veradale hills with a raised front entry — nine stone-paved steps from the driveway to the porch, exposed to full Spokane Valley winters. Mr. Murdock is a retired Army sergeant who qualifies for the VA HISA grant through Mann-Grandstaff. We prefilled VA Form 10-0103, the prescription came from his VA provider within four weeks, and installation was authorized the same month. The outdoor rail is marine-grade coated, the motor housing carries an IP55 weather seal, and we added a snow guard on the rail track because Valley winters dump six inches overnight without warning.

Mirabeau two-story — straight rail on carpeted stairs, three-hour install

Mirabeau, WA Installed November 2025

A 2004 two-story in the Mirabeau neighborhood near the CenterPlace event hall — wide stairs, level treads, wall-to-wall carpet, modern construction. The kind of install that goes fast. Mrs. Patterson had a spinal fusion scheduled at MultiCare Deaconess Hospital for the following month and wanted the lift working before she came home. We measured on Wednesday, installed on Friday, and she rode it from the front door to her upstairs bedroom eleven days later without ever putting weight on the stairs.

Platform Lift

Trentwood ranch — indoor wheelchair platform lift with yellow safety edges

Trentwood, WA Installed October 2025

A 1975 ranch in Trentwood where Mr. Reeves uses a power wheelchair full-time after a spinal cord injury sustained during his Army service. A seated stairlift was not an option — he needed to ride his chair onto the platform and travel between the main floor and the finished basement without transferring. We installed an indoor vertical platform lift with bright yellow safety edges on the platform perimeter, interlocked upper and lower gates, and a battery backup that holds the platform at any height during a power failure. The lift runs on a standard 120V outlet — no special wiring was needed.

Common Questions

Everything Spokane Valley Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift actually cost in Spokane Valley right now?

Straight rails in standard Spokane Valley homes — the split-levels in Opportunity, the ranches along Sprague, the two-stories in Veradale — run $2,800 to $5,400 installed. Curved rails for homes with mid-landing turns, common in 1960s and 1970s Dishman and Greenacres split-levels, run $8,800 to $14,500 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor models for raised entries and garage steps run $4,000 to $7,200. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, cold-weather battery backup rated to -20F, and the first service visit.

Are prices different in Spokane Valley than Spokane proper?

Equipment prices are identical across Spokane County — we don't charge more for a Veradale hilltop address or less for a Dishman ranch. What varies slightly is install labor for unusual conditions: compensating rail mounts for settled basement stairs in older Greenacres homes, or pulling an L&I electrical permit when a pre-1960 home needs a dedicated 120V circuit. We list the line items upfront. No surprise surcharges.

Does the cold-weather battery spec cost extra east of the Cascades?

No. Every stairlift we install in Spokane Valley ships with the cold-weather battery rated to -20F as a standing upgrade — not a $300 add-on like the national chains price it. Spokane Valley's winter lows regularly hit single digits, and the temperature swings between a 95F August afternoon and a -5F January morning destroy off-the-shelf lithium in two seasons. Our battery spec is built for this climate. It's included in every written quote.

Any hidden fees for 55+ community or HOA installs?

Our quote includes the HOA paperwork we handle for you. We've worked with 55+ communities across the Valley and in Liberty Lake, and the reasonable-accommodation letters under Washington's RCW 49.60 are already templated. What can occasionally add cost is when an HOA board requires its own engineer's letter. If that happens, we tell you before we start — not after.

A word from Luis

Most Spokane Valley families call me after a fall scare on basement stairs — a slip on the bare wood treads in a 1960s Dishman ranch, a parent who stopped going downstairs to the TV room after a knee replacement, a son in Boise worried about his father in a Veradale split-level he's lived in since 1978.

My job is simple: drive to your house within 24 hours, measure once, and give you a price that's honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. En español si lo prefiere.
