Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across Caddo County

Caddo County, LA

From the Highland neighborhood — where the 1910s–1930s Craftsman bungalows and Tudor Revivals have original heart-pine treads, steep stairwells, and homeowners who will quiz you on whether your license is current before letting you measure — to South Highlands, where the slightly larger estates from the same era have sweeping staircases that need color-matched rail finishes, our team has mapped every block. We know which Broadmoor subdivisions have the split-level entries that require curved rails, which Mooretown homes have the narrow stairwells that need the compact profile, and which Cross Lake properties have the raised porches where an outdoor rail solves the real accessibility problem.

1922 Highland Craftsman — straight rail color-matched to original heart-pine treads

Highland, LA Installed March 2026

A 1922 Craftsman bungalow in the Highland neighborhood with original heart-pine treads and a walnut banister the family has maintained for a century. Mrs. Washington had been sleeping in the parlor since a knee replacement at Willis-Knighton because the steep stairs were off-limits. We color-matched the rail to the existing wood grain, bolted into the treads only — never touched the banister or the original millwork — and installed in 3.5 hours. She slept in her own bedroom that night for the first time in six weeks.

1930s South Highlands Tudor Revival — curved rail with 90° landing turn past decorative newel

South Highlands, LA Installed February 2026

A 1930s Tudor Revival in South Highlands with a sweeping staircase, a 90-degree turn at the upper landing, and a decorative newel post the Caldwells refused to let anyone touch. Two other companies said they would have to remove the newel. We laser-scanned the entire run, fabricated a single continuous curved rail that threads past the newel without contact, and installed it in 5.5 hours. Mrs. Caldwell rides from the front hall to the bedrooms in one smooth trip. The newel post is untouched.

Mooretown bungalow — slim-profile rail in a 1940s narrow staircase beside original woodwork

Mooretown, LA Installed January 2026

A 1940s bungalow in Mooretown with a narrow staircase only 33 inches wide between the wall and the original wood banister. Mrs. Jenkins had been using a walking frame on the stairs and her daughter was terrified of a fall. We installed a slim-profile straight rail that folds to just 11 inches from the wall, leaving 22 inches of clear passage. The humidity-sealed motor has not needed a single service call since install. Mrs. Jenkins rides it four times a day and her daughter sleeps better knowing the stairs are no longer a daily risk.

Cross Lake raised porch — weather-sealed outdoor rail in Louisiana humidity

Cross Lake, LA Installed December 2025

A raised porch at Cross Lake with ten concrete steps exposed to year-round Louisiana humidity, summer heat above 100 degrees, and thunderstorms that dump inches in an hour. Mr. Fontenot is a retired Barksdale veteran with a service-connected disability. We installed a marine-grade outdoor stairlift with an IP55-sealed motor housing, stainless-steel fasteners rated for Gulf South conditions, and a lockable weather cover. The HISA grant through Overton Brooks VA covered $6,800. The rail has handled a full year of Louisiana weather without a single service call.

Broadmoor two-story — heavy-duty 450-lb unit on carpeted stairs with swivel exit

Broadmoor, LA Installed November 2025

A Broadmoor two-story ranch with carpeted stairs and a homeowner who needed a 450-lb weight capacity. Standard 300-lb models were not an option. We installed a heavy-duty straight rail with a reinforced dual-tube track, a 22-inch wide padded seat, and a powered swivel-exit at the top landing. The rail bolts through the carpet into the wooden treads beneath — no carpet removal, no damage. The humidity-sealed motor housing carries an IP55 rating because even indoor Shreveport stairwells reach attic-adjacent temperatures in summer.

Platform Lift

Bossier City split-entry — inclined wheelchair platform lift for full-time chair user

Bossier City, LA Installed October 2025

A split-entry home in Bossier City where Mr. Nguyen, a retired Barksdale NCO, uses a wheelchair full-time. A seated stairlift was not an option — he needed to ride his chair between floors. We installed two independent inclined platform lifts across a double half-flight: flat anti-slip platforms with yellow safety edges, white handrails, and keyed lockouts. The HISA grant covered the full $6,800 service-connected maximum. Four steps from the garage to the living room used to take 20 minutes with help. Now it takes 30 seconds.

Common Questions

Everything Shreveport Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift actually cost in the Shreveport area right now?

Straight rails in standard Shreveport homes — the Craftsman bungalows in Highland, the Tudors in South Highlands, the ranches in Broadmoor — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails, needed for split-level entries and the occasional Craftsman staircase with a landing turn, run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact geometry. Outdoor models for raised porches and side entries run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, humidity-sealed battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are prices different in Shreveport than Baton Rouge or New Orleans?

Equipment prices are the same across Louisiana. What varies is install labor for unusual conditions: preserving original Craftsman millwork in Highland, humidity-sealed motor upgrades that ship standard on every Caddo Parish install, and the LSLBC licensing paperwork that Louisiana requires and that unlicensed national chains skip at your risk. We tell you the line items upfront.

Is a stairlift cheaper than moving to a single-story home?

Moving costs in Caddo Parish — real estate commission, closing costs, packing, new deposit — typically run $12,000 to $25,000 minimum. A straight stairlift installs in under four hours for $2,800 to $5,500 and lets you stay in the home you have lived in for decades, in the neighborhood you know, near your doctors and church. For most Shreveport families, the stairlift costs less than the real estate commission alone.

Do you charge extra for Spanish-language service?

No. Every Caddo Parish assessment can be conducted in Spanish at your request — Luis is bilingual and has walked families through every line of the paperwork in their preferred language. Every printed quote, consent form, and operating manual is available in Spanish. Zero surcharge.

A word from Luis

Most Shreveport families call me after a near-miss — a slip on the original hardwood stairs of a Highland Craftsman, a parent who stopped going upstairs after a hip replacement, a son in Dallas worried about his mother in a South Highlands home she's lived in since the 1960s.

My job is simple: drive to your house within 24 hours, measure once, and give you a price that's honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. En español si lo prefiere.
