Stairlift Service Across Salt Lake County

Salt Lake County, UT

From the split-level ramblers of Fort Union — the 1970s and 1980s brick homes between 7000 South and 9000 South where half-flight staircases are standard — to the newer construction climbing the bench near Bell Canyon and Dimple Dell, where two-story homes with full 14-step runs are the norm, our team has measured every staircase type Sandy builds. We know which Alta Canyon Village floor plans have the narrow hallway landing that requires a swivel-exit seat, which Hidden Valley and Willow Creek homes sit on lots steep enough to need an outdoor porch lift for the front entry, and which Crescent Heights 55+ condos require architectural committee approval before we drill a single bracket. South toward Draper and east toward Cottonwood Heights, the housing stock shifts to larger lots and steeper driveways — but the staircases inside follow the same Wasatch suburban pattern we have been fitting since 2009.

Straight

Dimple Dell rambler — straight rail on original red oak treads

Dimple Dell, UT Installed March 2026

A 1982 rambler on a bench lot above Dimple Dell Regional Park with original red oak treads and a walnut-stained banister the homeowners refinished themselves twelve years ago. Mrs. Sorensen had a total knee replacement at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray and her orthopedic surgeon told the family she should not be climbing the eight-step run between the main floor and the lower bedrooms for at least three months. Her daughter called us on a Thursday. We measured Friday morning, confirmed the straight run was unobstructed, and installed the following Tuesday. The rail is bolted into the oak treads — never into the wall, never into the banister. Mr. Sorensen tested every button himself before we left and asked us to show his wife twice. She has used it every day since the surgery and the oak treads underneath are untouched.

Bell Canyon two-story — curved rail with 90° upper landing turn

Bell Canyon, UT Installed February 2026

A 1990s two-story in the Bell Canyon foothills with a 90-degree turn at the upper landing and a narrow hallway that left zero room for a standard dismount. Every other company the Lindquists called said they would need two separate straight rails with a transfer platform at the landing. We laser-scanned the full staircase during the first visit, fabricated a single curved rail that carries from the foyer to the upstairs hallway in one continuous ride, and added a powered swivel-exit seat so Mrs. Lindquist steps off directly onto the hallway carpet instead of balancing on the top tread. The temperature-swing gasket kit on the motor housing has already handled a full Wasatch winter without a service call. One ride, zero transfers, zero modifications to their drywall.

Fort Union split-level — straight rail in compact traditional home beside hallway credenza

Fort Union, UT Installed January 2026

A 1974 split-level in the Fort Union area with a compact, traditional interior — the kind of Sandy home where the bottom of the staircase opens onto a narrow hallway with a wooden credenza and a small lamp. Mrs. Nolan is 81 and lives alone. Her son in Cottonwood Heights had been driving over every morning to help her up the six steps between the foyer and the main living level. The treads are a mix of original stone tile at the entry and carpet on the upper steps. We mounted the straight rail flush to the treads, confirmed the brown-upholstered seat clears the credenza when parked at the bottom, and verified the folded footrest leaves the hallway passable. Three hours start to finish. Her son stopped making the morning drive the day after install.

Hidden Valley entry — outdoor lift on stone-paved front steps

Hidden Valley, UT Installed December 2025

A 1990s home in Hidden Valley with a steep front entry — seven stone-paved steps from the driveway to the front porch. Mr. Takemura is a retired Air Force veteran who qualified for a HISA grant through the George E. Wahlen VA Medical Center on Foothill Drive. We prefilled VA Form 10-0103, the prescription came back in four weeks, and installation was authorized ten days later. The outdoor rail is anchored through the stone pavers into the concrete substrate, sealed against the freeze-thaw cycles that crack exposed hardware along the Wasatch Front every winter, and coated with UV-resistant finish for the high-altitude sun. The dry-air lubricant holds from -10°F January mornings through 100°F July afternoons without reapplication. Mr. Takemura uses it twice a day and has not called for service once.

Alta Canyon Village — straight rail on deep-pile carpeted stairs

Alta Canyon, UT Installed November 2025

A newer rambler in Alta Canyon Village with a full basement accessed by a carpeted 12-step run — thick, deep-pile Berber that the previous owner installed in 2018. Mr. Christensen had a stroke in September and his physical therapist at Intermountain Sandy Clinic told the family he should avoid stairs for six months minimum. His daughter found us through the Sandy Senior Center on 1300 East, where a Salt Lake County Aging & Adult Services counselor mentioned the New Choices Waiver. We measured on a Wednesday, confirmed the straight run and the carpet thickness for bracket depth, and installed the following Monday. The rail mounts through the carpet into the plywood subfloor beneath — no carpet removal, no exposed tack strips. Mr. Christensen rides down to his workshop in the basement every morning and back up for dinner.

Platform Lift

Willow Creek split-level — indoor wheelchair platform lift with yellow safety edges

Willow Creek, UT Installed October 2025

A 1978 split-level in Willow Creek where the four-step rise between the garage entry and the main living level was the only barrier keeping Mrs. Ballard from staying in her home. She uses a power wheelchair full-time after a spinal cord injury and a seated stairlift was not an option — she needed to roll on, ride up, and roll off without leaving the chair. We installed an indoor vertical platform lift with bright yellow safety edges on the platform and at both landings, a fold-down ramp at the lower level, and an automatic gate at the upper level that locks until the platform is flush. The entire unit runs on standard 120V household power and the battery backup carried through a December windstorm that knocked out power in the neighborhood for six hours. Mrs. Ballard's occupational therapist at the University of Utah signed off on the install during a follow-up visit and called it the cleanest platform lift she had seen in a residential setting.

Common Questions

Everything Sandy Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Sandy right now?

Straight rails in standard Sandy homes — the split-level ramblers in Fort Union, the bench homes near Dimple Dell, the newer two-stories in Bell Canyon — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails, which you will need for most 1970s split-levels with a mid-landing turn, run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor lifts for stone-paved front entries run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes the rail, seat, altitude-rated battery backup, installation, and the first service visit.

Are Sandy prices higher because of the newer housing stock?

Equipment prices are the same whether you live in a 1974 Fort Union split-level or a 2020 Bell Canyon two-story. What varies slightly is install labor for unusual conditions: compensating bracket mounts for the mixed stone-and-carpet treads common in Sandy split-level foyers, or the extra scan time for a tight 90-degree landing turn. We quote every line item upfront. No Wasatch Front premium, no altitude surcharge.

Is there a price difference between a straight and curved rail?

Yes, and it is significant. A straight rail uses a standard-length aluminum track that we cut on-site — fast to install, lower cost. A curved rail is custom-fabricated from a laser scan of your exact staircase, shipped from the manufacturer, and installed as a single piece. The fabrication step adds 10-14 days and roughly doubles the price. In Sandy, about 35% of our installs require a curved rail because of the split-level housing stock.

Do you offer financing for Sandy homeowners?

Yes — three lending partners with 0% APR for qualified buyers and fixed-rate plans from $79 per month. The application is a soft credit pull that does not hit your score, takes about four minutes, and approval is usually instant. Many Sandy families combine financing with a partial HISA grant or the IRS medical deduction to reduce the monthly payment further. We walk through the math at your kitchen table during the free assessment.

A word from Luis

Most Sandy families call me after a parent slips on the carpeted stairs in a 1970s split-level rambler — the kind of house built for a young family that's now home to the same couple fifty years later. A daughter in Draper phones because her father in the Dimple Dell area hasn't been upstairs in three weeks. A veteran in Fort Union gets a referral from the George E. Wahlen VA Medical Center and wants to know if the HISA grant actually covers the full install.

My job: drive to your house, measure your staircase, and hand you a written price that's good for 30 days. No pressure. No add-ons. En español si lo prefiere.
