Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across Hamilton County

Hamilton County, OH

We cover all of Reading. Reading East, the northeast quadrant, has the highest concentration of mid-century ranches and split-levels with 36-inch stairs and original oak treads — straight-rail territory. Vorhees Town, the historic core around the 1798 plat near Benson and Reading Road, holds Italianates and early foursquares with narrower staircases that sometimes need a custom rail bend. The Koenig Park area along West Columbia Avenue has 1940s bungalows and Capes near Mill Creek where outdoor porch lifts are common. The Hunt Road corridor up north runs to 1950s–1970s colonials with carpeted stairs, and the Bridal District on Benson Street mixes storefronts with attached residences on tight interior stairwells.

Straight

Reading East ranch — straight rail on original oak treads

Reading East, OH Installed March 2026

A mid-century ranch off Jefferson Avenue, built in 1964, with original oak treads. The client's 78-year-old father had stopped using the upstairs bathroom after a hip fracture. We bolted the straight rail to the treads in three hours and the beige seat parked at the bottom; he climbed the stairs independently by dinner the same day.

Vorhees Town foursquare — curved rail at the upper landing

Vorhees Town Historic District, OH Installed February 2026

A 1920s foursquare on Market Street with a 90-degree turn at the upper landing and narrow 31-inch treads where a standard rail wouldn't clear the turn. We laser-measured Tuesday and installed the custom-bent rail Friday morning, parking the seat at the top out of the downstairs sightline. The chandelier over the landing stayed untouched.

Koenig Park Cape — compact rail on tile treads

Koenig Park area, OH Installed April 2026

A compact Cape Cod on West Columbia Avenue with stone tile treads and a narrow staircase. We mounted a slim-profile rail to the tile with masonry anchors, and the brown seat folds up to within 12 inches of the wall when not in use. The wooden sideboard at the base of the stairs never had to move.

Outdoor

Hunt Road corridor — outdoor porch lift, freeze-thaw rated

Hunt Road corridor, OH Installed October 2025

A Hunt Road colonial with a stone-paved front porch — five steps up from the walkway with no cover. We set an IP55-rated outdoor seat sealed for Ohio Valley freeze-thaw and road salt. The remote calls the lift down from inside the door, and two winters in there's been zero rust and zero stuck rail.

Bridal District duplex — carpeted stairs

Bridal District corridor, OH Installed January 2026

A two-story duplex on Benson Street with wall-to-wall beige carpet on the stairs and a tiled floor at the base. We matched the seat upholstery to the carpet tone and clamped the brackets over the carpet with no visible subfloor penetration. The client's mother reclaimed her upstairs bedroom the same day, after six months on a ground-floor sofa.

Platform Lift

Pike Street Cape — indoor wheelchair platform

Pike Street area, OH Installed May 2026

A Pike Street Cape for a full-time wheelchair user following a spinal injury. The straight 14-foot staircase is 36 inches wide, so we installed an indoor platform lift with a flat black deck and yellow safety edges rated to 600 lb. He rolls on at the bottom, rides up independently, and rolls off at the top; the platform folds up against the wall when not in use.

Common Questions

Everything Reading Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

How much does a stairlift cost in Reading, Ohio?

A straight stairlift starts at $2,800 installed. Curved lifts begin at $9,000 due to custom rail bending after on-site laser measurement. Outdoor lifts start at $4,000 with sealed components — important given Ohio Valley ice and road salt. Heavy-duty lifts rated to 600 lb start at $5,050. All include a DC motor with battery backup giving about six hours of runtime during outages. Free in-home assessments are offered.

What affects stairlift pricing in Reading specifically?

Three factors: stair width — pre-1900 Vorhees Town homes may have staircases under 30 inches, requiring a narrower or custom rail; turn geometry — 90-degree landing turns are standard, but continuous curved bends cost more; and indoor versus outdoor, since outdoor lifts need an upgraded weather seal. Most Reading ranches and colonials built after 1950 have standard 36-inch stairs and qualify for base straight-rail pricing.

Do you offer financing for a stairlift in Reading?

Yes — financing starts at $79/month with no prepayment penalty. The application takes about 15 minutes and can be done during your in-home assessment. Most Reading customers choose a 36-month term, and major credit cards are also accepted.

Is a stairlift cheaper than moving to a single-story home in Reading?

By a substantial margin. The median home price in Reading is roughly $173,000; selling a two-story to buy a single-level home means closing costs, moving expenses, and a lot of upheaval. A straight stairlift at $2,800 lets your parent stay in a familiar home. Even a curved lift at $9,000 is a fraction of the cost of moving.

A word from Luis

Reading's housing stock runs the full timeline, and that's the first thing I size up. I've put lifts into 1880s Italianates over near Market Street and 1950s Capes off Hunt Road, and the older homes are the ones where you really need to check the stair width before quoting.

Some of those pre-1900 Vorhees Town staircases come in under 30 inches, and you're looking at a custom rail. But most Reading homes built after 1940 — the ranches and colonials out in Reading East — have standard 36-inch dimensions, and we're in and out in three hours. Either way the rail bolts to the treads, so the stairs go back to normal the day it comes out.

— Luis Ramírez, Reading
Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

If your mom lives in a 1950s Cape off Hunt Road or a century home near Market Street, the question isn't whether a stairlift fits — it's which model and which funding route. A straight rail starts at $2,800 and installs in about three hours; a curved rail runs from $9,000 and takes a morning after the one-hour laser measurement.

Both come with the DC motor and battery backup that matter here in Ohio Valley winters, when an ice storm can cut power for hours. Call Luis Ramírez at (800) 965-0350 for a free in-home assessment, and we'll map out PASSPORT and VA HISA funding for you.
