Stairlift Service Across Jefferson County

Jefferson County, WA

Port Ludlow's residential layout follows its shoreline topography. The North Bay and South Bay Estates areas cluster around the marina, with many homes built into sloping lots that require stairs from garage to main living level. Olympic Terrace sits higher on the hillside with views of the Olympic Mountains — these newer homes often have interior staircases of 13 to 16 steps. Teal Lake Village and Timberton offer single-level and split-level homes set back in the woods, while Trails End and Ludlow Cove cottage homes sit close to the water with exterior entry stairs common. Across all Port Ludlow neighborhoods, the master-planned resort layout means most homes were constructed between 1970 and 2005, with stair geometry that predates modern accessibility standards.

Dark Oak Treads, Hillside Views — Olympic Terrace

Olympic Terrace, WA Installed March 2026

The Harrisons' Olympic Terrace home sits high on the hillside with a 14-step dark oak staircase running from the entry to the main floor — standard for the view-facing lots in this part of Port Ludlow. We bolted the straight rail directly to the oak treads, parking the beige seat at the bottom landing. No wall work, no drywall patching. Install was 2.5 hours.

90° Curve at the Upper Landing — North Bay Contemporary

North Bay, WA Installed January 2026

The Chens' North Bay contemporary has a curved staircase wrapping 90° around a half-wall at the upper landing, with a brass chandelier overhead. Our laser measurement captured the exact bend geometry, and the custom rail was manufactured off-site. The brown seat parks at the top floor, letting Mrs. Chen reach the master bedroom without managing the turn on foot. Five-hour install.

Stone Treads, Cottage Fit — Teal Lake Village

Teal Lake Village, WA Installed February 2026

A compact Teal Lake Village cottage with stone-tread stairs next to a wooden sideboard cabinet. The 34-inch stair width ruled out bulkier models, but our slim-rail straight lift fit cleanly. Brown seat at the bottom, rail anchored into the stone treads. The homeowner's mother can now reach the upstairs bedroom without assistance. Three hours from arrival to final test.

Stone Entry, Salt-Air Tough — South Bay Estates

South Bay Estates, WA Installed April 2026

A South Bay Estates waterfront home where the front entry sits eight stone steps above the driveway. We installed a weather-sealed outdoor stairlift with the cream seat at the porch level — marine-grade components, IP55-rated against Puget Sound salt air and wind-driven rain. The homeowner, a retired ferry captain, now enters through the front door year-round, even during December windstorms.

Carpeted Treads, Seamless Match — Timberton Split-Level

Timberton, WA Installed May 2026

In a Timberton split-level, the carpeted stairs matched the brown upholstered seat nearly tone for tone. The rail mounts through the carpet into the treads — no cutting, no adhesive damage, no carpet replacement needed. Seat parks at the tiled-floor landing. Mr. Davis had stopped using the upstairs den after a fall scare; he's back up there every afternoon now. Three-hour bolt-through install.

Wheelchair Access to the Second Floor — Trails End

Trails End, WA Installed March 2026

A Trails End homeowner who uses a wheelchair full-time needed indoor access to the second floor. We installed an inclined platform lift with a flat black deck, yellow safety edges, and a white handrail that rides the existing staircase — no structural changes. The wheelchair rolls directly onto the platform at the bottom, safety arms fold up, and the lift carries 600 lb up the flight. Six-hour install.

Common Questions

Everything Port Ludlow Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Port Ludlow?

Straight stairlifts in Port Ludlow start at $2,800, curved at $9,000, outdoor at $4,000, and heavy-duty at $5,050. These prices include the in-home assessment, the rail, the seat, installation, and the five-year warranty with lifetime rail coverage. There is no travel surcharge for the Olympic Peninsula — we serve Port Ludlow, Port Townsend, Chimacum, and all of Jefferson County without added trip fees.

Why do curved stairlifts cost more than straight ones in Port Ludlow homes?

Curved rails are custom-bent to match your exact stair geometry — every turn, landing, and angle is unique. The process starts with a one-hour laser measurement in your Port Ludlow home, then the rail is manufactured off-site to those exact specifications. Installation takes four to six hours instead of two to three. Many hillside homes in Olympic Terrace and North Bay have staircase turns where a straight rail won't work, which is why we see a higher percentage of curved installs here than in flatter communities.

Are there hidden costs for stairlift installation in Port Ludlow?

No. The quote you receive after the free in-home assessment is all-in — it covers the rail, the powered seat, installation labor, the battery backup, and the warranty. We do not charge travel fees to Port Ludlow or anywhere on the Olympic Peninsula. The only additional cost you might encounter is if you choose to add a power swivel seat or a powered footrest, both of which are optional and quoted separately before installation.

Does All American Stairlifts offer financing for Port Ludlow residents?

Yes. Financing starts at $79 per month with approved credit. The application takes about ten minutes online and most approvals come through same-day. There is no prepayment penalty. Many Port Ludlow families combine financing with a HISA grant or COPES waiver coverage to reduce the out-of-pocket amount.

A word from Luis

Port Ludlow is a unique install territory. A lot of the homes were built for retirees back in the 1970s and 80s as part of Pope & Talbot's original master plan — they were thinking about views, not about what happens when you're 78 and can't climb 15 steps to the bedroom. The hillside lots around Olympic Terrace and North Bay mean we see a lot of staircases that run from the garage entry up to the main living floor. On the flip side, Timberton and Teal Lake have more single-level homes, but still plenty of split-levels with half-flights.

I'd say about six out of ten installs we do here are straight rails on those interior staircases — the rest are curved for homes with landings, or outdoor lifts for folks whose front entry is up a flight of stone steps from the driveway. The wind-storm season from November through February is the one thing I always bring up during assessments. Every lift we put in on the Peninsula has battery backup, because when a winter storm knocks out power here, it can stay out for a day or two.

— Luis Ramírez, Port Ludlow
Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

Port Ludlow's master-planned resort layout is part of what makes it a beautiful place to retire — and also what makes its staircases a challenge as residents age. The hillside lots, the 1970s-era split-levels, and the view-facing multi-story designs all create stairs that weren't built with mobility in mind. Luis and the install team have put lifts into every neighborhood from Olympic Terrace to Trails End, and they know the local housing stock cold.

Whether you need a straight rail for a Timberton split-level, a curved lift for a North Bay contemporary with a landing turn, or an outdoor unit for stone entry steps in South Bay Estates, the assessment is free and the install is same-week. Battery backup comes standard — because on the Olympic Peninsula, the next wind storm is always around the corner.
