Stairlift Service Across Johnson County

Johnson County, KS

Downtown Overland Park's 1940s-1950s cottages have the narrowest stair widths in Johnson County — 28 inches wall-to-wall — requiring our slim-profile rail. Blue Valley two-stories built after 2000 have standard 36-inch carpeted runs that install in under four hours. Brookridge split-levels from the 1960s almost always need a curved rail for the 90° mid-landing turn. Indian Creek estates have formal mahogany staircases where rail-finish matching matters. Deer Creek colonials have standard straight runs with carpeted treads. South Overland Park's newer construction often has raised garage entries needing outdoor-rated lifts. We also cover Leawood, Olathe, Prairie Village, Lenexa, and Merriam — same-day service, no travel fee.

Blue Valley two-story — straight rail on oak treads, installed before discharge

Blue Valley, KS Installed March 2026

A 2001 two-story in the Blue Valley area with dark oak open-tread stairs and every bedroom on the second floor. Mrs. Palmer was recovering from a knee replacement at Overland Park Regional and needed the lift operating before discharge. We bolted a straight rail to the hardwood treads on the right side, positioned the beige seat at the bottom landing where it parks flush against the newel post, and had it running the same week. The warm wood tones of the oak staircase complement the cream-colored seat — a detail the family appreciated in their front hall.

Brookridge split-level — curved rail around the landing with swivel exit

Brookridge, KS Installed February 2026

A 1964 split-level in Brookridge with the classic layout — a half-flight from the foyer, a 90° turn at the mid-landing, then eight more steps to the bedrooms. Another company told the Andersons they'd need two separate lifts. We laser-scanned the staircase, fabricated a single curved rail that bends around the half-wall balustrade at the upper floor, and installed a powered swivel-exit seat so Mrs. Anderson steps directly onto the hallway. The brown-upholstered seat parks at the top landing beneath the chandelier, blending with the modern interior.

Indian Creek estate — compact straight rail beside the mahogany sideboard

Indian Creek, KS Installed January 2026

An Indian Creek estate with stone-tiled treads and a traditional mahogany sideboard at the base of the stairs. The Mitchells wanted the stairlift to disappear into the decor of their compact, cottage-style lower hallway. We mounted the straight rail tight to the wall, positioned the brown-upholstered seat so it parks right next to the wooden sideboard and the potted plant without blocking the narrow passage. The stone treads and warm traditional furnishings give the space a Mediterranean feel that the slim-profile rail preserves.

South OP raised porch — outdoor lift on stone-paved entry steps

South Overland Park, KS Installed December 2025

A south Overland Park home with a raised front porch and rough natural stone paving at the entry. Mr. Harris has Parkinson's and the five stone steps between the driveway and the front door were the most dangerous transition in his daily routine. We anchored the outdoor rail into the stone paving, mounted the cream weather-resistant seat with a carpeted outdoor tread at the bottom step, and sealed every component against Kansas winter ice and summer storms. Natural daylight floods the covered porch from above, and the lockable key switch at the base prevents unauthorized use.

Downtown OP cottage — straight rail on carpeted stairs, every inch counted

Downtown Overland Park, KS Installed November 2025

A 1952 cottage near Downtown Overland Park with the narrowest carpeted stair width we've encountered in Johnson County — 28 inches wall to wall. Mr. Webb was told by two other companies that the stairs were too narrow. We bolted the slim-profile rail through the brown carpet into the tread wood beneath, positioned the brown-upholstered seat at the landing where it matches the carpet tones, and added a folding footrest that tucks flat. The wall-mounted light switches at the turn remain accessible, and the 24 inches of usable width when parked keeps the stairs compliant.

Platform Lift

Deer Creek home — indoor wheelchair platform lift for full-time chair user

Deer Creek, KS Installed October 2025

A Deer Creek home with an indoor stairway and warm orange-terracotta walls. Mrs. Burke's father uses a wheelchair full-time and cannot transfer to a seated stairlift. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift with a flat black anti-slip platform and yellow high-visibility safety edges. The white handrail guides the platform along the indoor stairway past the window, carrying the wheelchair and rider together. This is not a seated stairlift — it is a flat platform designed for riders who remain in their wheelchair for the entire trip.

Common Questions

Everything Overland Park Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift actually cost in Overland Park right now?

Straight rails in standard Overland Park homes — the Blue Valley two-stories, the Deer Creek colonials, the newer south-of-135th developments — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails, which you'll need for most 1960s Brookridge, Indian Creek, and Prairie Village split-levels with a 90° landing, run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor models run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are prices different in Overland Park than in other KC suburbs?

Equipment prices are the same across the KC metro — we don't inflate quotes for Mission Hills addresses or discount them for Olathe. What varies is the install type: the 1960s split-levels in north OP almost always need a curved rail, while the 2000s two-stories in south OP are usually straight. The rail type drives the price, not the zip code.

Do you charge extra for Spanish-language service?

No. Every Johnson County assessment can be conducted in Spanish at your request. Every printed quote, consent form, and operating manual is also available in Spanish. Zero surcharge.

Any hidden fees for HOA or 55+ community installs?

Our quote includes the HOA paperwork we handle for you. Johnson County master-planned communities and country-club neighborhoods in Leawood and Mission Hills have architectural review committees, but the federal Fair Housing Act requires reasonable accommodation for disabled residents. We provide the documentation packet at no charge.

A word from Luis

Most Overland Park families call me after a quiet realization — a parent who stopped going upstairs to the bonus room, a spouse who now sleeps in the recliner because the bedroom is on the second floor, a daughter across town who noticed her mother gripping the banister with both hands on Thanksgiving.

My job is simple: drive to your house within 24 hours, measure once, and give you a price that's honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. En español si lo prefiere.
