Stairlift Service Across Johnson County

Johnson County, KS

From Old Town near the Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop — pre-war bungalows and 1950s ranches with narrow hardwood treads where the conversation is always about preserving original woodwork and fitting a rail into a tight stairwell — to the Cedar Creek master-planned community off 119th Street, where custom foyer staircases with open risers and iron balusters require careful bracket placement, our team has mapped every Olathe subdivision.

Old Town Olathe bungalow — straight rail on original oak treads

Old Town, KS Installed March 2026

A 1948 bungalow three blocks from the Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop with original red oak treads and a narrow stairwell. Mrs. Henderson had been sleeping on the couch since Thanksgiving after a fall on the third step. We bolted the straight rail directly into the dark hardwood treads on the right side, color-matched the finish to the existing stain, and parked the beige seat at the bottom landing next to the bookshelf her late husband built. The rail clears the bookshelf by three inches.

Cedar Creek custom home — curved rail with swivel exit at upper landing

Cedar Creek, KS Installed February 2026

A 2004 custom home in Cedar Creek with a dramatic foyer staircase and a sweeping turn at the upper landing. Mr. Walsh had both knees replaced at Olathe Health in December. We laser-scanned the full staircase, fabricated a curved rail that follows the bend around the half-wall at the upper floor, and installed a brown-upholstered swivel-exit seat so he steps off onto the hallway hardwood. The chandelier above and framed art on the stairwell wall stayed untouched.

Canyon Creek colonial — straight rail past stone-veneer wainscoting

Canyon Creek, KS Installed January 2026

A 1994 two-story colonial in Canyon Creek with decorative stone-veneer wainscoting along the stairwell wall and a compact traditional layout. Mr. Becker's mother moved in after a stroke and the family needed a lift that wouldn't damage the stone trim. We mounted the straight rail into the stone-look tile treads next to the wooden sideboard, routing the track so the brown-upholstered seat clears the wainscoting by two inches on each pass. The cottage-like feel of the compact stairwell is completely preserved.

Heritage Park raised entry — weather-sealed outdoor lift on stone paving

Heritage Park, KS Installed December 2025

A late-1990s two-story in Heritage Park with a raised front entry and five exterior stone-paved steps with full exposure to Kansas weather. Mr. Thompson is a retired Army officer who qualified for a HISA grant through the Eisenhower VA in Leavenworth. We installed a cream weather-resistant seat on the rough natural stone paving, anchored the rail base into the stone entry floor, and sealed every component against the sub-zero Kansas winters and 105-degree summer highs. The carpeted outdoor tread at the bottom provides grip in icy conditions.

Straight

Black Bob Park colonial — straight rail on carpeted stairs

Black Bob Park, KS Installed November 2025

A 1987 two-story colonial along Black Bob Road with carpeted stairs and a landing area. Mrs. Olson had been carrying laundry downstairs one step at a time, gripping the railing with both hands. We mounted the straight rail through the carpet into the subfloor — no carpet removal, no re-stretching. The brown-upholstered seat matches the carpet tones at the landing, and the wall-mounted light switches remain fully accessible with the chair folded flat.

Platform Lift

Prairie Ridge home — indoor wheelchair platform lift with yellow safety edges

Prairie Ridge, KS Installed October 2025

A 2006 home in Prairie Ridge where Mr. Davis uses a power wheelchair full-time after a workplace accident and cannot transfer to a seated stairlift. We installed an indoor inclined wheelchair platform lift with a flat black anti-slip platform and yellow high-visibility safety edges along both sides. The white handrail guides the platform along the indoor stairway past the window, with interlocked upper and lower gates for safety. His OT from Kansas Rehab Hospital cleared the installation the same week.

Common Questions

Everything Olathe Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Olathe right now?

Straight rails in standard Olathe homes — the 1980s colonials along Black Bob Road, the Canyon Creek two-stories, the Old Town bungalows — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for the sweeping foyer staircases in Cedar Creek custom homes and the landing turns in Heritage Park two-stories run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor lifts rated for the full Kansas temperature range run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, 72-hour battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are prices different in Cedar Creek than the rest of Olathe?

Equipment prices are identical across Johnson County — we don't inflate quotes for Cedar Creek or Leawood addresses. What can vary is install labor for unusual conditions: threading a curved rail past iron balusters and open risers in a Cedar Creek custom foyer, or shimming brackets in an Old Town bungalow where 75 years of Kansas freeze-thaw has settled the treads a quarter-inch. We itemize those line items upfront. No surprise surcharges.

Does the 72-hour battery backup cost extra?

No. Every Kansas install ships with a 72-hour extended-backup battery, cold-rated LiFePO4 cells certified to -20°F, and a surge-and-brownout-rated charge module — all standard, no upcharge. Kansas grid instability during thunderstorms and ice events is not optional risk; it's expected. The extended battery alone prevents roughly 80% of the storm-season service calls other companies deal with.

Is there a price difference between new and refurbished stairlifts in Olathe?

Refurbished straight-rail units run roughly 30-40% less than new — typically $1,800 to $3,400 installed in Olathe. We carry certified refurbished inventory with the same 2-year parts warranty as new. Curved rails for Cedar Creek and Heritage Park staircases are almost always new because they're custom-manufactured to your staircase geometry. During your free assessment Luis will show you both options side by side so you can compare the actual cost difference for your specific stairs.

A word from Luis

Most Olathe families call me after someone has already reorganized the entire house to avoid the stairs — a mother in Cedar Creek sleeping in the guest room on the main floor, a retired Fort Leavenworth officer in Old Town whose wife drives him to the VA clinic in Leavenworth every month but can't get him safely to the second-floor bedroom anymore.

My job: drive out within 24 hours, measure your staircase, hand you a written price good for 30 days. No pressure, no upsells.
