Common Questions

Everything New Lenox Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in New Lenox, IL?

A straight stairlift in New Lenox starts at $2,800 fully installed. Curved rails for the rare turn in Cherry Hill 1990s additions or Old Plank Trail corridor ranch additions start at $9,000. Outdoor units start at $4,000, heavy-duty up to 600 lb at $5,050. Final price depends on rail length, turn count, and whether the staircase is a standard Bluestone Bay townhome run or a 1960s slab ranch addition.

Are there hidden fees on a New Lenox stairlift install?

No. The signed quote covers rail, motor, seat, install labor, runner removal if needed, and the 5-year warranty. The one common add-on is the heavy-duty battery upgrade ($120) for the February ice-storm ComEd outages — most Will County families take this option after seeing one polar-vortex winter.

What's the monthly payment on a New Lenox stairlift?

Financing starts at $79/month with 0% APR through Synchrony, subject to credit approval. A $2,800 straight install at 60 months runs about $79/mo; a $9,000 curved at 84 months runs about $130/mo. We run your rate during the in-home estimate so the number is firm before you commit. No trip charge from our Joliet-corridor crew.

Does Medicare cover stairlifts in Will County?

No — Medicare Part A and B do not cover stairlifts in Illinois because they are classified as home modifications, not durable medical equipment. The Illinois HCBS Persons with Disabilities Waiver (PD Waiver) covers them through its environmental accessibility adaptations benefit for qualified members, and the VA HISA grant covers up to $6,800 for service-connected veterans through the Joliet VA Clinic at 1201 Eagle Street.

A word from Luis

New Lenox is a different Will County than Joliet. The village tripled in size between 1990 and 2020, and most of what I install here is in a two-story 1995-2015 home in Bluestone Bay south of Lincoln Highway, Cherry Hill off Cherry Hill Road, Walker Country Estates north of Francis Road, or one of the dozen Lincoln-Way East and Central feeder subdivisions. Standard 36-inch staircases, modern carpeted treads, finished basements common in this part of the county. The older mid-century ranches near the Old Plank Trail corridor are a different problem — 1950s-60s slab homes with a single short interior run, framing that has flexed through 60 Illinois freeze-thaw cycles.

The biggest local difference here is the Lake Michigan lake-effect band. New Lenox is ~50 miles SW of the lakefront, far enough that we get heavy snow loads but not the worst of the squalls — still enough that I quote a sealed battery backup for the ComEd outages that follow every February ice storm, and a charge rail that holds 18-plus cycles. Illinois HCBS Persons with Disabilities Waiver (the correct PD Waiver name — never just 'Medicaid waiver') covers the install for qualified members, and I send every Will County HISA application to the Joliet VA Clinic at 1201 Eagle Street.

Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

New Lenox is mostly newer Bluestone Bay and Walker Country Estates tract construction with standard staircases, but the older Old Plank Trail corridor and 1950s-60s ranches near the village center need a different rail and a different conversation. We measure your actual stairs, quote what fits the Will County reality, and walk you through Illinois HCBS PD Waiver or HISA before the install date.

If your parent in Bluestone Bay or off Cherry Hill Road is starting to skip the stairs, call (800) 965-0350. We come out from the Joliet corridor, take real measurements, and give you a firm number — including whether the PD Waiver's home-modifications benefit or the Joliet VA Clinic's HISA grant will cover the install.
