The right fit for Orland Park colonials, bilevels, and the half-flight drop that’s become the problem. More than 70% of our Orland Park installs are straight rails. Whether it’s the main 14-to-16-step run in a Spring Creek or Silo Ridge colonial, the half-flight bilevel drop in an Old Orland ranch, or the basement entry in a Wolf Road corridor split-level, the rail bolts into the stair treads only — no wall contact, no banister alteration.

Silo Ridge colonial — straight rail, original oak banister preserved

Silo Ridge, IL Installed March 2026

A 1990 Silo Ridge colonial with a 16-step main run and original oak banister the family would not alter under any circumstances. Mr. Kowalski is 81 and had been sleeping in the first-floor den since November rather than attempt the stairs after dark. We bolted the slim-profile rail into the dark hardwood stair treads only, matched the aluminum finish to the oak tone, and set the chair to park flush against the upper wall so his grandkids could still run the stairs freely. He was back in his own bedroom that night.

Wolf Road corridor split-level — curved rail through a 90° mid-landing turn

Wolf Road corridor, IL Installed February 2026

A 1979 split-level near the Wolf Road corridor with a classic Orland Park layout: a 90° turn at the mid-landing before the upper main run. Mrs. Flanagan’s daughter joined the assessment over FaceTime from Michigan. We laser-scanned both runs, fabricated the curved rail to navigate the turn at the upper landing, and installed the full system in a single day. The seat parks at the top floor where she steps off onto the hallway — no awkward dismount on the stairs.

Spring Creek colonial — swivel-exit seat in a compact traditional stairway

Spring Creek, IL Installed January 2026

A two-story Spring Creek colonial with 15 stone-tiled treads in a compact stairway next to the dining room sideboard. Mr. Novak had recovered from a hip replacement at Advocate Christ Medical Center and was cleared to return home only after we confirmed the lift would be in place. The narrow space near the wooden sideboard and potted plant left little room, so we specified the slim-profile straight rail with a swivel-exit seat at the top. Installed in a single morning, two days ahead of his discharge date.

Outdoor

Centennial Park area — outdoor porch stairlift over stone-paved entry steps

Centennial Park area, IL Installed December 2025

A Centennial Park-area colonial with a raised front porch and eight stone-paved entry steps — manageable in October, a genuine hazard by December. The Brandts’ mother had already slipped on the steps the previous February. We installed the weather-sealed cream outdoor seat on a rail anchored into the stone risers with frost-rated bolts, added a heated call station at the bottom so controls don’t freeze mid-winter, and specified the cold-weather lithium battery rated to −20°F. The system rode through the 2026 January cold snap without a service call.

Old Orland ranch bilevel — straight rail on carpeted half-flight

Old Orland, IL Installed November 2025

An original Old Orland ranch-bilevel built in 1972 with a seven-step carpeted drop from the entry landing to the lower family room. The brown carpet ran wall-to-wall over the treads and matched the earth-tone decor throughout. Mr. Reilly’s knee replacement had made the half-flight impassable. We fit the compact straight rail directly into the carpeted treads at the landing, color-matched the seat upholstery to the carpet tones, and preserved the original wall-mounted light switches on either side. He had his television room back the day of install.

Platform Lift

Orland Park Crossing — indoor wheelchair platform lift for full-time chair user

Orland Park Crossing, IL Installed October 2025

A 2005 Orland Park Crossing townhome where Mrs. Okafor’s mother, a full-time wheelchair user after a stroke, could not transfer to a standard stairlift seat. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift on the indoor stairway — a flat anti-slip platform with high-visibility yellow safety edges and a white handrail that rides the rail from the tiled lower floor to the upper hallway. The terracotta-toned walls and window light made the indoor stairway bright enough that no additional lighting was needed. She rolls on at the bottom, rides up, and rolls off independently six to eight times a day.

Common Questions

Everything Orland Park Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Orland Park right now?

Straight rails in a standard Orland Park colonial or bilevel run $2,800 to $5,500 installed — that covers the rail, seat, battery backup, installation, and the first service visit. Curved rails for split-level homes with turns, mid-landings, or the half-flight drops common in 1970s–1980s Orland Park construction run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is custom-fabricated to your exact staircase geometry. Every quote is written and held for 30 days, no expiration surprises.

Are prices higher in the southwest suburbs than in Chicago?

Equipment costs the same in Orland Park as anywhere else in Cook County — we don’t mark up for Silo Ridge addresses or premium-tier zip codes. The only line items that vary are cold-weather hardware upgrades (standard on every Illinois install north of I-80) and any unusual stair geometry. We quote every line item separately so you see exactly where the number comes from before you sign anything.

Does the cold-weather package cost extra?

No — it’s included in every Orland Park quote as standard. The cold-weather lithium battery (rated to −20°F), thread-locked rail fasteners, and the 12-month tension check are not optional upgrades here. The Illinois expansion-contraction cycle between a 95°F August and a −15°F January polar vortex loosens standard hardware over 2–3 years. We’ve seen it too many times to make it optional.

Can I finance this instead of paying all at once?

Yes — we work with three lending partners, with options from $79/month and 0% APR for qualified buyers. The application is a soft credit pull, takes about four minutes, and approval is typically instant. Many Orland Park families combine financing with the IRS medical deduction (if a physician recommends it in writing) to bring the actual out-of-pocket cost down further. We walk you through the math at the free assessment.

A word from Luis

Orland Park is one of the most senior-dense suburbs in Cook County — nearly one in four residents is over 65. That’s not a statistic, that’s the neighbor across the cul-de-sac in Silo Ridge, the couple in the Centennial Park-area colonial who raised five kids there and have no intention of leaving, the widow in Spring Creek who owns her home outright and just needs her stairs back.

My job is to get there fast and get it right: I’ll be at your Orland Park address within 24 hours, measure every tread, and hand you a written quote that’s honored for 30 days. Cold-weather batteries are standard on every install — because a battery that fails at −15°F isn’t a battery, it’s a problem waiting to happen.

— Luis Ramírez, Orland Park
