Spencer’s Crossing two-story — straight rail on hardwood-over-oak treads

Spencer’s Crossing, CA Installed March 2026

A 2009 two-story in Spencer’s Crossing with engineered hardwood over oak stair treads and a single straight 14-foot run from the foyer to the upper hallway. Mrs. Nguyen had a total knee replacement in January and her orthopedic surgeon cleared her for weight-bearing but not for repeated stair climbing for another eight weeks. The rail was bolted through the hardwood into the oak substrate beneath — no wall contact, no banister contact. The seat folds flat against the wall so Mr. Nguyen still carries laundry up and down without squeezing past.

Bear Creek golf community — curved rail past the upper landing turn

Bear Creek, CA Installed February 2026

A luxury home inside the gated Bear Creek community with a curved staircase and an L-shaped upper landing that made a straight rail impossible. We laser-scanned the staircase on the first visit, fabricated a curved rail that threads the 90° upper turn and parks flush against the landing wall, and installed it in a single day. The seat swivels at the top floor so Mr. Paterson steps off onto the hallway carpet, not onto the top step. The HOA board required a reasonable-accommodation letter under FEHA — we had the packet submitted and approved before the rail shipped.

1993 Cal Oaks cottage — slim-profile rail in a narrow stairwell

Cal Oaks, CA Installed January 2026

A 1993 Cal Oaks home from the first construction phase with the narrower stairwell typical of early-1990s Inland Empire building. The stone-look tile at the base of the stairs required masonry-rated anchors on the bottom two mounts. We specified the slim-profile model that sits 11 inches from the wall when folded — enough room for her son to walk past comfortably. The seat is parked next to a wooden sideboard near the base of the stairs in a compact, traditional setting.

Jefferson Avenue ranch — outdoor lift on stone-paved front entry

Jefferson Avenue, CA Installed December 2025

A pre-master-plan ranch off Jefferson Avenue with a raised front entry, five exterior stone-paved steps, and full southern sun exposure. Mr. Reyes uses a walker after a stroke and the front steps had become the single barrier between him and the outside world. We sealed the motor housing to IP55, UV-coated the rail for Inland Empire sun exposure, and anchored through the stone pavers into the concrete substrate. The cream-colored weather-resistant seat sits at the stone-paved porch entry, ready for daily use.

North Star Ranch two-story — standard carpeted run, same-week install

North Star Ranch, CA Installed November 2025

A 2004 two-story in North Star Ranch with builder-grade carpet on the stairs and a textbook straight 13-foot run. Mr. Brennan had a hip replacement scheduled and wanted the lift operational before he came home from surgery. The mounting bolts go through the carpet into the tread below — invisible and removable if the family ever sells. The brown upholstery on the seat blends with the carpet tones on the landing where the chair parks between rides.

Platform Lift

Four Seasons 55+ home — indoor wheelchair platform lift at the sunken living room

Four Seasons, CA Installed October 2025

A single-story home in the Four Seasons 55+ community with a sunken living room — three steps down from the kitchen and hallway level. Mrs. Tanaka uses a powered wheelchair and the sunken step had effectively cut the house in half. We installed an indoor inclined wheelchair platform lift with a flat black anti-slip deck and high-visibility yellow safety edges around the perimeter. The platform raises and lowers in under 10 seconds along the indoor stairway. No ramp construction, no floor demolition, no HOA exterior modification.

Common Questions

Everything Murrieta Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Murrieta right now?

Straight rails in the standard two-story Murrieta floorplans — the Spencer’s Crossing and North Star Ranch models with a single 13-14 foot run — cost $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for Bear Creek homes with L-shaped landings or older Cal Oaks phases with mid-stair turns run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor models for raised entries and porch steps run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are prices higher in Murrieta than other Inland Empire cities?

Equipment prices are the same across Riverside County — we don’t inflate quotes for Bear Creek or Four Seasons addresses. What can vary slightly is install labor for unusual conditions: the narrow 1990s stairwells in early Cal Oaks phases that need a slim-profile rail, or homes where the HOA requires a specific finish or mounting approach. We list every line item upfront. No surprise premiums.

Do Four Seasons 55+ homes even need stairlifts?

More often than you’d think. Four Seasons homes are single-story, but many have sunken living rooms with two or three steps, raised garage entries, or front porches with exterior steps that become a fall risk after a hip replacement or balance issue. We install short-run straight rails and platform lifts in 55+ communities regularly — the install is usually faster and less expensive than a full-flight rail.

Is a used or refurbished stairlift worth considering in Murrieta?

For straight indoor staircases — the standard 13-14 foot runs in Spencer’s Crossing, North Star Ranch, and Central Park — a certified refurbished unit can save 30-40% off a new install. Factory-reconditioned with new upholstery, new battery, and a 2-year warranty. Curved rails for Bear Creek or Cal Oaks split-levels are almost never available refurbished because every curved rail is custom-manufactured. Ask during the assessment and we’ll check current inventory.

A word from Luis

Most Murrieta families call me after a parent has stopped using the upstairs bedrooms entirely — sleeping on the living room couch in a Cal Oaks ranch, skipping the master bath in a Spencer’s Crossing two-story, avoiding the grandchildren’s rooms upstairs in a Four Seasons home they bought to be close to family.

I’ve measured staircases in every master-planned community in this city — the 14-foot straight runs in North Star Ranch, the L-shaped upper landings in Bear Creek, the narrow 1990s stairwells in early Cal Oaks. I know which builders used oak substrate under engineered hardwood, which ones poured concrete front entries with stone pavers, and which HOA boards need the FEHA accommodation letter before the rail ships from fabrication.

My job is simple: drive to your house within 24 hours, measure once, and give you a price that’s honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. En español si lo prefiere.
