Stairlift Service Across Morris County

Morris County, NJ

The Morristown Historic District — roughly bounded by South Street, Macculloch Avenue, and the Green — holds the town's oldest housing stock, with Victorian mansions and Italianate townhouses from the 1860s-1890s whose original staircases often measure under 36 inches wide. On the quieter residential streets of Burnham Park and Franklin Corners, post-war split-levels and townhomes put the bedroom half a flight up from the living room — a hard daily climb for an arthritic knee. Washington Valley, with its larger lots and ranch-style homes, sees fewer stairs but longer distances between rooms. And in the Normandy Park area just outside town, century-old colonials on large lots have grand curved staircases that look beautiful but become unusable after a stroke or fall.

Straight

Victorian Straight Rail on Macculloch Avenue

Morristown Historic District, NJ Installed March 2026

The Bartons live in an 1887 Victorian on Macculloch Avenue — dark oak treads, original banister, 34-inch-wide staircase. After Mr. Barton's knee replacement, the upstairs became a twice-daily struggle. Luis mounted the straight rail directly to the treads: three hours, no wall damage. The beige seat sits at the bottom landing against the warm wood. Mrs. Barton told us she cried the first time her husband rode up to their bedroom alone.

Curved Rail in Normandy Park Colonial

Normandy Park, NJ Installed February 2026

The Shapiros own a 1910 Colonial in Normandy Park — curved staircase with a half-wall at the upper landing, chandelier overhead. A stroke in November left Mrs. Shapiro unable to climb. Luis spent an hour laser-measuring the 90-degree turn; the custom rail arrived three weeks later. The brown seat parks at the top, out of sight behind the half-wall. Mr.

Cape Cod Straight Install in Burnham Park

Burnham Park, NJ Installed April 2026

The Kims' 1950s Cape Cod in Burnham Park has stone-tile treads and a tight foyer near a wooden sideboard. Mr. Kim has Parkinson's, and the stairs had become a full-stop barrier. Luis installed the straight rail in under four hours — the brown seat tucks neatly at the base beside the sideboard, leaving the walkway open. The rail bolts into the stone with a masonry bit; no floor damage. Mrs.

Outdoor

Outdoor Porch Lift in Washington Valley

Washington Valley, NJ Installed January 2026

The Garcias' ranch home in Washington Valley has a stone-paved porch entry — four steps up, exposed to full New Jersey weather. Mr. Garcia, a Vietnam veteran, had stopped using the front door entirely after a fall on ice last winter. Luis installed the weather-sealed outdoor lift in January: IP55-rated, marine-grade rail, cream seat with waterproof cover. The rail survived a February freeze-thaw cycle without a hiccup. Mr.

Carpeted Townhome Straight Lift in Franklin Corners

Franklin Corners, NJ Installed March 2026

The O'Briens' townhome in Franklin Corners has carpeted stairs — beige pile that matches the lift upholstery almost perfectly. Mrs. O'Brien, 78, had been sleeping in the living room for four months after a hip fracture. Luis installed the straight rail in three hours. The brown seat parks at the landing, and the carpet absorbed the bolt mounts so neatly you can barely see the hardware. Mrs.

Platform Lift

Wheelchair Platform Lift near Washington's Headquarters

Washington's Headquarters, NJ Installed February 2026

The Martins' pre-war colonial on Washington Place — just blocks from the Ford Mansion — needed a platform lift, not a seat. Their son uses a wheelchair and had been carried up the stairs by his father for eight years. Luis installed the indoor inclined platform: flat black deck, yellow safety edges, white handrail. 600-pound capacity. The platform folds up when not in use, leaving the staircase open. Mr.

Common Questions

Everything Morristown Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Morristown?

Straight stairlifts start at $2,800, curved at $9,000 (custom-bent to your exact staircase after a laser measurement), outdoor at $4,000 (IP55 weather-sealed), and heavy-duty at $5,050 (600 lb capacity). These prices include the rail, seat, installation, and a 5-year warranty with lifetime rail coverage. Morristown pricing is consistent with the rest of Morris County — we don't charge extra for distance or parking in town.

Do older Morristown homes cost more for stairlift installation?

Not in our base pricing. Victorian and Colonial Revival homes in the Historic District do present challenges — staircases as narrow as 32 inches, plaster walls that require tread-mounted rails, and irregular rise on pre-1920 stairs — but Luis has installed in enough Morristown period homes that these are routine. We never charge surprise fees. The price you're quoted is the price you pay.

How does Morristown compare to Madison or Parsippany for stairlift pricing?

Same pricing across Morris County. Whether we're installing in a Morristown Victorian, a Madison Colonial, or a Parsippany ranch, the equipment cost is identical. The only variable is whether you need a straight or curved rail — and that depends on your staircase geometry, not your ZIP code. We serve all of Morris County from our local team.

Does Morristown's winter weather affect outdoor stairlift pricing or durability?

No — our outdoor lifts are IP55-rated with marine-grade rail coatings and come in at $4,000. Morristown averages 26 inches of snow per year with regular freeze-thaw cycles from December through March. The outdoor unit is built for this climate. We install them year-round, and the waterproof seat cover is included.

A word from Luis

Morristown is probably my favorite town in Morris County to work in — every install is different. You go from a grand Victorian on Macculloch Avenue with a curved mahogany banister to a split-level over in Burnham Park where the stairs make four tight turns. The pre-1900 homes are the real challenge. Some of those staircases are 32 inches wide and the plaster walls don't forgive a mistake. But we've done enough of them now that I know exactly what rail configuration fits before I even walk in the door.

The one thing I tell every family here: don't wait until after a fall. I've installed lifts in Morristown homes where the husband had been carrying his wife up the stairs for six months. The look on her face the first time she rode up by herself — that's why I do this. Morristown families tend to stay in these homes for 30, 40 years. A stairlift keeps that going.

— Luis Ramírez, Morristown
Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

Morristown has more stairlift installations per square mile than most towns its size, and the reason comes down to housing stock. When a large share of your homes were built before 1920, you have a lot of steep, narrow staircases that were built for 25-year-old legs, not 75-year-old ones. Combine that with winters that drop below freezing 90 nights a year — when even a minor slip on icy front steps can mean a broken hip — and a stairlift stops being a luxury. It becomes the difference between living on one floor and living in the whole house.

From the historic district around the Green to the split-levels in Burnham Park and the colonials out toward Washington Valley, Luis has installed in every corner of Morristown. The process starts with a 15-minute phone call. He comes out, measures, and gives you a firm price — no surprise fees, no sales pitch. Fill out the form above and we'll get you scheduled for a consultation this week.
