Stairlift Service Across Midland County

Midland County, TX

The 1960s brick ranches of Ranchland Hills are where the conversation is almost always about narrow stairwells, worn carpet treads, and split-level landings that make a straight rail impossible. Saddle Club and Grassland Estates homes have wider modern staircases that install in three hours flat. Northgate two-stories often have low-ceiling stairwells requiring a slim-profile rail. Cuthbert homes have exterior carport-to-entry steps that need the UV-rated outdoor model. Briarwood properties sit in newer subdivision plats with standard construction that installs quickly. We also cover the full Midland-Odessa-Andrews corridor — Odessa, Stanton, Gardendale, West Odessa — so families across the Permian Basin get the same 24-hour assessment window without a tech driving in from Lubbock or San Angelo.

1965 Ranchland Hills ranch — straight rail on original oak hardwood treads

Ranchland Hills, TX Installed March 2026

A 1965 brick ranch in Ranchland Hills with original red-oak stair treads running from the lower den to the main bedroom level. Mr. Strickland spent 38 years in the Permian Basin oilfields and both knees were shot by retirement. His wife found us after their orthopedic surgeon at Midland Memorial said the stairs had to stop. We measured Monday, installed Thursday. The rail bolts directly into the oak treads without touching the brick wainscoting or the original iron handrail. The chair folds flat against the wall at the lower landing so the hallway to the den stays clear.

Northgate two-story — curved rail wrapping the upper landing turn

Northgate, TX Installed February 2026

A 1971 two-story on the west side of Northgate with a 90-degree turn at the upper landing between the living area and the upstairs bedrooms. Mrs. Garza had a stroke in October and spent three weeks at Midland Memorial before coming home. We laser-scanned the entire staircase, fabricated a single curved rail that bends around the half-wall at the top, and installed a swivel-exit seat so she steps off facing the hallway. The Permian caliche under the foundation had settled the treads a quarter-inch over 55 years — we shimmed the rail brackets to level. Framed family photos on the stairwell wall stayed untouched.

Briarwood home — straight rail in a compact stairwell next to the sideboard

Briarwood, TX Installed January 2026

A 1992 home in Briarwood with decorative tile risers and a wrought-iron railing the homeowner refused to let anyone remove. Mrs. Whitfield's husband passed in 2024 and her children in Dallas wanted her to move closer, but she had lived in this house for 34 years. The stairs between the entry level and the main living area were the only barrier. We mounted the rail into the concrete stair treads using masonry anchors, threaded the track past the wrought-iron without removing a single bracket, and tucked the seat next to the wooden sideboard at the bottom. A compact traditional home that didn't need to change to become accessible.

Cuthbert entry — weather-sealed outdoor lift on stone paving steps to the porch

Cuthbert, TX Installed December 2025

A 1970s ranch in the Cuthbert area with a raised front porch — six exterior stone paving steps from the driveway up to the front door, south-facing and fully exposed to the West Texas sun. Mr. Bernal is a retired Permian Basin pipeline welder who qualified for a STAR+PLUS waiver through Amerigroup. We anchored a UV-rated outdoor rail into the stone pavers, installed a cream-colored weather-sealed seat with high-heat lubricant rated to 140 degrees, and added UV-stabilized upholstery rated for 2,000+ hours of direct Permian Basin sun. The MCO paid directly; the family never wrote a check.

Saddle Club two-story — straight rail on carpeted stairs

Saddle Club, TX Installed November 2025

A 2002 two-story in Saddle Club South with standard carpeted stairs. Mrs. Patterson had both hips replaced within 18 months at Midland Memorial and her surgeon said no unsupervised stairs for six months. The rail bolts through the carpet into the stair treads beneath — no carpet removal, no repadding. The brown upholstery on the seat matches the carpet tones so the chair blends into the stairwell. The seat folds flat against the wall so the wide stairwell stays fully passable. Her husband stopped sleeping on the couch downstairs the week it was installed.

Platform Lift

Ranchland Hills accessible retrofit — indoor wheelchair platform lift with safety edges

Ranchland Hills, TX Installed October 2025

Mr. Dominguez is a Gulf War veteran enrolled at the West Texas VA Health Care System in Big Spring whose spinal cord injury means he uses a power wheelchair full-time. His 1968 Ranchland Hills ranch has an indoor split-level with five steps between the garage entry and the main living floor. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift with a flat anti-slip surface, yellow high-visibility safety edges around the platform perimeter, and interlocked gates at both levels. The terracotta-toned walls of the stairwell frame the white handrail. The VA HISA grant covered $6,800 — we prefilled VA Form 10-0103 and coordinated directly with the Big Spring HISA office. The platform fits his power chair with room to spare.

Common Questions

Everything Midland Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Midland right now?

Straight rails in standard Midland homes — the Ranchland Hills brick ranches, the Saddle Club two-stories, the Northgate homes — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for landing turns and 1970s split-level geometry run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase. Outdoor models with the UV-rated upholstery and high-heat lubricant run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, UV-stabilized upholstery, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Does the UV-rated seat and high-heat lubricant cost extra in Texas?

No. The UV-stabilized seat upholstery rated for 2,000+ hours of direct sun and the high-heat lubricant rated to 140 degrees are standard on every Texas install — indoor and outdoor. National chains price these as add-ons. We include them at baseline because the West Texas climate destroys factory-default materials in one to two seasons. It's in the written quote. No line-item surprise.

Are prices different in Midland than the rest of Texas?

Equipment prices are the same statewide. What varies slightly is travel time for unusual rural locations outside the Midland-Odessa corridor and install labor for conditions like masonry-anchored stone treads in older Briarwood homes or foundation-settled treads in 1960s Ranchland Hills ranches that need bracket shimming. We tell you every line item upfront. No 'Permian Basin premium.'

I'm on a fixed income in Midland. Is a stairlift realistic?

For many Midland residents, yes. Texas STAR+PLUS Medicaid waiver covers stairlifts as minor home modifications through your MCO — Amerigroup, Molina, Superior, UnitedHealthcare, or Cigna-HealthSpring. The VA HISA grant covers up to $6,800 for service-connected disabilities. For households that don't qualify for either, our financing starts at $79/month with no impact to your credit score during application. We walk through all available options at the free assessment before discussing equipment.

A word from Luis

Most Midland families call me after a reality check — a retired oilfield engineer whose knees gave out after 35 years of climbing rig stairs, a widow in Ranchland Hills whose children in Dallas and Houston keep asking her to move closer, a Vietnam vet at the Big Spring VA whose provider said 'you qualify for HISA — here's the number.'

The Permian Basin built these homes for young families in the 1960s and 1970s. Those families stayed. The stairs didn't get easier. My job is simple: drive to your house within 24 hours, measure once, and give you a price that's honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. En español si lo prefiere.
