Stairlift Service Across Henry County

Henry County, GA

Lake Dow North — lakefront properties with curved staircases and upper landings; curved-rail installs common here. Brush Arbor — newer construction off Highway 155, straight flights good for pre-planned aging-in-place. Autumn Lakes — large homes on generous lots, many with carpeted stairs. McDonough Historic District — 1820s-1920s Victorians and Craftsmans centered on Griffin Street; steep, narrow treads almost always need a custom curved rail. Straight

Oak Staircase in Eagle's Landing

Eagle's Landing, GA Installed March 2026

The Bennetts' 1998 traditional two-story in Eagle's Landing had wide oak treads and a straight flight. Mrs. Bennett, 78, had stopped using the upstairs guest bath after a hip replacement. Luis bolted a cream straight rail to the treads in just under 3 hours. The seat parks at the bottom near the foyer, leaving the walkway clear — 22 seconds bottom to top, smooth the whole way.

Curved

Curved Rail at Upper Landing in Lake Dow North

Lake Dow North, GA Installed February 2026

The Crawfords' lakefront home in Lake Dow North had a staircase with a 90-degree turn at the upper landing. Luis spent an hour laser-measuring the path — 16 treads, one landing turn, variable rise on the top three steps. The custom rail was fabricated in a week and installed in one morning. The brown seat parks at the top floor, tucked against the half-wall, invisible from the entryway.

Compact Straight Rail in Brush Arbor

Brush Arbor, GA Installed April 2026

The Watsons' 2020 build in Brush Arbor had stone-look tile treads and a straight staircase alongside the kitchen wall — a compact home with a wooden sideboard at the base. Luis mounted the rail tight to the wall with minimal clearance loss, and the brown seat matched the dark-stained sideboard. Mrs. Watson, recovering from a stroke, can now reach the upstairs bedroom on her own for the first time in months.

Outdoor

Outdoor Porch Lift in Oakhurst Manor

Oakhurst Manor, GA Installed January 2026

The Dixons' new Oakhurst Manor home has a raised front porch — five stone-paved steps up from the driveway. Mr. Dixon, a Vietnam veteran, had stopped leaving except for VA appointments at the Stockbridge Clinic. Luis installed a weather-sealed outdoor unit with an IP55-rated cover and powder-coated rail. The cream seat sits at the bottom of the porch steps. Three months in, through a February cold snap, it runs like day one.

Carpeted Stair Run in Autumn Lakes

Autumn Lakes, GA Installed May 2026

The Reeves' Autumn Lakes home had wall-to-wall beige carpet on a straight staircase down to a tiled foyer. The carpet color and the lift's brown upholstery blended so well that Mrs. Reeves, 76, said it looked like it came with the house. Luis bolted through the carpet into the treads — the brackets compress the fibers cleanly without tearing them.

Platform Lift

Indoor Wheelchair Platform near McDonough Square

McDonough Historic District, GA Installed March 2026

The Hollises own a 1910 Craftsman on Griffin Street, three blocks from the Square. Mr. Hollis uses a wheelchair after a spinal injury and needs to stay in the chair, so a seat lift wouldn't work. Luis installed an inclined platform lift — flat black deck, yellow safety edges, white handrail — running the full 17-foot stair path, rated to 600 lb.

Common Questions

Everything McDonough Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in McDonough?

Straight stairlifts start at $2,800 installed. Curved lifts — custom-built to your stair shape — start at $9,000. Outdoor units begin at $4,000 with weatherproofing included. Heavy-duty models rated to 600 lb start at $5,050. Every quote covers the rail, seat, installation labor, and a walkthrough demo. No hidden fees.

Are stairlift prices higher in McDonough than in Atlanta?

No — the price is the same whether you're off I-75 Exit 218 in McDonough or inside the Perimeter. We don't add a travel surcharge. The only variable is whether your stairs need a straight rail or a custom curved rail, and that comes down to your floor plan, not your ZIP code.

Does insurance cover a stairlift in Henry County?

Most private insurers don't — but Georgia Medicaid's Elderly and Disabled Waiver Program (EDWP) covers home modifications, including stairlifts, with a $10,000 lifetime cap. The Georgia Department of Community Affairs Home Access Program also funds accessibility modifications for qualifying disabled residents. We'll help you check eligibility at the assessment.

Can I finance a stairlift in McDonough?

Yes. Financing starts at $79/month with approved credit. No prepayment penalty. We can run the application during the in-home assessment and you'll know within minutes whether you're approved.

A word from Luis

I've put stairlifts into just about every kind of home McDonough has — 1990s two-story builds in Eagle's Landing where the master is upstairs, 1970s split-levels off Jonesboro Road, and new construction in Oakhurst Manor where folks are planning ahead. The historic homes around the Square are the ones that keep me on my toes. A Victorian on Griffin Street from 1890 — those stairs are steep and the treads are narrow. Curved rail, laser-measured on site. About a week to fabricate, 4 hours to install. The homeowner's daughter drove down from Decatur to see it work, and her first words were "I didn't think this house could take one."

What I tell every McDonough family is the same thing — come to Heritage Park on a Saturday and walk through the historic village. Look at the 1827 log cabin. Then drive 10 minutes to Brush Arbor or Autumn Lakes and see what 2020s construction looks like. That's McDonough — old and new together, and both kinds of stairs need different solutions. The funding side matters too. I've walked six Henry County veterans through the HISA grant at the Stockbridge VA Clinic on Medical Boulevard. That $6,800 covers most straight rails outright.

Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

McDonough keeps growing — one of the fastest in Georgia — and every new subdivision from Clearwater Pointe to Anderson Point Estates adds more two-story homes that will need a stairlift sooner or later. The older stock around the Square isn't going anywhere either. The 187 contributing buildings in the McDonough Historic District have been standing since before the Civil War, and their owners want to stay in them.

Luis covers all of Henry County — Stockbridge, Locust Grove, Hampton, and every neighborhood in between. Same-day assessment, no sales pitch. Call or fill out the form and he'll come measure your stairs.
