Stairlift Service Across Suffolk County

Suffolk County, NY

Mastic Beach stretches across a narrow peninsula reaching into Moriches Bay, which shapes the housing stock in specific ways. Old Mastic — the Dana Estates section south of the Poospatuck Reservation, a Brookhaven-designated historic district — holds some of the area's oldest homes, with original winding staircases that predate modern building codes. The waterfront peninsula has homes on stilts with full exterior staircases, many raised after Hurricane Sandy. Inland, the Neighborhood Road corridor and the streets around Robinwood Drive are dense with expanded mid-century bungalows — tight stairs, no landings. Off William Floyd Parkway, you find 1970s and '80s raised ranches and split-levels. Near Osprey Park and Bayview Park, water-adjacent homes face the salt air head-on. Every layout has a staircase that eventually stands between someone and their bedroom.

Straight

Straight rail on original hardwood treads in an Old Mastic historic home

Old Mastic, NY Installed January 2026

The Kowalskis live in the Dana Estates section of Old Mastic, in a pre-WWII home. The staircase is dark oak, narrow by modern standards, straight with no landing. Luis installed a beige straight rail bolted directly to the hardwood — no wall mounting, no drywall repair. The seat parks at the bottom landing and folds up to clear the walkway. Mrs. Kowalski, 78, was back in her upstairs bedroom that same afternoon.

Curved

Curved rail wrapping a 90° turn at the upper landing near Edgewater Drive

Edgewater Drive area, NY Installed February 2026

The Fitzpatricks' waterfront home has a modern staircase that turns 90 degrees at the upper landing, with a half-wall and chandelier above. The curved rail was laser-measured on site, then fabricated to match the exact radius of the turn. The brown seat parks at the top floor, blending with the neutral interior. The rail bends cleanly around the half-wall — every bracket anchors to the treads.

Straight

Compact straight rail on stone-tread stairs near a wooden sideboard off Robinwood

Robinwood Drive area, NY Installed March 2026

This expanded 1950s bungalow off Robinwood Drive has stone tile treads and a tight staircase alongside the living room. A wooden sideboard sits at the base, so the rail had to terminate cleanly without crowding the furniture. Luis installed a brown straight rail that bolts into the stone treads — no wall brackets needed. The seat parks at the bottom, beside but not blocking the sideboard, and the folded profile leaves the hallway walkable.

Outdoor

Outdoor stairlift on a stone-paved porch entry facing Moriches Bay

The Peninsula waterfront, NY Installed April 2026

The Morrisons' peninsula home has a stone-paved exterior stairway from the driveway to the entry porch — 11 rough stone steps, no cover from the elements. Luis installed a cream outdoor stairlift with a marine-grade aluminum rail and IP55 weather-sealed motor. The rail is powder-coated to resist salt air off Moriches Bay, and a waterproof seat cover keeps the upholstery dry through nor'easters.

Straight

Standard straight rail on carpeted stairs in a Neighborhood Road raised ranch

Neighborhood Road area, NY Installed May 2026

The Carters' raised ranch off Neighborhood Road has wall-to-wall carpet on the stairs — tan pile that closely matches the brown seat upholstery. The straight rail mounts through the carpet into the wood treads beneath; the bolts hide under the rail track. A tiled floor at the base gives a solid landing point. The owner, a grandfather of four whose balance was slipping, had the lift in by lunch the same morning.

Platform Lift

Indoor inclined wheelchair platform near the Shirley border

Shirley border area, NY Installed June 2026

The Hendersons' home near the Mastic-Shirley line needed a solution for a family member who uses a wheelchair full-time. Luis installed an indoor inclined platform lift that rides the existing stair rail — a flat black deck with yellow safety edges and a white handrail. The platform folds up when not in use so others can use the stairs. Rated to 600 lb, it carries the wheelchair and rider to the upper hallway.

Common Questions

Everything Mastic Beach Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Mastic Beach?

A straight stairlift starts at $2,800 installed, which covers the rail, seat, battery backup, and labor. Curved lifts start at $9,000 because each rail is custom-bent to your staircase after a laser measurement. Outdoor lifts for Mastic Beach's stilt-house entries and waterfront stairs start at $4,000. Heavy-duty models rated to 600 lb start at $5,050. All prices include installation by a factory-trained crew — no subcontractors. We give you a firm quote at the free in-home assessment, no hidden fees.

Do stairlift prices in Suffolk County include installation?

Yes. Every price we quote — $2,800 for straight, $9,000 for curved, $4,000 for outdoor, $5,050 for heavy-duty — includes the full installation. That means the rail, the seat, the battery backup, all mounting hardware, labor, and the post-install walkthrough. We don't tack on travel charges for Mastic Beach or anywhere else on the South Shore. The only thing that might shift the price is if your staircase has unusual turn geometry or needs extra rail length — and we measure all of that at the free assessment before you commit.

Is there financing available for a stairlift in Mastic Beach?

Yes. Financing starts at $79 a month. It's a simple installment plan — no prepayment penalty, no balloon payment, clear terms from the start. We run the application during the in-home assessment and you'll know within minutes whether you're approved. A lot of families in Suffolk County use financing even while pursuing a HISA grant or NHTD waiver, since the grant can take a few months to process and the stairlift can go in right away.

How does the cost of a stairlift in Mastic Beach compare to moving?

Even a curved stairlift at $9,000 is a fraction of what it costs to sell a Mastic Beach home and buy a single-level place elsewhere on Long Island. Median home prices in this hamlet run around $425,000, and a one-floor condo or ranch in a nearby town runs comparable or higher — plus closing costs, moving expenses, and the disruption. A stairlift installs in an afternoon and you stay in the house you know, near Smith Point, near your neighbors. That math is pretty hard to beat.

A word from Luis

I've put stairlifts into just about every kind of home you find on this peninsula. The waterfront stilt houses on Edgewater Drive — those are a whole thing. The stairs go up a full story, sometimes steep and narrow because the house was built up to stay above the flood line. We bolt the rail to the treads, not the wall, so the drywall stays intact and the install is clean. Over in Old Mastic, the historic homes in the Dana Estates section have winding staircases that need a custom curved rail — laser-measured on site, bent to match every turn. A lot of the expanded bungalows off Robinwood and Neighborhood Road were built as summer cottages in the '50s and '60s, then added onto over the years. The staircase is often the original — tight, steep, no landing halfway up. A straight rail in there takes about three hours and doesn't touch the walls.

What I tell families here is simple: if your mom or dad can't do the stairs anymore but they aren't ready to leave this community, a stairlift keeps them in the house. Between Smith Point Beach a couple miles down the road, the Conservancy waterfront, and neighbors they've known for forty years, there's a lot keeping people here. We make it work with the house they've got.

— Luis Ramírez, Mastic Beach
Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

Mastic Beach is a South Shore hamlet where people tend to stay. The waterfront, Smith Point Beach two miles away, the William Floyd Estate, and the Mastic Beach Conservancy's six-plus miles of public shoreline mean there's always a reason to be outside. When the stairs inside start cutting someone off from all of that, a stairlift is the fix that costs far less than moving.

We handle everything from the first phone call to the final bolt — measurement, paperwork for the HISA grant or NHTD waiver if you qualify, the install itself, and service for the life of the lift. If you're on the peninsula, call Luis at the number above or fill out the form. Same-day callbacks, free in-home assessment within 48 hours.
