Stairlift Service Across Wood County

Wood County, WI

Marshfield's housing stock spans from 1880s Queen Anne homes in the West Park Street Historic District to brand-new builds in the Green Acres subdivision off East 23rd. The Pleasant Hill Residential Historic District east of downtown has compact pre-war homes where staircases often turn at a 90° landing—curved-rail territory. Over in Marshfield West, you find mid-century ranches and split-levels from the 1950s-70s, many with straight flights and carpeted treads. The Central Avenue Historic District has some upper-floor residential conversions with very narrow staircases. Further out, Bakerville and Hewitt cover rural properties where outdoor stairlifts on porch entries are common. Each area has its own stair geometry and tread material, and we've worked in all of them.

Straight

Straight Rail on Original Oak Treads in a West Park Queen Anne

West Park Street Historic District, WI Installed March 2026

The Andersons' 1890s Queen Anne on West Park Street has original oak treads—darkened with 130 years of finish. The staircase is straight but steep, with a 14-foot rise. We bolted a cream-colored straight rail directly into the treads. No wall work, no drywall repair. The seat parks at the bottom landing, just past the original newel post. Three hours from van to handshake.

90° Curve Around a Half-Wall Landing in Pleasant Hill

Pleasant Hill Residential Historic District, WI Installed April 2026

This Pleasant Hill two-story had a staircase that rose to a half-wall landing, turned 90°, then continued to the second floor. A chandelier hangs above the upper landing. Our laser measurement took about an hour. The curved rail was fabricated off-site and installed two weeks later—the brown seat parks discreetly at the upper floor, out of the hallway. The rail hugs the turn exactly, following the contour of the half-wall.

Straight

Straight Rail Past a Sideboard in a Marshfield Northwest Ranch

Marshfield Northwest, WI Installed February 2026

The Schmidts' 1960s ranch in Marshfield Northwest has a tiled stairway with a wooden sideboard cabinet at the base. Tight clearance—about 34 inches between the cabinet and the stair rail. Our straight rail fit with room to spare. The brown upholstery happened to match the cabinet stain almost exactly. Took under 3 hours, and the seat folds up against the rail when not in use so the hallway stays clear.

Outdoor Lift on a Stone-Paved Porch in Rural Hewitt

Hewitt, WI Installed May 2026

The Wagners live on a rural property in Hewitt, with a stone-paved front porch that ices over every winter. Six stone steps lead up to the front door. We installed an outdoor-rated stairlift with IP55 weather sealing and powder-coated steel built for freeze-thaw cycling. The cream-colored seat sits at the base of the porch stairs.

Carpeted Straight Run in a Green Acres New Build

Green Acres, WI Installed January 2026

The Petersons bought a Denyon Home in Green Acres—brand new construction, wall-to-wall carpet on the stairs, beige tones throughout. Straight flight, 12 feet. The brown-upholstered stairlift seat blends into the carpet color. A tiled foyer at the base made for a clean install. This was a preventive installation—Mrs. Peterson's mother was moving in, and they wanted the lift in place before she arrived.

Wheelchair Platform Lift in a Marshfield South Split-Level

Marshfield South, WI Installed June 2026

The Hansons' split-level in Marshfield South had seven steps between the garage entrance and the main living floor—just enough to make a wheelchair transfer risky. We installed an inclined platform lift with a flat black deck and yellow safety-edge bumpers. Rated for 600 lb, the platform folds up against the wall when not in use. Indoor use only; works with any standard manual or power chair.

Common Questions

Everything Marshfield Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Marshfield?

A straight stairlift starts at $2,800 installed. Curved lifts—which need custom fabrication after a laser measurement—start at $9,000. Outdoor lifts for porch entries start at $4,000, and heavy-duty models rated to 600 lb start at $5,050. These prices include the assessment, rail fabrication, installation, and a 5-year warranty on the motor with lifetime coverage on the rail. Financing starts at $79/month. Every quote is fixed-price—no surprises after the assessment.

Are stairlifts in Marshfield more expensive because of winter weather?

No, indoor stairlift pricing is the same as anywhere else in Wisconsin. The standard straight lift works fine indoors regardless of outside temperatures. If you need an outdoor lift for a porch or exterior staircase, the starting price is $4,000—that gets you an IP55-rated, weather-sealed unit built to handle Marshfield's 47+ inches of annual snowfall and sub-zero winter temperatures. The weather sealing is part of the outdoor model spec, not an add-on.

Does insurance cover stairlift installation in Wood County?

Medicare typically does not cover stairlifts. Wisconsin Medicaid can—through the IRIS (Include, Respect, I Self-Direct) program and Family Care managed long-term care, both of which allow home modifications that improve safety and accessibility. For veterans, the HISA grant covers up to $6,800 for service-connected conditions or $2,000 for non-service-connected. We also work with WisLoan, Wisconsin's low-interest assistive technology loan program, which offers financing from $250 to $50,000 for home modifications like stairlifts.

What financing options are available for a stairlift in Marshfield?

We offer financing from $79/month. For Wisconsin residents with disabilities, the WisLoan program through the state DHS provides low-interest loans—typically around 4% APR—from $250 up to $50,000 for home modifications, including stairlifts. There is also a down payment assistance option that can cover 10-60% of the loan amount. We walk you through the application during the assessment—approvals usually come through in a few weeks.

A word from Luis

I've been putting stairlifts into Marshfield homes for over 15 years, and the biggest concern here isn't the install itself—it's whether the lift will hold up through a Wisconsin winter. The answer is yes, if you spec it right. Our battery backups run about 6 hours after a power cut. During that February ice storm in 2024, we had customers on the west side of town running their lifts off battery for a full afternoon with no interruption.

The other thing I see a lot: older homes around Pleasant Hill and West Park Street with narrow staircases. People think a stairlift won't fit. Nearly always, it does. The rail sits on the treads, not the wall, so even a 30-inch-wide staircase works. I've done installs in 1880s Queen Annes where the staircase felt like a hallway—and the lift fit fine.

— Luis Ramírez, Marshfield
Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

Marshfield's mix of historic homes and new construction means no two staircases are alike—but the fundamentals of a stairlift install are the same regardless. The rail bolts to the treads, the motor plugs into a standard outlet, and the battery backup keeps things running through winter storms. Whether you're in a 1920s Colonial Revival on West Fifth Street, a ranch in Marshfield West, or a new build in Green Acres, we can measure and quote within a day of your call.

If your parent or spouse is struggling with the stairs—especially in winter when ice and snow make every trip outside a hazard—call us at the number on this page. Luis does every assessment personally, and he'll give you a straight answer about what fits, what it costs, and what funding programs apply. No pressure, no sales pitch. Just a real measurement and a fixed price.
