Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across Langlade County

Langlade County, WI

We cover all of Antigo and the surrounding Langlade County towns. The Historic Fifth Avenue District and the homes along Deleglise Street and Clermont Street are mostly 1880s-to-1920s two-stories with 34-to-38-inch hardwood staircases — tight by modern standards, and the ones that turn at a landing usually need a curved rail. On Hudson Street the cottages run narrow and compact. The post-war ranches on Mendlik Avenue and Edison Street have wider straight runs that we fit in about three hours. Porch homes near Spring Brook and Antigo Lake often want an outdoor lift sealed against snow and road salt. We also serve Bryant, Elcho, White Lake, and the wider Northwoods.

Straight

Fifth Avenue — straight rail on 1920s oak treads

Historic Fifth Avenue District, WI Installed February 2026

1920 Colonial on Fifth Avenue with original dark-oak treads, 36 inches wide. The staircase runs straight from the front entry to the second floor — no turns, no landings. The beige seat parks at the bottom landing near the newel post. Rail brackets lag-bolted into the oak treads at five points; battery backup tested for a six-hour runtime during a winter-storm check.

Deleglise Street — curved rail at the landing turn

Deleglise Street, WI Installed January 2026

1908 Foursquare on Deleglise Street with a 90-degree turn at the intermediate landing and the original chandelier overhead. The curved rail was laser-measured two weeks prior and fabricated at the shop. The brown seat parks at the upper landing facing away from the stairwell, carried in through the front door in four sections. Silent-glide rollers keep the ride smooth through the turn.

Hudson Street — compact cottage straight rail

Hudson Street, WI Installed March 2026

1935 cottage on Hudson Street with stone-and-tile treads and a 34-inch-wide staircase — one of the tightest we've done in Antigo. The brown seat tucks in at the bottom near a wooden sideboard, leaving just enough room for the living-room doorway. Brackets anchored into the stone treads with masonry bolts, rail hugging the wall side, seat folding to 12 inches when parked.

Spring Brook — outdoor lift on a stone porch

Spring Brook, WI Installed May 2026

Ranch home near Antigo Lake by Spring Brook with a rough stone-paved porch and five exterior steps. The cream outdoor lift is IP55-rated — sealed against rain, snow, and the freeze-thaw swings that hit the Northwoods from November through March. Sealed upholstery, stainless-steel rail hardware, and a waterproof control box with drain channels.

Straight

Mendlik Avenue — carpeted straight rail

Mendlik Avenue, WI Installed April 2026

1962 ranch on Mendlik Avenue with carpeted stairs — beige low-pile carpet that matches the stairlift's brown upholstery almost exactly. Straight rail, 14 feet, bolted through the carpet and subfloor into the tread framing. The seat rails were pre-cut at the shop from a template taken during the assessment. The tiled floor at the base gave a clean surface for the bottom bracket.

Platform Lift

Edison Street — indoor wheelchair platform lift

Edison Street, WI Installed June 2026

2003 split-level on Edison Street with six steps from the garage up to the main floor; the homeowner uses a wheelchair full-time. This is an indoor inclined platform lift — a flat black deck with yellow safety edges and a white handrail, not a seat. The platform rides a rail bolted to the stair treads, stops flush at both landings, and needed no structural changes. Indoor use only.

Common Questions

Everything Antigo Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Antigo?

A straight stairlift in Antigo starts at $2,800 installed. Curved lifts start at $9,000 — the rail is custom-bent to your staircase after a laser measurement. Outdoor lifts start at $4,000, and heavy-duty models (600 lb capacity) at $5,050. These are installed prices, not kit prices — the rail, seat, labor, cleanup, and warranty are all included. Financing is available at $79/month with no prepayment penalty.

Are there any hidden charges I should know about?

No. The price we quote at the in-home assessment is the price you pay. It covers the rail, seat, installation labor, electrical hookup, demonstration, and cleanup. We don't charge extra for weekend installs, and there's no fee to remove the lift later if your needs change. If your stairs need a city building permit, the Antigo fee runs about $35, and we handle the paperwork.

How does Antigo pricing compare to Wausau or Rhinelander?

The equipment pricing is the same across northern Wisconsin — $2,800 for a straight lift whether you're in Antigo, Merrill, or Wausau. What changes is the trip charge for service calls outside Antigo city limits. If you live in Elcho, White Lake, or Bryant, we add a small mileage fee. Homes within Antigo city limits pay no travel charge.

Does insurance cover any of the stairlift cost in Wisconsin?

Medicare does not cover stairlifts — that's federal policy, not state-specific. Wisconsin Medicaid can cover stairlifts through the IRIS program and Family Care, but only if a functional screen shows the lift is medically necessary and you qualify for a nursing-home level of care. Some private long-term-care policies cover them too — check yours for 'home modification' or 'environmental accessibility adaptation' language.

A word from Luis

I've put stairlifts in Antigo homes for over 15 years, and the housing stock tells a story. The older homes on Fifth Avenue, Deleglise Street, and Clermont Street — mostly built between 1880 and 1920 — have hardwood staircases 34 to 38 inches wide. That's tight by today's code. A straight rail bolts onto the treads and still leaves room to walk up beside it.

Out toward Spring Brook and the Mendlik Avenue side, I see more post-war ranches and 1990s splits with wider stairwells. The curved rails go mostly into the century-old downtown homes where the staircase turns 90 degrees at the landing. The freeze-thaw winters up here mean outdoor lifts need IP55 sealing — I've seen what slush and road salt do to an unsealed rail joint after two seasons.

— Luis Ramírez, Antigo
Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

If your mom or dad lives in one of Antigo's older two-story homes and you're up at night worrying about the stairs, the fix is simpler than it looks. Most straight-rail installs take about three hours — we bolt the rail into the treads, plug it into a standard outlet, and test it. The battery backup runs the lift through a Wisconsin power outage, which is not hypothetical up here in ice-storm country.

Call (800) 965-0350 or fill out the form on this page. Someone from Luis's team will come out, measure the staircase, and give you a firm number — no hidden charges, no pressure. The ADRC of Central Wisconsin on Langlade Road can help you sort through IRIS and Family Care paperwork if you need funding.
