Battery backup keeps the lift running through Broward power outages, and the swivel seat locks at the top landing for safe exit onto the upper floor.

Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across Broward County

Broward County, FL

Our Margate service area covers every established community within city limits. Oriole Gardens is our most frequent call — a 55+ community of 1,413 condos built in the 1970s where original staircases are now 50 years old. Palm Aire's golf community generates curved-rail requests from two-story colonials with mid-landing turns. Holiday Springs Village produces steady straight-rail installs in its mix of condos, townhomes, and single-family homes surrounding the former Carolina Club golf course.

Coral Bay's waterfront homes and Oriole Golf & Tennis Club's 781-unit 55+ community round out our regular route. We also serve nearby North Lauderdale, Coconut Creek, Coral Springs, Tamarac, and Pompano Beach.

Straight

Straight rail on terrazzo treads in a Palm Aire golf community colonial

Palm Aire, FL Installed March 2026

A 1975 CBS colonial inside the Palm Aire golf community with original terrazzo-over-concrete stair treads and dark hardwood-tone banisters. Mrs. Bernstein had been told by a competitor that terrazzo stairs were 'too complicated.' We used a diamond-core bit at each anchor point, sealed the drill entry with color-matched grout, and the terrazzo surface is intact. The chair sits unfolded at the bottom of the open-tread staircase in the warm-lit foyer. Mrs. Bernstein used the lift the same afternoon we finished.

Curved

Custom curved rail through a 90-degree landing in Oriole Golf Club

Oriole Golf Club, FL Installed February 2026

A 1978 Oriole Golf Club two-story with 15 steps and a 90-degree turn at a mid-landing. Mr. Kowalski has Parkinson's disease; two other companies wanted two separate rails with a walking transfer at the landing. We laser-scanned the full staircase run, fabricated a single curved rail that carries through the turn and up to the upper hallway, and added a powered swivel seat at the top landing so he exits onto the hallway floor. The seat parks at the upper floor beside framed artwork on the wall, beneath the hallway chandelier. One ride, no transfer.

Straight

Compact straight rail in a Holiday Springs Village cottage-style home

Holiday Springs Village, FL Installed January 2026

The Goldbergs called on a Monday; their father, 88, had fallen on the top step three times in six months. The Holiday Springs Village home has a compact staircase with stone-tile treads and a wooden sideboard at the base the family wanted to keep. We confirmed clearances on the first visit — the slim-profile rail tucks past the sideboard and the potted plant without touching either. The traditional decor and cozy proportions stayed completely intact. Mr. Goldberg's daughter joined the training session on FaceTime from New York. Her father slept in his own bedroom that night.

Outdoor

Outdoor seated stairlift for a raised Oriole Gardens CBS ranch entry

Oriole Gardens, FL Installed December 2025

A 1965 Oriole Gardens CBS ranch where the front entry has six concrete steps with natural stone paving at the base — a raised block foundation standard in Broward in the 1960s. Mr. Rivera, a veteran with a service-connected knee disability, had been entering through a neighbor's driveway for two years. We installed a cream-colored weather-sealed outdoor stairlift anchored through the original poured-concrete step nosing with stainless wedge bolts. The seat parks at the top of the stone-paved porch entry under the covered overhang. The Fort Lauderdale VA clinic issued the HISA prescription in three weeks. The grant covered the full installation cost.

Straight

Straight rail on carpeted stairs for a Coral Bay emergency hospital discharge

Coral Bay, FL Installed November 2025

Mrs. Okonkwo's son called from Atlanta on a Wednesday: his mother was being discharged from Broward Health Medical Center the following Friday after a hip fracture, and her 1972 Coral Bay two-story had 14 carpeted treads with nothing in place. We anchored through the carpet and pad into the concrete subfloor at each bracket point. The brown upholstery we specified matches the warm carpet tones on the staircase — the chair nearly disappears when folded at the landing. Mrs. Okonkwo arrived home Friday and rode upstairs for the first time without assistance. Her son started SMMC-LTC paperwork with Humana that weekend.

Platform Lift

Indoor wheelchair platform lift in a Paradise Gardens two-story

Paradise Gardens, FL Installed October 2025

Sra. Perez uses a wheelchair after a stroke and cannot transfer to a seated stairlift. The Paradise Gardens home has an indoor stairway with warm orange-terracotta walls and a window at the mid-landing. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift with a flat black anti-slip surface and high-visibility yellow safety edges along both sides. The white handrail locks into position during travel and folds flat when the platform parks at the lower landing. Sra. Perez rolls onto the platform, engages the rail lock, and rides to the upper floor without leaving her chair. The entire consultation and training were conducted in Spanish.

Common Questions

Everything Margate Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Margate right now?

Straight rails in standard CBS colonials (13–16 terrazzo/carpeted steps) range $2,800–$5,500 installed. Curved rails for mid-landing turns cost $9,000–$15,000 due to custom fabrication. Platform lifts for raised interior thresholds run $4,000–$6,500. All quotes include rail, seat, battery backup, installation, and first service visit, honored for 30 days.

My home was built in 1967 and has terrazzo stairs. Does that cost extra?

No extra charge for terrazzo itself; anchor technique changes but pricing remains stable. Diamond-core drilling through terrazzo without cracking the finish is standard for our Broward crew. If your 1960s home has original 60-amp electrical and requires a dedicated circuit, add $300–$500 for a licensed Broward electrician.

I qualify for Medicaid. Will I actually pay anything?

SMMC-LTC (Florida Statewide Medicaid Managed Care Long-Term Care) covers stairlifts as environmental accessibility adaptations. Qualifying residents (age 65+, adult disability, Medicaid-eligible income, CARES assessment at nursing-facility level) typically pay zero. We handle MCO authorization paperwork directly with your plan — Humana, Sunshine Health, Molina, UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, or Simply Healthcare.

Do you offer financing for homeowners who do not qualify for a grant?

Yes — three lending partners offer 0% APR for qualified buyers with plans from $79/month. Soft credit pull takes four minutes. Many Margate families combine financing with IRS medical expense deductions (licensed physician's written recommendation) to reduce effective out-of-pocket costs significantly.

A word from Luis

Margate is one of Broward County's most senior-dense cities — nearly one in four residents is over 65, and the housing stock reflects it. Most of the homes here were built between 1965 and 1985: single-story or two-story CBS ranches and colonials with original terrazzo or tile-over-concrete treads, and a generation of owners who have lived in the same house for 30 or 40 years and are not ready to leave. The 13.3% disability rate is one of the highest in Broward — the need here is real and it is not going to wait.

— Luis Ramírez, Margate
