Stairlift Service Across Lubbock County

Lubbock County, TX

From Tech Terrace — where 1940s two-stories near Texas Tech have original hardwood treads and narrow stairwells — to Overton, where brick duplexes from the same era have the tightest stairwell clearances in Lubbock, our team has mapped every block. We know which Maxey Park ranches have the split-level entry requiring a curved rail, which Southwest Lubbock subdivisions have HOAs with fast ARB turnaround, and which blocks near the former Reese AFB house retired Air Force families who qualify for HISA. We also cover Wolfforth, Shallowater, Idalou, New Deal, and Ransom Canyon — all within 15 minutes. The Lubbock VA Clinic is at 3510 4th Street; we coordinate HISA paperwork with VA Amarillo for Lubbock-area veterans.

1948 Tech Terrace two-story — rail finish matched to original oak treads

Tech Terrace, TX Installed March 2026

A 1948 two-story in Tech Terrace with dark hardwood oak treads and an open-tread stairway the family has preserved since the original build. Mrs. Whitaker opened the assessment with: 'Don’t touch the banister.' We brought finish samples, matched the rail to the walnut-toned oak grain, and bolted the straight track into the treads without touching a single spindle. The beige seat sits unfolded at the bottom landing in the warm indoor light, and the rail runs straight up the right side of the open staircase. Nearly invisible when the seat is folded and parked at the top.

Maxey Park split-level — 90° curved rail to the upper landing

Maxey Park, TX Installed February 2026

A 1970s split-level in Maxey Park with a 90° turn at the upper landing. The entire consultation was conducted in Spanish because that’s what Mrs. Gonzalez’s mother preferred. We laser-scanned the staircase, fabricated a curved rail that bends around the half-wall balustrade at the top floor, and installed a swivel-exit seat so Abuela steps onto the hallway floor. The brown-upholstered seat parks at the upper landing beneath the chandelier, with framed art on the wall beside her. One continuous ride, no mid-stair transfer.

Overton brick duplex — compact rail in a 29-inch stairwell

Overton, TX Installed January 2026

A 1950s brick duplex in Overton where the stairwell measured 29 inches wall-to-wall. Mrs. Andrews had a wooden sideboard at the bottom of the stairs that had been there since the Kennedy administration — it was staying. We fitted the compact-profile straight rail on the stone-tiled treads, with the brown-upholstered seat tucking beside the cabinet and its potted plant. The cottage feel of the traditional interior stayed intact, and the folding footrest keeps full passage width clear in this compact space.

Southwest Lubbock raised entry — outdoor rail through a full West Texas year

Southwest Lubbock, TX Installed December 2025

A raised-entry home in Southwest Lubbock with rough natural stone paving at the front porch and five steps from the driveway to the front door. Mr. Harrell is a retired oilfield worker whose knees gave out after 30 years of rig work. We installed the cream-colored weather-sealed seat on an outdoor rail over the stone-paved entry, with UV-stabilized components and a dust-sealed motor housing for the spring haboobs. The seat parks at the covered porch beside the front door, and the cold-weather battery handled the -8°F January cold snap without a missed ride.

Southwest Lubbock production home — 600 lb bariatric rail on carpeted stairs

Southwest Lubbock, TX Installed November 2025

Mr. Castillo is 6’4” and 410 lbs — he’d been told by one national chain that his production two-story would require structural reinforcement. The carpeted stairs had a landing area with tiled floor at the bottom and wall-mounted light switches along the run. We sent a bariatric-certified installer: the reinforced frame carries 600 lbs, the 22-inch padded brown-upholstered seat matches the carpet tones, and the mounting brackets bolt into the standard carpet-covered treads at existing subfloor attachment points without additional structural work. Install wrapped in an afternoon.

Platform Lift

Tech Terrace three-story — indoor wheelchair platform for a post-stroke resident

Tech Terrace, TX Installed October 2025

Dr. Morrison’s mother is 81, post-stroke, and uses a power wheelchair full-time — she cannot transfer to a seated stairlift. Their 1952 three-story near the Texas Tech campus has an indoor stairway to the basement family room with orange-toned terracotta walls and natural window light. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift with a flat black anti-slip surface, yellow high-visibility safety edges, and white handrails. She rolls on at the top, rides the platform down the indoor stairway, and rolls off into the family room without ever leaving her chair.

Common Questions

Everything Lubbock Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift actually cost in Lubbock right now?

Straight rails in standard Lubbock homes — the two-stories in Tech Terrace, the duplexes in Overton, the production homes in Southwest Lubbock — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails, needed for split-level entries and the occasional older staircase with a landing turn, run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact geometry. Outdoor models for raised porches and side entries run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, cold-weather battery, and the first service visit.

Are prices different in Lubbock than Dallas or Houston?

Equipment prices are the same across Texas. Shipping to Lubbock does not carry a separate freight surcharge — it’s built into the installed price. What is different: every Lubbock install ships with a cold-weather battery and high-heat lubricant as standard, because the Llano Estacado climate requires both. National chains quote the Houston spec and then charge extra for the upgrades you need out here. We include them because leaving them off in Lubbock is negligent.

Do you charge extra for Spanish-language service?

No. Every Lubbock assessment can be conducted in Spanish at your request — Luis is bilingual and has walked dozens of families through every line of the paperwork in their preferred language. The Hispanic community in Lubbock is significant and growing, and every printed quote, consent form, and operating manual is available in Spanish. Zero surcharge.

I'm on a fixed income. Is there a budget option?

Yes. Certified pre-owned straight rails start at $1,800 installed with a 2-year warranty. We also offer 0% APR financing from $79/month. For Lubbock specifically, the STAR+PLUS Waiver covers stairlifts for Medicaid-eligible residents, and the VA HISA grant covers up to $6,800 for service-connected veterans. Texas’s 100% disabled-veteran property-tax exemption frees annual cash that many families apply toward the install. We help you map the math.

A word from Luis

Most Lubbock families call me after a near-miss — a slip on the stairs of a Tech Terrace two-story, a parent who hasn’t been to the second floor since a hip replacement, a son in Dallas worried about his mother alone in an Overton home she’s lived in since the 1960s.

My job is simple: drive to your house within 24 hours, measure once, and give you a price that’s honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. En español si lo prefiere.
