Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across Kenosha County

Kenosha County, WI

From the 1920s bungalow belt in Allendale — where steep, narrow treads mean the stairlift conversation is almost always about reaching a second-floor bedroom — to the lakefront Victorians along Third Avenue in the Southport and Library Park historic districts, where curved rails thread past century-old banisters and newel posts, our team has mapped every block in Kenosha. We know which Lincoln Park Cape Cods need a slim-profile rail for tight-walled stairwells, which Sunnyside ranches have the split-level entry requiring a swivel-exit seat, and which Columbus Park and Forest Park homes fall inside the city's four National Register historic districts. Kenosha County stretches from Pleasant Prairie south to Somers and Bristol north and west — we staff dedicated coverage so you never wait on a tech driving from Milwaukee.

1928 Allendale bungalow — straight rail on original oak treads

Allendale, WI Installed March 2026

A 1928 bungalow in Allendale four blocks from Southport Park with original oak treads, a steep 38-degree pitch, and a banister that Mrs. Krawczyk's father installed when the family bought the house in 1951. She was not about to let anyone touch it. We bolted the slim-profile rail into the treads only — the stringer wall side, not the banister side — and parked the chair folded at the top landing where it sits flush against the wall and out of the hallway. The steep pitch required a slow-speed motor calibration so the ride feels steady, not like a carnival attraction. Mrs. Krawczyk has used it twice a day since March and her daughter in Racine stopped calling every morning to ask if she fell.

Third Avenue Victorian — curved rail threaded past the original walnut banister

Southport / Third Avenue, WI Installed February 2026

A 1905 Victorian on Third Avenue near the lakefront with an original walnut banister, a 90-degree turn at the upper landing, and decorative spindles that are older than the state building code. Mr. Andersen had a stroke in January and his physical therapist at Froedtert South told the family the stairs were no longer safe. We laser-scanned the staircase, fabricated a curved rail that threads the upper landing turn without touching a single spindle or the walnut newel post, and matched the rail finish to the existing wood. The whole family — three generations — stood at the bottom and watched the first ride. Mr. Andersen's granddaughter said it looked like it had always been there.

Lincoln Park Cape Cod — straight rail in a cozy postwar stairwell with stone treads

Lincoln Park, WI Installed January 2026

A 1946 Cape Cod in Lincoln Park with a compact stairwell — 28 inches wall to banister — stone-tile treads original to the house, and a wooden sideboard at the bottom landing that Mrs. Novak refused to move. We fitted the slim-profile rail against the wall side, threading the mount brackets between the stone treads without cracking a single tile. The chair parks at the bottom next to the sideboard with room to spare. Mr. Novak needed the rail for the second-floor bedrooms, and the tight cottage stairwell turned out to be a textbook fit for the slim-profile model we stock specifically for Kenosha's pre-1950 construction. The rail has run through the coldest January in five years without a service call.

Columbus Park raised porch — weather-sealed outdoor lift on stone paving

Columbus Park, WI Installed September 2025

A 1930s Columbus Park home with a raised front porch, nine exterior stone steps, and full exposure to Lake Michigan wind from the east. Mr. Jankowski is a Korean War-era veteran who qualified for a HISA grant through the Kenosha VA Clinic — we pre-filled VA Form 10-0103, coordinated with the Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center, and the grant covered the majority of the cost. Every component is sealed against the lake-effect moisture that corrodes unprotected rails within three years, the motor housing has a freeze-thaw gasket kit, and the battery is rated to -25 degrees F. Installed in September before the first freeze — it has run through a full Wisconsin winter, including three sub-zero weeks in January, without a service call.

Sunnyside ranch — straight rail on carpeted split-level entry stairs

Sunnyside, WI Installed August 2025

A 1958 ranch in Sunnyside with a carpeted half-flight of eight steps between the split-level entry and the main living floor — the most common staircase we measure in postwar Kenosha. Mrs. Torres is 76, lives with her adult son, and had fallen on the bottom step twice in six months. Her son called after the second fall. Luis conducted the assessment in Spanish at Mrs. Torres' request, installed the rail through the carpet into the wood treads beneath (no carpet removal required), and added a swivel-exit seat so she steps off onto the hallway floor instead of the top tread. Her son said the house is quieter now — he stopped listening for the sound of a fall every time she went to the kitchen.

Platform Lift

Pleasant Prairie split-level — indoor wheelchair platform lift with safety edges

Pleasant Prairie, WI Installed July 2025

A 1970s split-level in Pleasant Prairie where Mr. Dietrich uses a power wheelchair after a motorcycle accident. The seven-step rise between the entry level and the main living floor made a seated stairlift impossible — he needed to ride his chair onto the platform. We installed an enclosed indoor wheelchair platform lift with bright yellow safety edges on the platform perimeter, automatic gate locks at both levels, and a keyed call station. The platform is rated for the chair plus occupant at 750 lbs combined, and the yellow edge strips are pressure-sensitive — any contact stops the platform instantly. Mr. Dietrich's physical therapist from Froedtert South signed off on the install as part of his home modification plan. He has used it multiple times daily since July without a single issue.

Common Questions

Everything Kenosha Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Kenosha right now?

Straight rails in standard Kenosha homes — the Allendale bungalows, Lincoln Park Cape Cods, Sunnyside ranches — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for lakefront Victorians with landing turns, split-level entries, and any staircase with a mid-flight bend run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact geometry. Outdoor models for raised front porches and lake-facing entries run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are prices different in Kenosha than Milwaukee or Racine?

Equipment prices are the same across Southeast Wisconsin — we don't inflate quotes for lakefront addresses or historic district homes. What varies slightly is install labor for unusual conditions: century-old banister preservation in the Third Avenue historic homes, freeze-thaw gasket upgrades on outdoor installs (included standard on all Kenosha County work), and slim-profile rail requirements in the narrow stairwells common in pre-1950 construction. We itemize everything upfront.

Does the lake-effect cold affect the equipment?

Kenosha's lakefront location means wind-carried moisture off Lake Michigan corrodes unprotected outdoor rails within three years, and January temperatures drop well below zero. Every unit we install in Kenosha County ships with a -25 degree F lithium iron phosphate battery (factory-default sealed lead-acid fails at -10 degrees F), a freeze-thaw gasket kit on the motor housing, and Lake Michigan-spec corrosion protection on outdoor installs. These aren't upgrades — they're the Southeast Wisconsin default.

Is it cheaper to pay upfront or finance a stairlift in Kenosha?

Paying upfront avoids interest entirely, and some families combine a partial HISA grant or IRIS waiver with out-of-pocket savings to eliminate any monthly payment. If you finance, our 0% APR plans for qualified buyers mean no extra cost over 12 months — you pay the quoted price spread across installments. For longer terms, fixed-rate plans start at $79/month. Either way, the full cost qualifies as a medical expense deduction on your federal and Wisconsin state returns if a physician recommends the lift in writing. We walk through the math at the assessment.

A word from Luis

Most Kenosha families call me after a close call on a steep set of basement stairs in a 1940s bungalow — a slip on the narrow treads in an Allendale Cape Cod, a parent who hasn't used the upstairs bedrooms since a hip replacement, a son in Chicago worried about his mother alone in the Lincoln Park house she's lived in for 50 years.

My job is simple: drive to your house within 24 hours, measure once, and give you a price that's honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. En español si lo prefiere.
