Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across Dutchess County

Dutchess County, NY

We install across all four Town of Hyde Park hamlets and the surrounding Hudson Valley estates. The Hyde Park hamlet on the river side has 1900-era farmhouses with chestnut treads and tight stairwells. East Park off Route 9G is mid-century ranches and 1970s splits — most need straight rails. Staatsburg has the largest concentration of pre-1920 homes including estate-cottage conversions near the Mills Mansion that often need curved rails. Haviland, expanded in the 1940s and 1970s, is suburban single-family with predictable 13-tread runs. We also serve Crum Elbow off St. Andrews Road, the Roosevelt Estate corridor homes south of Springwood, and the Marist College-area homes on the southern edge of town.

Common Questions

Everything Hyde Park Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Hyde Park, NY?

A straight rail in Hyde Park starts at $2,800 installed for a standard 13-tread run — typical for Haviland capes and East Park ranches. Curved rails for Staatsburg estate-cottage half-turns start at $9,000 because the rail is custom-bent to your stair geometry. Outdoor IP55 rails for porch steps run from $4,000.

Are there hidden fees for Town of Hyde Park permits?

Hyde Park does not require a building permit for an interior stairlift. Outdoor installs sometimes need a $50 electrical permit if we add a new circuit, processed through the Hyde Park Building Department on Route 9G.

Does Medicare cover a stairlift in Hyde Park?

Original Medicare (Parts A and B) does not cover stairlifts because they are home modifications, not durable medical equipment. Some Medicare Advantage plans sold in Dutchess County (MVP, Empire, Humana) include a Special Supplemental Benefits for the Chronically Ill allowance — verify your specific plan.

Can I finance a stairlift on a fixed income?

Yes. Financing starts at $79 per month for a straight-rail install over 60 months. Soft credit pull, no prepayment penalty. The buyback program credits 30 percent if you remove the lift within 24 months.

A word from Luis

Hyde Park homes are old in ways that surprise out-of-state installers. The houses along Route 9 between the Roosevelt and Vanderbilt estates were built between 1890 and 1925 — original chestnut treads, no subfloor under the runner, and stair widths that vary by an inch or more from top to bottom. I check tread depth at three points before I quote.

The 1940s capes in Haviland are predictable — 36-inch finish width, 7-inch riser, 11-inch tread. A 13-foot straight rail clears in one morning. The Staatsburg estate-cottage conversions are the hard ones. Half-turn at the upper landing, original newel post in the way. We custom-bend the rail to clear the post by exactly 4 inches and the seat parks against the wall, not the post.

Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

Hyde Park is 90 minutes from our Mid-Hudson dispatch hub and we run trucks up Route 9 three days a week. The Hudson Valley freeze-thaw cycle is real — every outdoor install we do here uses the IP55-sealed unit with a stainless rail, not powder-coated steel.

Send us a photo of your stair and a tape measurement of the bottom tread depth. If you are in the 12538 ZIP, we have likely measured a similar stair within a mile. Quote turnaround is 24 hours.
