Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across Dutchess County

Dutchess County, NY

From the 1890s-1920s brick row houses along Main Street and Wolcott Avenue — steep narrow stairwells with original wood banisters that define the old factory-worker housing — to the Victorian multi-stories on Tioronda Avenue and South Avenue with their full 14-tread flights and ornate newel posts, from the converted loft spaces in the Beacon Falls area to the 1950s-1970s ranches and split-levels on the hillside above Route 9D, our crew has installed in every Beacon neighborhood. We know which Main Street row houses have the sub-28-inch stairwells that need compact rails, which South Avenue Victorians have the switchback landings that require curved rails, and which hilltop homes above Dia:Beacon have the exposed outdoor entry stairs that need weather-sealed outdoor lifts.

Main Street row house — compact rail in a 27-inch factory-era stairwell

Main Street, NY Installed March 2026

A 1905 brick row house on lower Main Street with a stairwell measuring 27 inches wall-to-wall — standard for Beacon's factory-worker housing from the hat-making era. Mrs. Antonelli is 79 and had been using only the ground floor for over a year because the steep, narrow stairs felt unsafe after her knee replacement. Two companies told her a stairlift wouldn't fit. We installed the narrow-seat compact rail. The folded chair clears the opposite wall by three inches. She rides it twice a day and has her upstairs bedroom back.

South Avenue Victorian — curved rail on a 180° switchback landing

South Avenue, NY Installed February 2026

A three-story Victorian on South Avenue with a 180° switchback staircase — seven treads up, a landing, a full turn, then eight more treads to the bedroom floor. Mr. Nguyen's mother had moved in after his father's death and was stranded on the ground floor because the switchback was too demanding with her walker. Two companies proposed two separate straight rails with a standing transfer at the landing. We laser-scanned the switchback, fabricated a single curved rail that carries from the foyer to the upper hallway in one continuous ride, and added a swivel-exit seat at the top. No transfer, no gap, one ride.

Tioronda Avenue colonial — rail matched to original oak banister

Tioronda Avenue, NY Installed January 2026

A 1928 colonial on Tioronda Avenue with an original hand-turned oak banister and 13 carpeted treads. Mrs. Callahan had restored the banister herself over two weekends in 1994 and was very clear: 'You touch that banister and I'll throw you out.' We bolted the rail into the treads only, matched the rail finish to the oak tone, and positioned the lower park station so the folded chair sits flush behind the entry closet door. Her neighbor came for dinner the following week and didn't notice the lift until Mrs. Callahan rode it upstairs to get a photo album.

Route 9D hillside — outdoor lift on 11 exposed concrete entry steps

Route 9D hillside, NY Installed November 2025

A 1960s ranch perched on the hillside above Route 9D with 11 concrete entry steps from the driveway up to the front door — fully exposed to Hudson Valley weather with no overhang or vestibule. Mr. Petersen is 76 and had slipped on icy steps twice in the previous two winters. We installed a weather-sealed outdoor stairlift with galvanized hardware, cold-rated battery rated to -10°F, and stainless-steel fasteners resistant to the road salt that blows up from Route 9D. The IP54-sealed motor housing handles nor'easter sleet without flinching. He's used it through the entire winter without a single issue.

Wolcott Avenue — straight rail with swivel exit for a cane user

Wolcott Avenue, NY Installed October 2025

A 1912 frame house on Wolcott Avenue with 14 treads, a tight top landing, and a homeowner who walks with a quad cane after a stroke. Mr. Ruiz's daughter had been staying overnight three times a week to help him up the stairs to bed. We installed a straight rail with a powered 90° swivel at the top so he exits facing the hallway, never standing on the top tread. His cane waits at both landings. He rides it independently every night and his daughter visits because she wants to, not because she has to.

Platform Lift

Long Dock area — indoor platform lift for power wheelchair user

Long Dock, NY Installed September 2025

A renovated two-story near the Long Dock waterfront where Mr. Vasquez has used a power wheelchair for three years after a spinal cord injury during his service at West Point. A seated stairlift was not an option — he cannot safely transfer out of his chair. We installed an indoor inclined wheelchair platform lift alongside the existing staircase, with a flat black deck, yellow safety edges per ADA visibility standards, white powder-coated handrails, and a keyed lockout so visiting nieces and nephews cannot operate it unsupervised. The HISA grant through the Castle Point VA Medical Center covered the full $6,800. We prefilled VA Form 10-0103 and the prescription came back in three weeks.

Common Questions

Everything Beacon Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Beacon right now?

Straight rails in standard Beacon homes — the Main Street and Wolcott Avenue row houses, the Tioronda Avenue Victorians, the hillside ranches above Route 9D — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for Victorian homes with switchback landings and split-levels with 90° turns run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is custom-manufactured to your exact stair geometry. Outdoor models for raised stoops and exposed hillside entry stairs run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes the rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Beacon real estate has gotten expensive. Are stairlift prices higher here?

Equipment prices are the same across Dutchess County — we don't adjust quotes based on Beacon's premium zip code. What can vary slightly is install labor: the narrow row-house stairwells on Main Street take longer to mount than a standard suburban two-story, and curved rails for Victorian switchback landings cost more than a straight run. We tell you the line items upfront. No Hudson Valley markup.

Is a refurbished stairlift a realistic option in Beacon?

For straight staircases — yes. A certified factory-reconditioned unit can save 30–40% off new, with fresh upholstery, new battery, and a 2-year warranty. For the curved installs common in Beacon's Victorians with switchback landings and multi-story row houses, refurbished is almost never practical because the rail is custom-fabricated to a specific staircase geometry. Ask during the assessment — we'll tell you honestly whether your floor plan fits refurbished inventory.

Do you offer financing if I don't qualify for the NHTD Waiver or HISA?

Yes — three lending partners with 0% APR for qualified buyers and low fixed-rate plans from $79/month. Application is a soft credit pull (no hit to your score), takes about 4 minutes, and approval is usually instant. Many Beacon families combine financing with the IRS medical deduction or a partial HISA grant to bring the monthly payment down further. We walk you through the math during the free assessment.

A word from Luis

Beacon is a Hudson Valley factory town that became an artist town, and the housing tells both stories. The 1890s-1920s brick row houses on Main Street and Tioronda Avenue have steep, narrow stairwells with original wood banisters that nobody wants touched. The Victorian multi-stories south of the train station have full 14-tread flights with tight landings. And the converted hat factory lofts on the east end have industrial staircases with metal treads and open risers.

I measure every one of them the same way: laser, notepad, written quote honored for 30 days. No pressure. No second visit from a closer. No upsell.
