Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across Hopewell County

Hopewell County, VA

We install across Hopewell's historic core. City Point on the peninsula — where the James and Appomattox Rivers meet — has 1840s homes with hand-cut oak treads and load-bearing center stringers; we always survey those in person before quoting. Crescent Hills and Mansion Hills are full of 1915-1925 Sears Roebuck and Aladdin kit homes with narrow 26-27 inch tread widths — slim-profile straight rails go in clean.

The DuPont-era worker housing in B Village has short runs but tight upper landings; we sometimes spec a 90° curved rail. The Downtown Hopewell Historic District near the courthouse and A Village management houses round out our regular service area, with Appomattox Heights and Kippax Estates adding 1950s-1970s brick ranches where straight rails are the standard install.

Common Questions

Everything Hopewell Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a straight stairlift cost in Hopewell, VA?

A slim-profile straight rail in a Crescent Hills or Mansion Hills kit home — 12-13 narrow treads — runs from $2,800 installed. That includes the DC motor, battery backup, swivel seat, and a 5-year warranty plus lifetime rail coverage.

How much does a curved stairlift cost for B Village or City Point homes?

Curved rails for the tight upper landings in B Village bungalows or the half-flight City Point homes start at $9,000. The rail is laser-measured on Day 1 and custom-built in 3-4 weeks; installation takes 4-5 hours.

Are there extra charges for Hopewell historic homes?

No. The price quoted at survey is the price you pay. There's no charge for the home visit, no charge for the laser measurement on curved jobs, and no surcharge for the 1840s hand-cut oak treads in City Point.

Do you offer financing in Hopewell?

Yes — financing starts from $79/month with approved credit. We also accept VA HISA grants ($6,800 for service-connected veterans through Richmond VA Medical Center) and Virginia's CCC Plus Waiver plus the Livable Home Tax Credit ($6,500).

A word from Luis

Hopewell is mostly pre-1930 housing — Sears Roebuck and Aladdin kit homes built for DuPont workers between 1915 and 1925. The treads are narrow, often 26-27 inches, and the runs are steep. Half my Crescent Hills installs are slim-profile straight rails because anything wider blocks the wall.

The City Point homes near St. John's Episcopal are different — 1840s construction, hand-cut oak treads, weight-bearing center stringers. I always inspect those in person. The B Village bungalows have shorter runs but a tight upper landing — sometimes a curved rail is the only way to clear the doorway. And every outdoor install in this city has to handle James River humidity and the heavy rainfall that comes with Virginia summer storms and tropical remnants tracking inland up the James River corridor.

— Luis Ramírez, Hopewell
Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

Hopewell housing was built between 1915 and 1925 for DuPont workers climbing two flights twice a day. A century later, those treads still climb — but the people climbing them are now in their 70s and 80s. A straight rail in a Crescent Hills kit home installs in 3 hours and adds maybe $40 a year to your power bill.

Call us for a same-week home survey across Hopewell, Prince George County, and the Petersburg-Colonial Heights ring. No deposit until your rail is measured and your installation date is locked.
