Common Questions

Everything Highland Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

How much does a stairlift cost in Highland, UT?

Most Highland homes need a curved unit because of the two-story foyer layout, starting at $9,000 fully installed because the rail is custom-bent to your exact stairs. A straight unit for a basement walkout or Coventry townhome starts at $2,800. Heavy-duty (600 lb) starts at $5,050. Outdoor weather-sealed units start at $4,000. Quote includes rail, chair, install, removal of old equipment, and 5-year warranty.

Why are Highland stairlift installs more expensive than Lehi or American Fork?

The rails are longer. A typical Lehi townhome has a 12-foot straight run. A Highland Hollows two-story foyer is often 17-22 feet of curved rail, which is more material, more bending labor, and more on-site time. The hourly install cost is the same — the variable is rail length and number of bends. We quote both options before you sign.

What financing is available for Highland residents?

Payments from $79/month with no money down for qualifying applicants, run through a third-party medical-equipment lender. Most Utah County homeowners qualify based on home equity. Approval is typically 24-48 hours. We can also bill the Utah Aging Waiver, New Choices Waiver, or VA HISA grants directly so you never pay out of pocket if the program covers it.

Will a stairlift change my Utah County property tax?

No. Utah County does not classify a stairlift as a permanent structural improvement, so the assessor will not raise your home's appraised value. It is treated as personal medical equipment. Most Utah homeowner policies cover the unit under personal property without a premium increase — check with your carrier.

A word from Luis

Highland is unlike anywhere else in Utah County for stairlift work. The standard Highland home is 4,000 to 6,000 square feet on a half-acre lot, with a two-story foyer and a curved or L-shaped staircase that runs 16 to 22 feet. These are not the compact runs I see in Lehi or American Fork. The dollar value of these jobs is higher because the rails are longer, but the install is actually easier — wide treads, modern construction, no plaster walls to worry about.

The other Highland pattern is the secondary staircase from the basement walkout, which is common in homes backing onto Mitchell Hollow or the Highland Hills bench. Those are usually straight rails to a finished basement where in-laws have moved in. Either way, I bring everything in one truck and finish in a day.

Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

Highland's two-story foyer staircases are some of the longest residential runs we install in Utah County. The good news is they are also the easiest — modern construction, wide treads, no surprises behind the drywall. A curved rail in The Hollows or Highland Hills typically takes one day on site after the 4-6 week manufacturing lead time.

Free in-home measurement, written quote on the spot, no deposit until you sign. Luis covers Highland, Alpine, Cedar Hills, and the Lehi-American Fork corridor personally. Call or use the form.
