Bestseller

The workhorse of Harlingen's ranch homes, retirement communities, and two-story additions. Over 65% of the stairlifts we install in Cameron County are this model. The post-war homes in Downtown and Dixieland, the newer colonials in Treasure Hills, and the Country Club area two-stories all take a straight rail cleanly. Rail bolts to your treads, seat and footrest fold flat, and the heat-rated battery backup keeps the lift running through a Valley power outage.

Starting at $2,400 installed

  • Battery backup for power outages
  • Swivel seat with safety lock
  • Two wireless remote controls

Stairlift Service Across Cameron County

Cameron County, TX

From Downtown Harlingen — where the oldest homes sit alongside the historic commercial district, with 1950s concrete-block construction and narrow stairways in two-story additions — to Treasure Hills and the Country Club area, where 1990s and 2000s two-story colonials have standard 14-tread runs that install in three hours flat, our team has mapped every pocket of Harlingen that has stairs.

We cover Dixieland south of the Arroyo Colorado, Pendleton Park where 1970s-80s ranches with added second floors produce the non-standard stairways that need curved rails, and Wilson Park where raised entries above the flood line are common outdoor install territory. Every assessment is available in Spanish — most of our Harlingen consultations are.

Treasure Hills colonial — beige seat on dark oak stairs, heat-rated motor

Treasure Hills, TX Installed March 2026

A Treasure Hills colonial with dark hardwood oak treads and the standard 14-step run to the bedrooms. Sra. Montoya's daughter called from San Antonio after her mother stopped going upstairs to sleep — she was napping in a recliner in the den. The entire assessment was in Spanish. We matched the beige seat to the warm oak tones, bolted the rail into the treads, and the heat-rated motor handles the Valley summer without throttling. Sra. Montoya called her daughter from the upstairs bedroom that night. First time in four months.

90° turn in a Pendleton Park home with added second floor

Pendleton Park, TX Installed February 2026

A Pendleton Park ranch where the family added a second floor in the late 1980s. The stairway makes a 90-degree turn at the upper landing with a non-standard tread width that no catalog rail could fit. The consultation was in Spanish for Sr. Treviño, a retired maintenance worker at the Harlingen VA who has lived in this house since 1979. We laser-scanned the staircase, custom-fabricated the curved rail to the exact geometry, and the brown seat parks at the upper hallway where he swivels to step off onto the carpet. His VA HISA grant covered the full cost.

Downtown Harlingen — compact rail on tile-over-concrete treads

Downtown Harlingen, TX Installed January 2026

A 1960s concrete-block home near Downtown with tile-over-concrete treads and a narrow stairwell that led to bedrooms the builder added above the original single-story footprint. Sra. Flores's son drove from Houston every other weekend to help her upstairs. We specified the slim-profile rail, anchored into the concrete substrate with masonry-rated expansion bolts, and the brown seat rides the full run with inches to spare on each side. Every button was explained in Spanish, twice. Her son now drives down once a month — for visits, not for staircase duty.

Wilson Park raised entry — heat-rated outdoor lift on stone paving

Wilson Park, TX Installed December 2025

A Wilson Park bungalow with a raised front entry — six exterior stone steps from the driveway to the front door, built above the flood line common in homes near the Arroyo Colorado. Mr. Garza is a Vietnam-era veteran who qualified for a HISA grant through the VA Texas Valley Coastal Bend Health Care System. We prefilled VA Form 10-0103 in English and walked him through it in Spanish, had the prescription back in four weeks, and installed the cream outdoor seat on stone paving with masonry anchors before the summer heat set in. Every component is heat-rated for the Valley's 95°F+ humidity and the UV-stabilized upholstery is rated for 2,000+ hours of direct sun.

Country Club area — swivel-exit on carpeted stairs for diabetic neuropathy

Country Club area, TX Installed November 2025

A Country Club area two-story with 13 carpeted treads and a residential landing. Mrs. Singh — a retired schoolteacher and Winter Texan from Minnesota who bought this home year-round after her husband passed — has diabetic neuropathy and cannot feel the top tread reliably. We installed the brown seat with the swivel-exit feature so the chair rotates 90 degrees at the upper landing and she steps onto the hallway carpet instead of the top step. She's used it every day since without a single issue, through two full Valley summers.

Platform Lift

Indoor platform lift with yellow safety edges for a Dixieland veteran

Dixieland, TX Installed October 2025

Sr. Rodriguez is a disabled veteran who uses a power wheelchair and needed access between the ground floor and bedrooms in his family's Dixieland home — a 1970s ranch with a second floor added in the 1990s. We installed an inclined platform lift on the indoor stairway with a flat deck and yellow high-visibility safety edges. The platform folds against the wall when not in use so the grandchildren still use the stairs. The entire consultation and training was conducted in Spanish. The Harlingen VA processed his HISA grant in four weeks — among the fastest turnarounds in the Valley. He sleeps in his own bedroom again.

Common Questions

Everything Harlingen Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Harlingen right now?

Straight rails in standard Harlingen homes — the Treasure Hills colonials, the Pendleton Park ranches with added second floors, the newer Country Club area two-stories — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for non-standard stairways from incremental construction and landing turns run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact geometry. Outdoor models with heat-rated hardware for raised entries and front porches run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, heat-rated battery backup, and the first service visit.

I can't afford this out of pocket. What are my real options?

Harlingen families have three funding routes that can reduce or eliminate out-of-pocket cost. STAR+PLUS Medicaid waiver covers stairlifts for qualifying residents at zero cost — call HHSC at 1-800-964-2777. The VA HISA grant through the VA Texas Valley Coastal Bend Health Care System covers up to $6,800 for service-connected veterans and $2,000 for non-service-connected. The IRS medical expense deduction returns $600-$2,400 on your federal taxes with a physician's letter (we provide the template). We also offer 0% APR financing from $79/month. We walk through every option — in Spanish — during the free assessment.

Do you charge extra for Spanish-language service?

No. Every Harlingen assessment is conducted in Spanish by default — our Rio Grande Valley team is fully bilingual. Every printed quote, consent form, and operating manual is available in Spanish. Zero surcharge. In a city that's over 82% Hispanic, Spanish-language service is the baseline, not an option.

Are prices different in Harlingen than Brownsville or McAllen?

Equipment prices are the same across the Rio Grande Valley. What can vary slightly is install labor for non-standard stairway geometry in older homes where second floors were added incrementally. We itemize every line on the written quote. No surprise fees between Valley cities.

A word from Luis

Harlingen is the VA city of the Rio Grande Valley — the Health Care Center on Veterans Drive is the reason half the veterans in Cameron County settled here. Most of my Harlingen calls come from two directions: a vet whose VA provider just told him the stairs aren't safe anymore, or a daughter calling from San Antonio or Houston about elderly parents in a house the family has owned for 40 years.

My job is simple: get to your house within 24 hours, measure once, and give you a price that's honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. Todo en español si lo prefiere — aquí es lo normal.
