Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across Hancock County

Hancock County, IN

We install across central Greenfield and the surrounding Hancock County subdivisions. Around the Greenfield Residential Historic District and the Courthouse Square, the pre-1900 frames have narrow oak treads — 32 to 34 inches — and rails must mount through the original stringers. Riley Park and the streets near the James Whitcomb Riley Home have similar tread geometry. South of US-40, Greyhawk Woods, Hancock Meadows, and Fieldstone are 1990s-2010s builds with carpeted 36-inch runs that take a standard straight rail without modification. Country Mill, Cranberry Lake Estates, Hickory Hill, and Fox Cove often add a basement flight to the tornado shelter, which we quote alongside the main install.

Common Questions

Everything Greenfield Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a straight stairlift cost in Greenfield, IN?

Straight installs in Greenfield start at $2,800 for a standard 13-14 foot rail. Most carpeted runs in Greyhawk Woods, Hancock Meadows, and Fieldstone fall in the $2,800-$3,400 band. Riley-era homes with 32-inch treads sometimes need a custom shorter rail and run $3,200-$3,600. All quotes include install, removal of packaging, and a same-day function test.

How much is a curved stairlift in Greenfield?

Curved rails in Greenfield start at $9,000 and average $11,500-$14,000 depending on the number of turns and the floor-to-floor rise. The L-shaped landings common in older Pennsylvania Street homes typically come in around $11,000. Two-flight stairs in Cranberry Lake Estates with a 90-degree midpoint usually run $13,500-$15,000.

Are there any hidden fees on a Greenfield stairlift install?

No. Our Greenfield quote is a flat number that covers the rail, the seat, the install crew, removal and disposal of packaging, the function test, and the post-install walkthrough. The only additional cost is the optional power-folding hinge ($350-$450) for installs near a doorway. There is no separate Hancock County permit fee — straight rails do not require a permit and we pull the curved rail permit at no charge.

Can I finance a stairlift in Greenfield?

Yes. Financing starts at $79/month with 0% APR for 12 or 24 months on approved credit. Most Greenfield buyers split the payment across the install month and the next 11 months — a $3,200 straight rail comes to roughly $267/month at 12-month 0% APR. We also accept HELOC payoffs and the Indiana Section 5 medical-modification loan if you qualify.

A word from Luis

Greenfield homes split into two patterns I see weekly. The pre-1920 houses around the Greenfield Residential Historic District and Courthouse Square have original tongue-and-groove oak treads, often only 32 to 34 inches wide between the wall and a wood handrail you cannot move. I bolt the rail directly into the treads — never the wallboard — so the load sits on the same structure the original 1890s carpenter used. Every bolt goes through the stringer at a 90-degree angle, and when the lift is removed the holes plug with matching oak dowels.

The other half of Greenfield is the 1990s-and-newer subdivisions: Greyhawk Woods, Hancock Meadows, and Fieldstone have standard 36-inch carpeted runs. But almost every one also has a basement flight to the tornado shelter, and that flight is what families call about first. I always quote both flights on the same visit so the homeowner can budget the second install before they actually need it — the basement rail is shorter and costs less than the main floor run.

— Luis Ramírez, Greenfield
Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

Greenfield's mix of Riley-era oak-tread homes near the Courthouse Square and the post-1990 subdivisions ringing US-40 and SR-9 covers almost every install pattern we see in central Indiana. Whether your stairs are original 32-inch oak or carpeted 36-inch straight runs in Fieldstone or Greyhawk Woods, we measure on-site before quoting and pull any required Hancock County permit ourselves — no extra charge.

Most Greenfield installs finish in one day. We stock standard rails at the Indianapolis warehouse 25 miles west, so same-week scheduling is the norm, not the exception. Call or request a quote online and we will have a date on the calendar within 48 hours.
