Stairlift Service Across Madison County

Madison County, IN

From the Craftsman bungalows and foursquares of Shadyside — where we regularly match rail finishes to original oak without touching a single spindle — to the post-war split-levels of the East Side and Edgewood, where the 90° mid-landing turn is nearly universal in 1955–1965 houses, our team has measured every staircase configuration Anderson produces. Westwood bi-levels need folding-rail options for tight ceilings. Country Club Heights colonials have wide formal staircases suited to slim-profile rails. South Madison ranches often need outdoor lifts for raised front entries. We also cover Chesterfield, Pendleton, and Edgewood without a travel surcharge.

Shadyside foursquare — 1920s oak banister preserved, four-hour install

Shadyside, IN Installed March 2026

A 1923 auto-era foursquare in Shadyside with an original oak banister the family has maintained for three generations. Mrs. Patterson had been told by another company she'd need to remove the newel post — she called us instead. We bolted the rail into the hardwood treads without touching a spindle, matched the finish to the original oak grain, and completed the install in a single afternoon. The seat sits unfolded at the bottom landing, ready to ride.

Curved

East Side split-level — curved rail around the upper landing turn

East Side, IN Installed February 2026

A 1959 split-level on Anderson's East Side with a 90° turn at the upper landing where the staircase meets the second-floor hallway. The curved rail bends around the half-wall at the top, and the brown-upholstered seat parks flush on the upper floor so Mr. Garner steps off directly onto the hallway. The modern interior — chandelier above, framed art on the wall — stayed completely untouched. One continuous ride from entry to bedroom level, zero transfers.

Park Place cottage — compact straight rail beside family furniture

Park Place, IN Installed January 2026

A 1940s cottage in Park Place with stone-look tile treads and a wooden sideboard with a potted plant right next to the staircase base. Space was tight — Mrs. Hollingsworth needed the furniture to stay. We fitted the compact-profile straight rail so the brown-upholstered seat tucks against the wall when parked, clearing the sideboard completely. The cozy, traditional interior didn't change at all.

South Madison raised entry — weather-sealed outdoor rail on stone steps

South Madison, IN Installed December 2025

A South Madison Cape Cod with a raised front entry and rough natural stone paving at the base of the porch steps. Mr. Denton is a Vietnam-era veteran who qualified for the VA HISA grant through Roudebush — we prefilled VA Form 10-0103 and had authorization in five weeks. The cream-colored weather-resistant seat rides from the stone-paved walkway up to the covered porch, sealed against Madison County's freeze-thaw cycling and anchored into the existing stonework.

Edgewood carpeted stairs — swivel-exit seat for safer top-landing step-off

Edgewood, IN Installed November 2025

A two-story home in Edgewood with carpeted treads and a top landing where Mrs. Campbell's husband had fallen the previous spring. The brown-upholstered seat matches the carpet tones, and the swivel-exit rotates 90° at the upper landing so she stands on the hallway floor instead of balancing on the top step. The carpet simplified the bracket installation — rails seat firmly through the carpet pad into the subfloor. The 72-hour battery carried them through the January outage.

Platform Lift

Indoor wheelchair platform for a Westwood bi-level

Westwood, IN Installed October 2025

The Nichols's mother uses a manual wheelchair and needed access between floors in their Westwood bi-level. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift along the indoor stairway — a flat black anti-slip platform with yellow high-visibility safety edges, white handrail, and a fold-up deck when not in use. The warm-toned interior walls stayed untouched. A keyed call station at the lower landing lets the family summon the platform from either floor.

Common Questions

Everything Anderson Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift actually cost in Anderson right now?

Straight rails in standard Madison County homes — the Shadyside bungalows, the East Side Cape Cods, the Westwood bi-levels — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails, which you'll need for split-levels with a mid-landing 90° turn (very common in Anderson's 1955–1965 stock), run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is custom-fabricated to your staircase geometry. Outdoor models for raised entries and front porches run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes the installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and first service visit.

Are prices higher here than in Indianapolis?

Equipment prices are the same across Indiana — we don't add a Madison County surcharge. What occasionally varies is install labor for specific conditions: preserving original banisters in Shadyside auto-era homes, compensating rail mounts for worn 80-year-old treads, and the rare dedicated-circuit upgrade in a pre-1950 home with a 60-amp panel. Every line item is in the written quote before we start. No post-install surprises.

Is a refurbished stairlift a realistic option for Anderson homes?

For straight staircases, yes — a certified refurbished unit saves 30–40% off a new install. We carry factory-reconditioned straight rails with new upholstery, new batteries, and a 2-year warranty. For curved rails, refurbished is almost never viable because the rail is manufactured to your specific staircase. Ask us during the assessment whether a refurbished straight unit makes sense for your home. We'll give you the honest answer.

Any hidden fees for older Anderson homes?

Our quote covers everything: rail, seat, installation labor, battery backup, and the first service visit. The one add-on we occasionally see in older Shadyside and Park Place homes is a dedicated electrical circuit when the nearest outlet can't carry the load. That adds $200–$400 and is handled by our licensed electrician. If it's needed, you hear about it during the assessment — not after we've started the install.

A word from Luis

Anderson is one of the markets where I see the real weight of this work. One in four residents has a disability. Nearly one in five is over 65. I get calls from veterans in Shadyside who've been waiting on VA paperwork for months, from adult children in Indianapolis asking me to assess a parent's Park Place bungalow before winter, from homeowners in Westwood who had a fall and need something installed this week.

I come out within 24 hours, measure once, and leave a written quote good for 30 days. No pressure. No upsell. Same-week install when you're ready.

— Luis Ramírez, Anderson
