Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across Genesee County

Genesee County, MI

From the 1920s bungalows and two-story colonials of College Cultural — where original oak treads and steep narrow staircases define every install — to the brick colonials of Mott Park on the north side, where the half-flight entry split is the most common staircase we measure in Flint, our team has mapped every block. We know which Carriage Town Victorians need a curved rail for the tight spiral stair, which Civic Park ranches have basement-access stairs as the real accessibility problem, and which Bradley Hills subdivisions have wide 1960s treads that install in three hours flat. We also staff dedicated coverage for Burton, Grand Blanc, Swartz Creek, and Flushing — all within 15 minutes of downtown Flint.

1928 College Cultural colonial — straight rail on original oak treads

College Cultural, MI Installed March 2026

A 1928 colonial in College Cultural with original oak treads worn smooth from nearly a century of foot traffic and a banister Mrs. Johnson's daughter drove up from Ann Arbor specifically to protect. We matched the rail color to the existing oak grain and bolted the track into the stair treads without touching a single spindle. The cold-weather battery — rated to −30°F — shipped as standard equipment. The rail sits nearly invisible when the seat is parked at the bottom landing.

90° landing turn in a Civic Park split-level — one continuous ride

Civic Park, MI Installed February 2026

A 1960s split-level in Civic Park with a half-flight entry and 90° turn at the upper landing — one of the most common staircase configurations in Flint's postwar housing. We laser-scanned the staircase, custom-fabricated a curved rail that carries the rider from the entry to the upper hallway in a single continuous ride, and added a swivel-exit seat at the top so Mr. Williams steps off onto the hallway floor. The curved rail bends around the half-wall at the upper landing with framed photos untouched on either side.

Mott Park brick colonial — straight rail in a compact traditional stairwell

Mott Park, MI Installed November 2025

A 1940s brick colonial in Mott Park with a compact stairwell, stone-tile treads on the lower flight, and a wooden sideboard at the landing where Mr. Davis keeps family photos and a potted fern his late wife planted in 1988. The stairwell measured 31 inches wall to wall. We fitted the slim-profile rail so the walkable width stayed above 26 inches, anchored the track into the stone treads with expansion bolts, and positioned the seat so it folds flat at the bottom without touching the sideboard. Mr. Davis rides it twice daily — the motor is quieter than his furnace kicking on.

Carriage Town Victorian — outdoor rail on stone-paved front porch entry

Carriage Town, MI Installed December 2025

A turn-of-century Victorian in Carriage Town with a raised front porch, six exterior steps on rough stone pavers, and Michigan winters that coat every surface in ice from November through March. Mr. Thompson is a retired GM worker whose knees gave out after 30 years on the line. The outdoor rail is anchored into the stone paving with stainless concrete bolts, the motor housing carries an IP55 weather rating, and the cream-colored weather-resistant seat is UV-coated for summer and salt-resistant for winter. The lift ran through the entire 2025-2026 Flint winter without a service call.

Beecher townhome — straight rail on carpeted stairs in a compact stairwell

Beecher, MI Installed January 2026

A 1950s townhome in Beecher with carpet-covered treads, a tight newel post at the bottom, and a tiled landing at the base of the stairs. Two national-chain installers told Mrs. Patterson her staircase was too narrow. We fitted the compact-profile rail — 11 inches wide when folded — bolted through the carpet and pad into the wooden substructure. The brown-upholstered seat blends with the carpet tones. The folding footrest and armrests reduce the profile to zero obstructions when parked at the landing.

Platform Lift

Bradley Hills tri-level — indoor wheelchair platform lift between entry and upper floor

Bradley Hills, MI Installed September 2025

A 1960s tri-level in Bradley Hills where Mrs. Mitchell's mother — 84, with a recent hip replacement — uses a wheelchair and could not transfer to a seated stairlift. We installed an indoor inclined wheelchair platform lift with a flat black anti-slip platform, bright yellow high-visibility safety edges around the perimeter, a white handrail, and interlocked gates at both levels that prevent movement unless fully closed. The platform carries her wheelchair and rider on standard household power. She now goes from the entry level to the upper bedrooms in a single uninterrupted ride without leaving her chair.

Common Questions

Everything Flint Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift actually cost in Genesee County right now?

Straight rails in standard Flint-area homes — the two-story colonials in College Cultural, the Cape Cods in Mott Park, the ranches in Burton — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails, which you'll need for the split-level entries common in Civic Park and the Victorian spirals in Carriage Town, run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor models for raised porches and side entries run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are prices different in Flint than other Michigan cities?

Equipment prices are the same across Michigan — we don't adjust quotes based on your ZIP code. What varies slightly is install labor for unusual conditions: preserving original woodwork in Carriage Town Victorians, compensating for worn treads in pre-war homes, and cold-weather battery upgrades that ship standard on every Genesee County install. We tell you the line items upfront. No surprise fees.

Do you charge extra for Spanish-language service?

No. Every Genesee County assessment can be conducted in Spanish at your request — Luis is bilingual and has walked dozens of families through every line of the paperwork in their preferred language. Every printed quote, consent form, and operating manual is also available in Spanish. Zero surcharge.

I'm on a fixed income. Is there a budget option?

Yes. Certified pre-owned straight rails start at $1,800 installed — every unit is factory-refurbished, load-tested, and carries a 2-year warranty. We also offer 0% APR financing from $79/month for qualified buyers. For Genesee County specifically, the MI Choice Waiver covers stairlifts for Medicaid-eligible residents, and the VA HISA grant covers up to $6,800 for service-connected veterans. More than half of our Flint installs use at least one of these funding paths.

A word from Luis

Most Flint families call me after a near-miss — a slip on worn treads in a College Cultural bungalow, a parent who stopped going upstairs after a knee replacement, a son in Detroit worried about his mother alone in a Mott Park colonial she's lived in for 40 years.

My job is simple: drive to your house within 24 hours, measure once, and give you a price that's honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. En español si lo prefiere.
