Stairlift Service Across Oakland County

Oakland County, MI

Auburn Hills housing splits cleanly by decade. The 1960s-70s ranches and split-levels along the Shimmons Road corridor have narrow original-oak treads that take a straight rail in three hours. Indian Village off South Boulevard mixes pre-war bungalows with mid-century capes, often a curved rail. The Preserve at Bald Mountain in the northeast brings 2000s custom estates with sweeping foyers that need 9-foot curved fabrications. Shadow Woods and Brookedale Woods off Joslyn run carpeted 1980s colonials. Butler Ridge and Clear Creek off Squirrel Road are 1990s upscale builds where Oakland University retirees age in place.

Shimmons Road 1972 ranch — straight rail on original oak treads, 3-hour install

Shimmons Road, MI Installed March 2026

A 1972 ranch on Shimmons Road with 14 original oak treads the Thorntons have kept since 1989. Mrs. Thornton slept in the den for three weeks after a knee replacement at Ascension Providence Rochester. Luis laser-measured the 15-foot run, confirmed the solid oak could hold the mounting bolts, and bolted the rail to the treads. Drywall stayed intact. The cream-upholstered seat parks at the bottom landing.

The Preserve at Bald Mountain — curved rail on a 90° upper-landing turn

The Preserve at Bald Mountain, MI Installed February 2026

A 2003 custom estate in The Preserve at Bald Mountain with a single 90° turn at the upper landing where the staircase opens to a chandelier-lit foyer. Mr. Delgado retired from Chrysler's Auburn Hills headquarters in 2019. Luis laser-scanned the run, fabricated a single curved rail bent for that exact upper-landing geometry, and parked the brown-upholstered seat at the top.

Indian Village 1928 brick bungalow — straight rail on stone-tile entry beside a wooden sideboard

Indian Village, MI Installed January 2026

A 1928 brick bungalow in Indian Village off South Boulevard with stone-tile treads and a tight 30-inch-wide stairwell. The Russos kept a wooden sideboard at the base of the stairs, and Luis worked the rail around it without moving the piece. He bolted the short 11-foot rail straight into the tile-set treads. No carpet, no hardwood, just original stone the way the place was built.

Clear Creek, MI Installed December 2025

A Clear Creek home off Squirrel Road with five flagstone steps from the driveway up to the front porch. They turned to a sheet of black ice every Michigan freeze-thaw cycle. Mr. Sullivan had already slipped once before his daughter called. Luis mounted the cream weather-resistant seat at the bottom on the rough stone paving.

Brookedale Woods 1985 colonial — straight rail to upper landing, carpeted treads to tile floor at base

Brookedale Woods, MI Installed November 2025

A 1985 carpeted colonial in Brookedale Woods off Joslyn Road. Carpet runs warm-brown from the upper bedroom hall to the tile floor at the base. Mr. Park's son called after a progressive-neuropathy diagnosis made the stairs unsafe. The MI Choice Waiver through Area Agency on Aging 1-B covered most of the cost. Luis bolted the rail through the carpet into the wood tread beneath. Brown seat parks near the upper landing.

Common Questions

Everything Auburn Hills Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Auburn Hills, MI?

Straight rails in standard Auburn Hills homes — the 1960s-70s ranches along Shimmons Road, the Indian Village bungalows, the carpeted Brookedale Woods colonials — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for split-level landing turns and the custom estates in The Preserve at Bald Mountain run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor models for raised flagstone entries in Clear Creek and Butler Ridge run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are Auburn Hills prices different from Rochester Hills or Troy?

Equipment prices are the same across Oakland County — we do not inflate or discount based on city. What varies is install labor for unusual conditions: narrow pre-war treads in the Indian Village bungalows, split-level landing fabrication along Shimmons Road, and the corrosion-resistant coating we spec on every outdoor install for Michigan freeze-thaw cycles. Those are baseline specs, not upcharges. We list every line item on the written quote.

Is a stairlift cheaper than moving to a single-story home?

Moving costs in Oakland County — real estate commission, closing costs, packing, new deposits — typically run $25,000 to $45,000 given current home values. A straight stairlift installs in under four hours for $2,800 to $5,500 and lets you stay in the Auburn Hills home you have lived in for decades, near your doctors at Ascension Providence Rochester. For most families here, the stairlift costs less than the real estate commission alone.

Do you offer financing for Auburn Hills homeowners?

Yes. We offer 12-month interest-free financing and extended terms up to 60 months starting at $79 per month for a standard straight install. Approval takes minutes during the in-home visit. We also help you stack financing with VA HISA, MI Choice Waiver through Area Agency on Aging 1-B, or Oakland County senior services so you pay the lowest possible out-of-pocket.

A word from Luis

Auburn Hills calls usually come after a health scare — a retired Chrysler engineer in The Preserve at Bald Mountain who fell carrying laundry, a grandmother in an Indian Village bungalow who hasn't been upstairs since hip surgery at Ascension Providence Rochester, a daughter in Troy calling because her parents refuse to sell the Shimmons Road ranch they raised five kids in.

I drive out, measure the staircase, and hand you a written quote honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. En español si lo prefiere.
