Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across Chatham County

Chatham County, NC

Fearrington Village spans about 1,200 wooded acres off US 15-501, eight miles south of Chapel Hill. Camden Park and East Camden hold many of the original Fitch Creations ranchers — single-story homes with oak-tread stairs down to basements or bonus rooms. Weathersfield features two-story traditional homes where curved staircases with mid-landing turns are common. Millcroft and Spindlewood have a mix of cottage-style and newer builds, some with stone or tile treads. Galloway Ridge, the continuing care retirement community on the eastern edge, adds independent-living villas and apartment units where stairlifts and platform lifts are frequent requests. The Village Center area has townhomes with narrower stairwells that need compact rail profiles.

Straight

Oak Tread Rancher in Camden Park

Camden Park, NC Installed March 2026

Original Fitch Creations rancher from 1987. The Ellisons needed the upstairs guest room accessible for Mrs. Ellison's mother. Dark oak treads, straight 14-foot flight — standard residential geometry. We mounted the beige seat at the bottom landing, bolted the rail to the treads only, and had the lift running in three hours flat. No drywall work, no rewiring.

Curved Landing Turn in Weathersfield

Weathersfield, NC Installed January 2026

Charleston-style two-story with a 90-degree turn at the mid-landing and a chandelier overhead — classic Fearrington upscale build. The brown seat parks at the upper landing. We laser-measured the full curve path, custom-bent the rail, and installed it in about five and a half hours. The rail hugs the half-wall without blocking the chandelier sightline.

Stone-Tread Cottage in Millcroft

Millcroft, NC Installed October 2025

Compact cottage with stone-tread stairs and a wooden sideboard at the base — tighter quarters than the Camden Park ranchers. Brown seat parked at the bottom, straight rail running 12 feet. The stone treads were solid anchors for the mounting brackets. We scheduled around the furniture, finished in about three and a half hours, and the lift clears the sideboard by four inches.

Porch Entry Lift in Spindlewood

Spindlewood, NC Installed April 2026

Spindlewood home with rough stone paving leading to the front porch — six steps up to the entry door. The cream outdoor unit is IP55-rated, powder-coated against Piedmont humidity and winter ice. Rail mounted to the stone treads with stainless hardware. The Vances added the optional weather cover, and the lift has handled a full North Carolina summer without a hiccup.

Carpeted Stair Lift in East Camden

East Camden, NC Installed November 2025

East Camden townhome with carpeted stairs — beige pile that happened to match the brown seat upholstery almost exactly. Tiled floor at the base landing, straight 13-foot run. The brackets went through the carpet into the wood sub-treads below. Three hours, one afternoon, and Mrs. Reyes was using the upstairs bathroom on her own again that evening.

Platform Lift

Wheelchair Platform at Galloway Ridge

Galloway Ridge, NC Installed February 2026

Galloway Ridge independent-living villa — the Nakamuras' son uses a wheelchair and could not reach the lower-level den. We installed the indoor inclined platform lift with the flat black deck and yellow safety edges. The white handrail runs alongside. The platform parks at the top when not in use. Galloway Ridge approved the install as a licensed-contractor job, and the lift carries 600 lb.

Common Questions

Everything Fearrington Village Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Fearrington Village?

A straight stairlift for a typical Camden Park rancher runs from $2,800 installed. Curved lifts for the two-story homes in Weathersfield with landing turns start at $9,000 — the price depends on the number of turns and total rail length. Outdoor units for porch and entry stairs start at $4,000. Heavy-duty models rated for 600 lb start at $5,050. Every quote includes the in-home measurement, rail fabrication, installation, and a demo run so you know how the controls work before we leave.

Are there any hidden fees with stairlift installation in Fearrington Village?

No. The price quoted after the in-home assessment is the price you pay. It covers the rail, carriage, seat, installation labor, and cleanup. We don't charge a travel fee for Fearrington Village or anywhere in Chatham County. The only thing that could change the quote is if we find something unexpected during the measurement — like a structural issue with the treads — and we'll tell you about it before any work starts.

How much is a curved stairlift compared to a straight one in Fearrington Village?

A straight stairlift starts at $2,800 and suits single-flight stairs without turns — common in Camden Park ranchers and East Camden townhomes. A curved stairlift starts at $9,000 because each rail is custom-bent to match your exact stair geometry after a laser measurement. Two-story homes in Weathersfield and Millcroft often have 90-degree turns at a mid-landing that require a curved rail. The additional cost reflects the custom fabrication and the longer install time — typically five to six hours instead of three.

Can I finance a stairlift in Fearrington Village?

Yes, financing starts at $79 per month through our third-party partner. The application takes about ten minutes, and most people get an answer the same day. There's no prepayment penalty, and the terms are simple — fixed rate, fixed term. We walk you through the paperwork during the in-home assessment so you know exactly what the monthly number looks like before you decide.

A word from Luis

Fearrington Village is a place I know well. The original Fitch Creations ranchers in Camden Park — those oak-tread stairs are beautiful, but at about 36 inches wide, they're tight for anybody with balance trouble. Over in Weathersfield, those two-story Charleston-style homes have wider staircases but often a 90-degree turn at the landing that needs a curved rail. I've measured dozens of these homes.

What I see most is people who moved here in the '80s and '90s when Fitch was building out the village. Now they're in their 70s, the stairs that were no problem then are the one thing keeping them from the upstairs bedroom. We usually install in about three hours — rail bolts to the treads, not the wall. Galloway Ridge residents call us too, often for the independent-living villas where a straight lift makes the difference between staying put and moving to a higher level of care.

Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

Fearrington Village is one of those communities where people move for the pastoral setting and stay for decades. The homes were built to last, and the stairs that looked great in 1985 just need a little help now. A straight rail on your Camden Park rancher stairs, a curved lift hugging the Weathersfield landing turn, or a platform lift at Galloway Ridge — whatever your floor plan calls for, we handle the whole thing from measurement to cleanup.

Call Luis at the number above or fill out the form. He'll come out to Fearrington Village this week, measure your stairs, and walk you through which rail fits your treads and your budget. No pressure, no travel charge — just a real assessment from someone who knows these exact homes.
