Stairlift Service Across Wake County

Wake County, NC

From the two-story colonials of Haddon Hall — where the standard 14-tread oak stairway and 90-degree upper landing are our most common install in the 27502 zip code — to the Craftsman-influenced porches and narrower stairwells of Scotts Mill along the Beaver Creek Greenway, our team has measured stairs in every major Apex subdivision. Abbingdon's wide carpeted stairways install in under three hours. Salem Village bungalows near Salem Street have steep original treads with low headroom. Sweetwater and Beaver Creek area homes from the 2000s have tile-to-carpet transitions needing chemical-set anchors. We also cover Holly Springs, Fuquay-Varina, Cary, and Morrisville at the same rate.

Straight

Haddon Hall colonial — straight rail on dark oak treads, beige seat at bottom landing

Haddon Hall, NC Installed March 2026

A 1998 two-story colonial in Haddon Hall with fourteen dark-stained oak open treads and a warm-toned foyer. Mrs. Caldwell's orthopedic surgeon at WakeMed cleared her for stairs with assistance only after a knee replacement. We mounted the straight rail directly into the oak treads on the right side without touching the banister or wall, specified a beige/cream seat that complements the warm hardwood tones, and positioned it at the bottom landing. The seat folds flat against the wall — her husband carries laundry past it on the opposite side without brushing it.

Haddon Hall upper landing — curved rail bending 90° around the balustrade, brown seat parked at top

Haddon Hall, NC Installed February 2026

An older-section Haddon Hall colonial from 1997 where the staircase wraps 90 degrees at the upper landing before opening onto the bedroom hallway. We laser-scanned the full staircase and fabricated a single curved rail that bends around the half-wall balustrade, clearing the ceiling fan above with five inches to spare. The brown-upholstered seat parks flush at the upper floor landing — Mr. Patel steps off directly onto the hallway. Framed art on the walls and the chandelier above remain untouched. He rode it the morning of install day and slept upstairs in his own bed that night for the first time in six weeks.

Downtown Apex bungalow — straight rail on stone-look treads in a compact cottage stairwell

Downtown Apex, NC Installed January 2026

A 1928 bungalow two blocks off Salem Street with stone-look tile treads and a compact stairwell that feels more cottage than colonial. A wooden sideboard with a potted plant crowds the bottom landing. Mr. Vasquez had lived in the house for 41 years and was not moving. We mounted the brown-upholstered seat tight against the wall so the sideboard stays in place, bolted the rail into the tile treads with chemical-set anchors, and left the cozy traditional character of the stairwell intact. Luis walked him through every button in Spanish and left a Spanish-language manual on the kitchen table.

Abbingdon front entry — outdoor lift on rough stone paver steps with cream seat

Abbingdon, NC Installed December 2025

A 2001 colonial in Abbingdon with a raised front entry — five brick paver steps from the driveway to the front door over rough natural stone paving, no handrail. Mr. Harrison is a retired Army staff sergeant who qualified for a HISA grant through the Durham VA Medical Center — $6,800 toward the total cost. We anchored the rail into the stone-paved entry, installed the cream weather-resistant seat with UV-resistant upholstery, and sealed every component against Piedmont humidity. Natural daylight floods the covered porch. The carpeted outdoor tread at the base provides a clean transition from driveway to lift.

Scotts Mill — straight rail on carpeted stairs, brown seat blending with carpet tones

Scotts Mill, NC Installed November 2025

A Scotts Mill home with fully carpeted stairs and a landing area at the top. The brown-upholstered seat matches the carpet tones so closely it almost disappears into the stairwell. We bolted the rail through the carpet into the wooden substructure beneath, positioned the seat at the landing where the wall-mounted light switches provide orientation, and tested every safety sensor. The tiled floor at the bottom of the landing gives Mrs. Kim a clean, stable surface for stepping on and off. The slim-profile seat folds to 11 inches from the wall, leaving 22 inches of clear passage for her husband.

Platform Lift

Sweetwater — indoor wheelchair platform lift with yellow safety edges for a double-hip patient

Sweetwater, NC Installed October 2025

A 2005 colonial in Sweetwater where Mrs. Okonkwo needed full wheelchair access to the second floor after a double hip replacement at Duke Raleigh — she could not transfer to a seated stairlift safely during recovery. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift with a flat black anti-slip surface and high-visibility yellow safety edges along the platform border. The white handrail provides support during the ride. The indoor stairway's warm-toned walls frame the installation, and the window at the landing lets in natural light. Mrs. Okonkwo rolls onto the platform in her wheelchair and rides directly to the upper floor without leaving her chair. Her occupational therapist signed off the following week.

Common Questions

Everything Apex Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Apex right now?

Straight rails in standard Apex two-story homes — the colonials in Haddon Hall, the family homes in Abbingdon, the Craftsman-style plans in Scotts Mill — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for L-shaped landings in older Haddon Hall floor plans and some downtown Apex homes with steep turns run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is custom-fabricated to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor models for raised front entries run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are prices higher in Apex than in Cary or Holly Springs?

Equipment prices are identical across Wake County — we don't adjust quotes based on subdivision or zip code. What can vary slightly is install labor for unusual conditions: chemical-set anchors into tile treads in newer Beaver Creek area townhomes, curved-rail fabrication for L-shaped landings in Haddon Hall, or shim brackets for the steep treads in pre-1940 downtown bungalows. Every line item shows up on the written quote before you sign.

Do you charge extra for Spanish-language service?

No. Every Apex assessment can be conducted in Spanish at your request — Luis handles consultations across the Triangle in both languages. Every printed quote, consent form, and operating manual is available in Spanish. Zero surcharge.

Does every Apex HOA add delay to the process?

Interior stairlifts do not require HOA approval anywhere in Apex — the rail bolts into your stair treads behind a closed front door. Outdoor lifts on front porches or raised entries do need architectural review in most Apex subdivisions, including Haddon Hall, Scotts Mill, Abbingdon, and Sweetwater. Under the federal Fair Housing Amendments Act, HOAs must permit reasonable accessibility accommodations. We provide the accommodation-request packet at no charge and have templated it for every major Apex community. Typical approval: 7–14 days.

A word from Luis

Most Apex families call me after a parent starts sleeping downstairs — a recliner in the living room of a Haddon Hall colonial because fourteen oak treads have become fourteen too many after a knee replacement, a father in Scotts Mill who hasn't seen his own bedroom in three weeks, a daughter in Raleigh who found out during a Sunday visit that her mother had been eating every meal at the kitchen counter because the dining room is up a half flight.

My job is simple: drive to your house within 24 hours, measure once, and give you a price that's honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. En español si lo prefiere.
