Stairlift Service Across DeKalb County

DeKalb County, GA

Georgetown and Dunwoody Club Forest account for a large share of our split-level installs — the stair geometry in those subdivisions varies block by block. Along the Sandy Springs border near Abernathy and Roswell Road, 1980s two-stories present straightforward straight-rail situations. The townhome clusters off Vermack Road and Tilly Mill Road often have switchback stairs that look curved but can be solved with a swivel-exit seat on a straight rail if the angle is under 45 degrees. We also serve Doraville, Chamblee, Norcross, Sandy Springs, and Brookhaven — all within 10 miles. If your neighborhood is not listed here, call us — we cover every DeKalb zip code and most of Gwinnett up to Peachtree Corners.

Georgetown ranch — straight rail on original oak treads with seat parked at the bottom landing

Georgetown, GA Installed March 2026

A 1978 ranch in Dunwoody's Georgetown subdivision with a single straight flight of dark oak treads leading to the second floor. The open-tread staircase had warm wood tones throughout and the original oak banister the family wanted preserved. We bolted the slim-profile rail directly into the hardwood treads on the right side, keeping the full banister clearance on the left. The beige seat parks at the bottom landing, folded flat against the rail so the entry hallway stays clear for foot traffic.

Custom curved rail through a tight Vermack Road townhome switchback

Vermack Road corridor, GA Installed February 2026

A late-1990s Dunwoody townhome off Vermack Road with a 180-degree switchback stair turning on three pie-shaped winder treads. Straight rails can't safely handle winders. We laser-scanned the staircase on the first visit, fabricated a custom curved rail over 12 days, and installed it in under four hours. The brown-upholstered seat parks at the upper floor landing and swivels 90 degrees so Mrs. Okonkwo steps off onto the hallway floor beside the framed art on the half-wall. A chandelier above lights the modern interior.

Dunwoody Club Forest — straight rail in a compact traditional stairwell with stone treads

Dunwoody Club Forest, GA Installed January 2026

A cozy traditional home in Dunwoody Club Forest with a compact interior staircase — 12 stone-tile treads in a tight space next to a wooden sideboard where Mrs. Patel keeps family photos and a potted plant. The cottage-style interior has warm wood trim throughout. We mounted the straight rail along the wall side, bolted into the stone treads with masonry anchors, and parked the brown-upholstered seat at the bottom landing beside the cabinet. The folded seat clears the sideboard by just a few inches — tight but functional in this compact space.

Outdoor

Ashford Dunwoody Road — outdoor lift on a stone-paved covered porch entry

Ashford Dunwoody Road corridor, GA Installed December 2025

A 1984 two-story near Ashford Dunwoody Road where the covered front porch had six natural stone-paved steps up from the driveway — the main barrier keeping Mrs. Blackwell from leaving the house independently. We anchored the outdoor rail into the rough stone paving with marine-grade stainless masonry bolts, sealed the motor housing to IP55, and spec'd the weather-resistant cream seat with UV-stabilized upholstery for Georgia's intense summer sun. A keyed call station at the sidewalk lets her summon the chair from below. The carpeted bottom tread provides a stable footing at the base.

North Shallowford ranch — straight rail on carpeted stairs to the bedroom addition

North Shallowford Road area, GA Installed November 2025

A 1970s ranch near North Shallowford Road where the family had added a bedroom over the garage — seven carpeted steps to a landing, with wall-mounted light switches at both levels. Mr. Nguyen, post-hip replacement, couldn't safely climb them without his wife's help. We fitted a compact straight rail on the carpet-covered treads, mounting through the carpet into the wood beneath. The brown-upholstered seat matches the warm carpet tones, and at the landing the tiled floor provides a stable step-off point. Completed before noon on a Tuesday.

Platform Lift

Tilly Mill Road — indoor inclined wheelchair platform lift for a full-time wheelchair user

Tilly Mill Road area, GA Installed October 2025

A raised-entry ranch off Tilly Mill Road where Mrs. Morrison uses a wheelchair full-time and cannot transfer to a seated stairlift. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift on the indoor stairway — a flat black anti-slip platform with high-visibility yellow safety edges and a white handrail, wide enough for her wheelchair to roll on and lock in place. The warm orange-toned walls of the stairwell frame the unit against the window light. She rides from the entry level to the main living floor without ever leaving her chair.

Common Questions

Everything Dunwoody Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Dunwoody right now?

Straight-rail installs in standard Dunwoody homes run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. The split-level layouts common in Georgetown and Dunwoody Club Forest often require two rails or a custom curved rail, which runs $9,000 to $15,000 depending on the staircase geometry. Every quote is written, itemized, and honored for 30 days. It includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit — no separate trip charge.

Do you charge more for Dunwoody's split-level floor plans?

The equipment cost for a split-level is higher only because you may need two separate straight rails or one curved rail — not because we add a neighborhood premium. We tell you which solution fits your staircase on the first visit and explain the cost difference before you commit to anything. Some split-level homes can be solved with a single extended straight rail; some genuinely need two. We've seen both in Georgetown.

Is a stairlift cheaper than moving to a single-story home in DeKalb County?

Moving costs in DeKalb County — real estate commission, closing costs, packing, new deposit — typically run $20,000 to $40,000 minimum given Dunwoody home values. A straight stairlift installs in under four hours for $2,800 to $5,500 and lets you stay in the home you've lived in for decades, in the neighborhood you know, near Northside Hospital and the doctors you already trust. For most Dunwoody families, the stairlift costs less than the real estate commission alone.

Is financing available if I don't qualify for a grant?

Yes. We work with three lending partners — 0% APR for qualified buyers, and fixed-rate plans starting at $79/month. The application is a soft credit pull (no score impact), takes about 4 minutes, and approval is usually same-day. Many Dunwoody families combine financing with the IRS medical expense deduction to reduce the net out-of-pocket cost significantly. We walk through the math during the free assessment.

A word from Luis

Dunwoody looks uniform from the outside — all subdivisions and cul-de-sacs — but the staircases inside are anything but standard. The ranch homes in Georgetown are deceptive: one short flight of eight steps leading to a sunken living room, then another nine up to the bedrooms. That counts as two separate rail runs.

The townhomes off Vermack Road have a landing turn that every out-of-town company measures wrong the first time. I've been inside hundreds of these homes. I know which subdivisions have 36-inch stair widths and which ones tighten to 32. That matters when you're specifying a rail.

Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

The first step is a free in-home assessment — typically 45 minutes, no sales pressure, and we leave a written quote valid for 30 days. We measure the stairs, walk through the funding options specific to your household (EDWP waiver, VA HISA, IRS medical deduction, or financing from $79/month), and tell you what installation day actually looks like in your home.

Over 140 Dunwoody and DeKalb County homeowners have completed that first step with us. Most say the same thing: they wished they'd called two years earlier.
