1978 Tenby Chase split-level: straight rail on hardwood half-flight

Tenby Chase, NJ Installed March 2026

A 1978 split-level in Tenby Chase with seven oak treads from the main level up to the bedrooms. Mrs. Pellegrino slept on the living-room sofa for three weeks after her second knee replacement. Luis laser-measured the run, confirmed the rail leaves 25 inches of clear passage on the 36-inch stairway, and installed the same week. The beige seat parks at the bottom landing. She slept upstairs that night.

Hartford Road colonial: curved rail through a 90° landing turn

Hartford Road, NJ Installed February 2026

A two-story colonial on Hartford Road with a center-hall staircase: eight steps to a 90-degree landing, then six more to the upstairs bedrooms. The Hendersons have lived here since 1985. Luis digitally scanned the run on the first visit, fabricated a single curved rail, and installed a swivel-exit seat at the top so Mr. Henderson steps onto the upper hardwood instead of balancing on the top tread. HISA covered $6,800.

Stairlift Service Across Burlington County

Burlington County, NJ

From the 1960s split-levels and raised ranches in Tenby Chase along Tenby Chase Drive and Haines Mill Road, to the two-story colonials in Hartford Park off Hartford Road and Perkins Lane where wider center-hall staircases take a standard straight rail, our crew has measured staircases throughout Delran Township. The Chester Avenue corridor near Delran Intermediate School features Cape Cod and bi-level homes with narrow enclosed stairways that benefit from our slim-profile rail. Along Creek Road and Bridgeboro Road, older farmhouse conversions and 1950s bungalows have steeper-than-standard interior runs. In the newer developments near Conrow Road and Delran Community Park, two-story homes have open floor plans with wider treads that simplify every install.

Common Questions

Everything Delran Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding, no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

How much does a stairlift cost for a typical Delran home?

It depends mostly on which staircase you have. A straight-rail lift for the single-flight runs common in Delran's ranch and split-level homes generally runs on the lower end of the market, while the curved rail systems needed for the township's two-story colonial staircases cost more because each rail is custom-built to the exact turns of your stairs. Across Burlington County, installed stairlift pricing typically falls in the roughly $2,500 to $15,000+ range, and with the county's median household income around $107,484, most Delran families are financing a project closer to the middle of that range rather than the high end.

Is a stairlift cheaper than moving to a single-story home in Delran?

For most homeowners here, yes. Burlington County's median owner-occupied home value is about $383,500, and an in-county local move typically runs $1,000 to $5,000 in mover costs alone, before you factor in the price gap between selling a Delran colonial and buying something single-story nearby. A stairlift, even a full curved system, is usually a fraction of that total cost, which is why so many of our Delran customers ask about a lift only after running the numbers on relocating first.

Do stairlift prices in Delran vary between straight and curved rail?

Significantly. Straight rail is off-the-shelf and installs in a matter of hours, so it sits at the lower end of the local price range. Curved rail is measured and manufactured for your specific staircase, which is why the two-story colonial homes common throughout Burlington County's post-war neighborhoods, including much of Delran, tend to land at the higher end of the $2,500 to $15,000+ range.

A word from Luis
“In a township like Delran, where more than 70% of families still own the same split-level or colonial they've been in for decades, I hear a lot less 'let's remodel' and a lot more 'let's make what we already have work for the next twenty years,'” says Luis Ramírez, our lead installer for the Burlington County area. “The two-story colonial staircases that went up all over this county during the postwar boom weren't built with aging in place in mind, but a curved rail retrofits onto that run without touching the structure. That's the conversation I have with most Delran homeowners: they don't want to leave the neighborhood, they just want the stairs to stop being the obstacle.”
Luis Ramírez, Delran
