How much does a stairlift cost for a Cherry Hill Mall home?

Does Camden County have a program that covers a stairlift?
The Camden County Home Improvement Program (HIP) offers a 0% interest deferred-payment loan up to $20,000, repaid only when the home is sold or transferred, administered with the Camden County Improvement Authority (CCIA). Its published scope covers housing code violations that are "dangerous or injurious to occupants" — heating, plumbing, electrical, roofing — and a stairlift isn't explicitly listed as an eligible repair. It might qualify at the inspector's discretion as a health/safety item, but that's not guaranteed in writing. Call the county Community Development office at (856) 374-6151 (Melissa Snype) or the CCIA at (856) 751-2242 and ask directly before you count on it. Two other county programs worth knowing about don't cover stairlifts at all: the CDBG Handicap Ramp Program builds ramps only, and the SCUCS medical equipment lending closet ((856) 456-1121) loans out walkers, wheelchairs, and commodes but has no stairlifts on its published list.
What New Jersey state programs help pay for a stairlift?
Two main ones. Jersey Assistance for Community Caregiving (JACC) is a state-funded program for seniors not on Medicaid, capped at $929.88 a month and $11,158.56 a year total. If you're on NJ Medicaid managed care (MLTSS), a stairlift can be covered through the Home and Community-Based Services benefit with no fixed dollar cap — it's approved case by case as part of your Plan of Care, which usually means more paperwork but a higher ceiling than JACC.
Are there veteran-specific funding options?
Yes. The VA's Home Improvement and Structural Alterations (HISA) grant covers up to $6,800 for a service-connected condition or $2,000 for a non-service-connected one, which applies to the structural side of an install. The stairlift itself can also be obtained through the VA Prosthetics program when medically prescribed, and that route doesn't carry a set dollar cap the way HISA does. Talk to the VA before you order anything — the paperwork has to be in place first.
